You ought to do more quality videos like this to take on Wilson Combat. Would love to see more product demonstrations up on here. As a UK viewer this is about as close as I get to hardware like this so I love to see quality high resolution videos on stuff.
I know that I’m adding late to the game here. I want to comment because I carry a counselor as my daily carry. There aren’t that many videos on this gun, which is unfortunate. Mine has an RMR mounted on it and I have probably shot 3000 rounds through it. It’s a carry gun. But the gun you’re going to need if you’re ever in the shit is your carry gun. There are a few propaganda reviews, mostly from nighthawk. Those videos are absolutely true but I don’t work for nighthawk. This gun is amazing Especially when you consider the size. It’s really not much bigger than a 365 XL. When I’m on my game I can shoot this as accurately as my other night hawks. I begin every range day shooting this first. What I love about it is it has amazing grip control and a great trigger at a small size. Yes a 5 inch barrel or 4 1/2 inch barrel is easier to shoot. Yes, the bigger guns have lighter triggers. My Atlas Athena is sub two pounds but that’s not really appropriate in a carry gun. But in my experience, everything comes down to grip and trigger control. Nighthawk has been genius at this in such a small gun. Even with a reduced grip it drops in my hand like a glove and locks on. And very easily conceals. The recoil is quite manageable. Every time I practice from a defensive position, off the table or from a holster it lands in my hand directly with a red dot in my eyes. I can’t ask for more than that. It returns to zero very well and shoots fast. It really is a very high quality officer size 1911. It holds nine rounds with a flush magazine but add a Wilson and it holds 10. This is plenty. I’ve shot it with 147, 150, 124+ P, and 115 and it eats them all alive. It is expensive. Ridiculously so. But as many others of said, if you can afford it the quality is the best out there. I will tell you that I have had two of these at the same time and the parts are absolutely not interchangeable. They are custom fit. After two years of ownership, I still love it and carry it every day.
I have a NH Carry plus ,ordered,paid for,and all most finished,but in .45? I have been waiting for this Couselor style pistol force long time,but in .45?I guess I'll have to be happy with my previously ordered gun,but these dimensions are what I had been waiting for,but in .45?
Ajacks80 That’s a silly argument. It’s like saying that a Rolls Royce isn’t “worth it” because you can get a Honda that will get you from A to B just as easily. Or that a $3M house isn’t “worth it” because the condo you live in also has a roof to keep the rain off. $4K is about standard for a well made 1911. These aren’t crappy foreign made pistols made with cheap steel and MIM parts cobbled together by some guy who has to churn them out fast so he can keep his job. These have lots of little details in design and workmanship that take time. That costs money. Lots of USA made high grade milled parts that are expensive. Walmart generation. Want it all for the price of a candy bar. Sad.
It really sits on it's own, the x9 and x9s are both double stack. This gun is probably more similar to the x9s if you had to pick one but it's thinner overall.

I was looking at the Dan Wesson ECO, but boy this is nice at only thrice the price!

The Counselor is only available in 9mm. However, the Delegate, which is the commander size brother of the Counselor, is available in 45 ACP and 9mm.
