- The Honda Civic is finally back on Indian soil. The 2019 Civic gets massive changes over the previous car that was sold here and most importantly it gets a diesel engine now! The 2019 Honda Civic is also loaded with more tech and features. Honda is offering the sedan with 2 engine options - 1.8-litre i-VTEC and 1.6-litre i-DTEC. While the petrol comes only with a CVT, the diesel gets a 6-speed MT. In this video, we find out whether the new Civic is as driver-friendly as the older one.

Should've given the petrol a manual gearbox. It was an enthusiast's car cause of the petrol motor and the lovely gearbox. Dissapointed greatly as a potential buyer... 😐

The only reason this sedan will sell is because of its looks, comfort, and the way it handles. The car is absolutely eye catching but the civic will sell better if it is priced well as Faisal said since it misses on a couple of features. The one thing which disappoints me about the civic is the second row of seats otherwise the civic is a great sedan
It looks exactly like city & amaze on front
an elephant hatching out from a broken egg shell and got surrounded with so much chrome, its a concise way to describe honda's design language for the past 7 years, i still admire the first gen Honda city a true Japanese design which still looks fantastic and futuristic ,even Suzuki is in the same band wagon of throwing chrome wherever possible ,may be one day Honda will launch a chrome colour car and call it their magnum opus
The civic in India seems very underpower. I have civic sedan in canada which is not at all near the top end variant but is a 2.0- 4cylinder. There are a tonne of features more to offer.
Vtec is nothing without a Manual gearbox..😒

As said, there is no USP to get footfalls into the showrooms. Instead of those curvy body lines, straight lines would have looked better. As 6 foot tall guy, These low slung cars be it Octavia or civic do not offer great seats at the rear since, we need to sit in a position between sitting and squatting. Which gets uncomfortable over a long time. I feel this wouldn't hurt any other competition.
One of the most honest and non-cliched reviews out of all that came up after Honda's media drive for Civic in Bengaluru, not to mention the most detailed as well. Subscribed!
I agree especially with the end! Diesel is not available in automatic and available with a lower powered engine compared to 1.8 petrol. And the petrol is another different story. Not available in manual is a big hit for some Honda enthusiasts. And making rear stop lamps and indicator "not led" is very cheap & not acceptable considering the price where this one will be sold. But the design is just fab!

It won't beat Octavia in all segments like ( riding, handling, technology, style ) but only disappointing in Octavia is ground clearance and price for rivals,by these two civic may sell in india

Omitting the 1.5 Turbo Petrol was a BIG mistake by Honda!! After all this was the MAIN feature of the 10th generation civic when it was launched in the North American market!
I feel that the old generation HONDA CIVIC was much better. I still remember that it had radio system controls at the back which rarely any car has nowadays... The interiors look old fashioned. For me the old generation HONDA CIVIC was the best. It was much ahead of its times whereas the new one is much behind of its times.

Bang on Faisal...This car if priced attractively will get a lot of buyers....I'm myself a 8 year old City owner and desperately wanting to upgrade now, was waiting for the civic to Launch for a while now, but if the pricing is irrational and Honda puts a premium that it generally does on its car for no reason, then certainly I'll be saying BYE BYE CIVIC.....HELLO HARRIER !
What Tata is offering is a great proposition, have seen the car in flesh and it's simply striking, well put together and a HUGE temptation and moreso a SUV that is BIG N BRAWNY...The only reason I have held back my buying decision is because of the civic....so fingers crossed, if they price it from where the city's price ends than they surely have a buyer in me and many others like me, otherwise it's TATA from a Honda Loyalist of nearly a decade (Pun Intended 😉)
Harsh I second you on the service standards of Tata Motors...But considering the way Tata is spending on R&D and belting out some amazing cars one after another, their service standards are bound to improve...I know all this is wishful thinking as of now, but I'm sure that Tata is working on their after sales for sure, have got some positive thumbs from a couple of my friends who are already using the new gen Tata product and also the big fact that they are making supremely well built and safe cars might just help sway customers in their favour (Nexon getting a Global NCAP of 5 stars)
When its heart over head, I'm still a Honda lover but all that changes if the car isn't priced well as affordability is a big factor too. Moreover right pricing can truly spice up and liven this sleeping executive car segment....hence fingers crossed still 🤞
@@Harsh_VSingh I'm still pondering, this has become slightly more interesting with Skoda launching a Corporate edition Octavia....It's 2 Litre diesel currently undercuts the Honda Civic V by nearly a lakh and a half and Harrier is almost the same price as the Octi. Im sure Octavia is a much established product than the harrier but what Harrier brings to the table is a unique propositon unlike the 2 sedans.....while u can't go wrong with either of these....Will just sit on this for a while more, but I might Just go with the Skoda now, Civic doesn't seem like a great value proposition atleast on the entry level trim.
One thing to take from this car is its looks..In fact since valentines day I had a I had a crush on this car..

HOWEVER I am glad I didn’t wait for this car to launch and instead bought the Octavia 1.8 TSI last year. CIVIC doesn’t stand a chance to compete with Octavia if one is looking for absolute driving pleasure, luxury and features...

4. Even in the US it costs holly molly 25 Lakhs (you can get a v6
3.5 mustang and camaro V6 ((I GUESS THAT VARIANT IS DISCONTINUED )) in that range in USA) so after taxes dont expect price to be under 50 lakhs

Loved the overall quality of video.
But some things which can be even more better.
Choose a good place to speak about car which should look pleasant to eyes with beautiful overall frame.
The current place or similar to that in any video, due to wide angle and much more DOF, feels more distracting.
So working out on framing as well as location would make it much better.
Or at least choose 2 camera setup to get 2 angles.
We don't really need to see the car in frame all the time. Because the reason viewers come on this channel not because of particular vehichle, but because of you.
The only A-roll part lacks little bit, otherwise rest of the work is beautiful.
Isn't Harrier better in this price point? Also, people who want a powerful car can go for polo GTI too...

Honda civic in the international variant is also hatchback type design with 40/60 split seats which increases the practicality of the car
