An enthusiast will always prefer a sedan. Out on the highway, city has way less body roll and makes you feel like batman with that handling. Hell, if I wanted a commanding driving position I would drive a truck instead :P

Trucks are costly , you can only get compact trucks like creta , city won't give you as comfort as suv for long distance travel , trucks like Tata xenon , Chevrolet and ford would cost more ,creta is better than small sedan , lol bro, ground clearance soo low bruhh , city gets damaged when speed break is little high (in many indian roads) and when you drive on old roads(without concrete) you city gets dumped bruh ,lol

Some like SUV bcoz of its go anywhere attitude but some prefer sedan because of good handling on highway (just like you) and some prefer fun to drive, easy to maneuver hatchbacks.

@@hareeshdevendran4696 Bro SUVs can never match the comfort level of sedans lol. Sedans are made for the soul purpose of delivering luxury and comfort. Just because SUVs can't scrape their bellies doesn't mean they provide good comfort. And the worst thinking of Indian buyers, just because it is built to go off road so it'll do better on bad roads. Creta is a pseudo SUV, it's just a crossover. It's just a car with increased height and SUV stance so it isn't an SUV in the real world. Also the increased height means the centre of gravity is high and so there is more body roll. Ride comfort depends on chassis strength, suspension, even tyre size. Sure the city's ride is stiffer but I too have city and even in the longest of road trips, I never once felt exhausted it's soo good to drive and so comfortable. Btw my long trips consists of around 400+ KM's a day
@@ajinkyapandit9136 i agree with you . I have a city and a harrier. I always prefer city for long rides or tours as it never makes me and my family exhausted. There's definitely a lot of difference between the two in terms of comfort that people can only feel if they go for long tours.
iVTEC kicks arse of creta... nothing like the iVTEC for butter smooth acceleration, the arrow shot design and sure footed cornering and overall handling dynamics....😘😎

I still got a 2010 i-vtech city... And I just got it painted as I live in Delhi and changed the clutch plate as it was getting quite old. Man every time I look at it I fall in love all over again, it looks so so good... And the excitement it provides while driving is just pure pure joy! And enthusiasts know that stick will always be superior!! The Honda engine is amazing if you want petrol hands down don't look anywhere else.
If you can do a 10 lakhs in a similar way it would be helpful...

I own a Honda City iVtec auto (2016), if youre concerned about ground clearance it doesnt disappoint and goes through most potholes and bad roads if maneuvered properly, if youre touring in rural areas while seating 5 people, it sometimes does take a beating. I've travelled through many bad roads in and around lonavla, mahabaleshwar, my car has crapped only 4 times in 2.5 years of ownership. But I would always prefer the Creta while travelling to be on safer side given the bad roads in our country. #VtecKickedInYo

I have a 2014 Honda City Diesel SV. The car has done 1,60,600 kms so far and I must say the car has never let me down once. I have changed tyres, suspension, AC system etc apart from standard service. But I must say, the car still drives good.
The noise levels are high, the headlights and bluetooth phone connectivity (SV variant) are pathetic while the rear seat can get very bouncy on bad roads.
Apart from this the car just rocks. I must say I am very happy with the City.
Many of my friends have been telling me to change the car, infact many told me that after 1 lakh kms the diesel engine will start giving problems, but so far I have not had any engine troubles at all. My mechanic says I can drive it for another 20k kms easily without trouble.
The mileage in bumper to bumper traffic is about 18KMPL, while on the highway if speeds around 100kmph is maintained we get about 22.5 and if pushed hard at speeds above 130KMPH it gives about 20KMPL.
I drive about 75kms a day and I require some suggestions from Faisal and the other experts here:
Is it time to change the car?
If I am changing, what car should I go for? I want similar lavish space, mileage and power of the city however a diesel automatic with bigger equipment list would make daily commute easier. Also I will drive 25k to 30k kms per year minimum and would like to keep the car for longer period. Hence long term reliability is important for me.
I am willing to stretch upto 15L maybe little more. What are my options? I will be delighted to see some suggestions.

I'd say wait for the next generation city which is due in a year's time. I'd say the Octavia is the best car to drive but you don't know about it's reliability and longevity .
i think majority of buyers don't push their cars to the red line all the times, and since city's low end is mediocre and mid range is also not comparable with creta's either diesel or petrol, thus Creta is any day a better choice. Although If I had to choose between these two (FOR FREE), i will go for the City...and just do red-lining all day, because no one would ruin his own car this way.

City's mid range would be better but creta's diesel mid range can easily baet the city because creta has 114 nm torque more than city

Honda city is any day the best sedan in the following areas:
1) Honda still is a premium brand and has snob appeal
2) Engine on Honda is the best
3) seat comfort esp. rear seat is the best
4) ride is excellent in Honda, in fact on express highway at 120 kmph driving on VTech. Is purely heaven, its like floating on water, no car can match Honda in this segment or price bracket
5) Build and overall quality of Honda is slightly better
6) quality of material used is any day better than Hyundai (you can feel the quality even after 2-3 years)
Hyundai is better if you are in the marked for a partial SUV
1) Huyndai looks handsome
2) Fit and finish of the material is good for a 2-3 year rough use post which it will start rattling (quality not on par with Toyota’s and Honda’s)
3) Good service network and cheaper to maintain compared to Honda
4) SUV feel

Anirban C yes please I have both Honda and Hyundai cars, I have owned Honda city for over 4 years now and Hyundai Tucson for exactly 2 years now. Honda is a pleasure to drive and Hyundai is better on service and maintenance.
You forgot one major downside that I face in my 5 year old City : Potholes and Bumps. My city keeps hitting underbody in potholes and bumps.
cbrcoder very true, you are absolutely correct. Ground clearance is a challenge not too sure if Honda is fixed it in the latest models.
@@KOAPM Ground clearance is fixed in the 2018 model but ride quality on city roads (bangalore) is horrible. You can feel even the small road undulations. I would recommend a Verna or Creta. Wholeheartedly.

dheeraj duppalli Rapid diesel dsg is the best car in the range of 15 lakhs. My cousin owns a rapid. It's just fantastic. The ride quality, handling, acceleration and the magical gear box. The issues are long term reliability of the dry clutch dsg and the resale value. After sales service of skoda has improved a lot. !!

Agree with you, but the exterior and the looks are just far superior than creta. especially the front grill is just outstanding, interior is also nice and practical and also spacious, back seat space and comfort is best in segment.
Ride quality is amazing and yes power is not up to the mark but smart hybrid does it's job giving a good horses and pretty good milage too.

1. Refinement in verna diesel engine is feels like petrol engine
2.Creta 1.6 diesel is costs 18 lakhs
3.Fully feature loaded Verna costs 16 lakhs.

I own a City btw and by no means its a bad car... ivtec is really a gem of an engine but refinement levels are not up to Hyundai... they really make some refined engines...
Cabin quality its definitely better in the Creta and even in the Verna...
Unlike the Verna the Creta doesn't lack legroom which was the only flaw in the Verna... so the Creta wins this one...

A very good review while covering all the features... However Just wanted your expert opinion to help me in making a final decision... I am confused between Honda city petrol zx cvt and Ecosport titanium s Diesel (Not Considering creta at all) ... Now I know both are of different segments however they come at almost similar price points.. The only concern in ecosport is it doesn't have automatic but city has it and it's rear seat shoulder room too isn't great as compared to city... While city's infotainment system(digipad) has lot of issues(no Android auto/aux and mirrorlink/Bluetooth too isn't great) along with its low ground clearance......
These are some of the concerns in both the vehicles which are confusing me in order to take a final decision between the 2..would be really thankful if you can just help with ur expert opinion....
