I left religion years ago and no longer consider myself a member of any religion or denomination. I'm spiritual, but do not belong to any religion. But this woman takes me back to my roots, back to the foundation of my youth. Quite comforting.

That’s Bc she was speaking of a sense of being that is above religion and other man made concepts

She passed away 51 years ago. I was 6 months old. I'm glad I am able to hear her music, her talent and dedicated life to our Lord. I could ask myself why didn't I find her sooner in my early years of singing? but until now? in my 50's? (51).God really works in mysterious ways. This sister is already an inspiration to me. I just heard two songs and heard her for about 20 minutes talking about how to serve the lord and she has inspired me already.

And we can't even do that right because we want to create our own definition of love. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 spells it out and we still ignore it.

Mahalia Jackson is absolutely my GOTO at any time in my life when I am going through adversity. Her music was in my home all the time we were growing up. She was a spiritual giant and a beacon. Although we were a white family in poverty, she was a huge presence in our home. My preacher father loved her music because he said it embodied the purity and the power of the very Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am so ashamed of myself for not getting into Mahalia Jackson like I used to. I've never seen this video until just now, and, oh my God! everything she's said even exists to this day. she spoke nothing but the truth, so help her, God! I would have loved to have met her!
even though she's not alive, she seemed to be smarter than people who are book smart. I feel her spirit just by watching her talk, and sing! I love that woman of God! God bless you in heaven, Ms. Mahalia Jackson!

This woman was a true disciple of Christ. You can tell by her wisdom. God's followers always leave ppl in awe over their wisdom with little to no theological schooling. Once you have the Holy Spirit, God will provide everything you need to serve Him and others.

God told me when I was 19 years old if I wanted to sing worship unto him he told me to model myself after Mahalia Jackson I learned how to sing watching Mahalia minister in song, she was my inspiration to worshiping GOD sincerely and in truth with all my heart theses why I sing even now in 2019! She is still my inspiration and watching her thirst for worshiping Christ is transforming to anyone who hears her!

This interview blessed my soul this morning!! she has always been my all time favorite artist. she knew God and you could tell in her singing. She was in love with the creator. Many days I fall short in my walk and I get jealous of that feeling I know she has to have when shes singing, lol. Its a good jealousy, though! Oh to be in that place with God is how I strive daily. Just a closer walk with thee oh Lord! She hit the nail on the head about loving one another and loving God. It is impossible to say that I love God and I hate my co-worker. My grandmother played her albums all the time and I can see why- the woman was divinely sent by God to give us this beautiful music and minister to our souls. the original MJ- you are missed.

It's lovely to watch an interview where the interviewer shows a great amount of respect for their guest by listening. Very rare to see that theses days. Interviewers don't realise that by listening to their guest, the audience also listens after all the guest is the subject of the show so that we can learn more about them.

Momma Mahalia hit the nail on the head! "If the Christian hypocrites turn from their wicked ways, the sinners will see..." You don't hear gospel singers talk like this. They're too busy pointing the fingers at the sinners instead of just living a correct life and lead by example. Even with the non-believers, she said they have a duty and that is to love fellow man. Ha-ya!

The good Lord gave back to Ms. Mahalia Jackson what she gave out to others that were in need in the great depression and most of her life she did that!! She was a sincere person, which is what I had heard about her. I knew her friend that did 3 concerts with her, Ms. Willa Dorsey who was a sincere person also.

Great lady soaked in truth and love of God.
Sufi Islam teaches somewhat the same as Mahelia has said. Feed the Man then talk about salvation.
      Sufi teach this:
What is the best gift to a Man.?
The Gift of BREAD to a Man is the best gift. ( Bread = livelihood.).
That is why in the modern terms , Best to create our own job and to create jobs for others.

I've always been very fortunate. When I was growing up, my parents were poor and were working all the time. My mom found a woman to take care of the kids while they were working named Maudie Harris. Maudie was from New Orleans, and growing up, I heard about Mahalia Jackson, who Maudie loved, and Sam Cooke, and I didn't realize, until seeing this, how much Maudie and Mahailia seemed like sisters. There words, their views of the world, their belief in God, was so much alike, that when I see this, I feel as if I'm seeing Maudie. Being as young as I was, I never knew how close they were, I knew that Sam and his brothers, played with her sons, and they were over all the time, but all this makes me so fortunate to see our world, from this side - and to have grown up with it.

Jesus sit down with lepers, thieves and those that SOCIETY cast out. Evil preys on the weak. Loving all creatures makes U. S. come together as a force mightier than the EVIL that would destroy all things. In God We Trust One Nation Under God. That makes GOD our KING✌🏾🗽⚖️
