I have a Colt 1991A1 compact model. Looks to be a series 80 like your example pistol. This video will be helpful for installation of this drop in trigger system. I really have been wanting to do something about the trigger. It's not too bad, and definitely manageable. But to shore it up and have a nice crisp pull would be great. This still uses the existing mainspring, housing and grip safety? And is the sear spring shorter, with the shorter frame? I guess it's all there and just a swap of parts then? And the existing original trigger will work with no issues? I have an old video on my channel from almost 9 years ago I got that old little Colt. It's been a great carry gun, I really like it a lot. I had some night sights put on it, since I carry it.
Hey Marshal. You will use the existing mainspring housing and grip safety. Technically, the sear spring is built into the DTS. The grip safety spring that replaces the original sear spring will fit just fine. And simply swapping the parts out is all it takes, but there is always a remote possibility of minor gunsmithing needed. Your original trigger will work great.
@@NighthawkCustomFirearms Dropped right in. Pinned right in. And wow! What an improvement! Thanks!! Also did a little vid of my own for it, too. Impressive and excellent product!
I have a Series 80 Colt Officers Lightweight and I have to use a EGW ball disconnect because frame disconnect hole size causes disconnect tilt with Colt disconnect. I don't want to punch my disconnect hole on a aluminum frame. So my question is what is the diameter of the disconnect on the DTS ?

If you have a series 80 1911 like the PT1911 Taurus would it save a lot of headache to just get the shim from wilson combat to make it a series 70?
Possibly. If you don't want the Series 80 functionality anymore, getting the shim would be the way to go.

.155” is the diameter, but it has to move back and forth so the hole will have to be a little larger than that. The hole in our frame is .165”.
@@NighthawkCustomFirearms Thank you for specs I'll tear mine down check because I would really love to try the DTS in the Officers.
Will this work in the Sig style series 80?
Yes it will. Shouldn't have a problem at all.
Will this fit in a officer size Colt 1911 ?
Yes, it will fit an officer size 1911.
Would the DTS work with a Para Expert?
Should work just fine!
Does this system fit Taurus 1911 ?
As long as the Taurus in in spec, it should work just fine.
Will this work in a colt defender?
It should work perfectly fine in a Colt Defender.
