For the sake of my niece’s future, my sister’s future and my future wife and daughters future, I urge you to rewatch both Yoho and AOC’s statements and reflect on what is really happening here. I hope you can find it in your heart to do the right thing and promote decency and set a good example for young people, especially young boys to treat people of any race or gender with respect and kindness. He actually didn’t apologize....he actually said he “was not sorry for his passion,” didn’t even say her name or speak directly to her, and pretty much denied the whole thing and blamed her for it. AOC stated on twitter she doesn’t accept his apology and I totally agree with her. Until he actually makes an effort to apologize he needs to be suspended.from his job.
I hope his wife and daughter are upstanding women who will demand he apologises and maybe gets anger management therapy .

After reading peoples responses - let me clarify... I don't believe that this behavior is appropriate of anyone; especially in the work place - regardless of gender.
As a thought, one of the reasons men acting out toward women is of concern, is because men are stronger than women physically. Genetically, that is how it is. If a man is in attack mode, most women aren't capable of a fair fight back, if not simple defense. To my knowledge, this was a verbal attack on AOC - it wasn't physical, though it could have escalated.
But come on. Can't we all (regardless of gender) go to work without fear of being attacked? There should be a space of respect and freedom to come to work, as you are, and work.
Surely this is something we can all agree on?

As for telling all of the "squad" to go back where they came from, I believe he was mainly referring to Ilhan Omar (who is originally from another country), and only meant to impress upon them all that the countries of their heritage are no where near half as forgiving of women with big mouths.

Where I worked if someone was caught saying that they would be suspended with pay and have to take sensitivity counselling. They would also have to either in writing or directly apologize to the person or persons. If they did not comply then they would be terminated.

Yoho began by saying he is a man of his words. And the words he used during the confrontation was pretty bad. So call me simple but I would consider him "a man of those" as well according to his own statement. The "apology" was a non apology, but a "save my job" effort. He seemed to know he'd done some wrong though. Why else would he bring his wife and daughters into this? As a shield? Brave. And nobody asked him to apologize for his faith or passion. Faith, passion and female family members has nothing to do with his personal anger and actions towards a colleague. There must be better people to elect out there, no?
