I was about to ask why hippos weren't a part of "The Big 5" as they have more bodies, but then I remembered Google's a thing a looked it up for myself. It was based off of difficulty to hunt on foot.
I did not know that. But hippos and crocodiles kill more than the top 5 every year.

What is the perforated wrap on the cheek riser?
In South Africa, the law determines that the minimum required caliber for hunting dangerous game is .375 in all areas. 8.6(.338) is thus illegal to hunt a cape buffalo.
And it’s a 338 with 308 powder behind it. Ridiculous!

Not quite - most provinces in SA, it is up to the PH. However, most PHs dont even allow .300 win mag and .338 win mag and I totally am with them on that. Actually a little weird, because I'll take a .243 for Eland, but generally an Eland isn't going to become dangerous if wounded.

when i was flying C-130's we'd justify spending all our per diem dollars on beer by saying there's a pork chop in every bottle. I'm thinking that 8.6 is great for poaching control

So I know some hunts the meat isn't exactly prized ..esp predator hunting but do these Buffalo meat get used? Or donated? Just curious
Most likely donated most South African hunting lodges donate their meat to children's homes and organizations that help with food

9:45 drank wuss beer for 4 days straight, morning til night for my buddies wedding. Hand full of shots here and there. Never had a hangover. I’m usually the guy that’s green the next day

@@stacksfarmstead Feral hogs can have up to 30 piglets per year. Cape Buffalo have 1 calf per year. Theres no way they would get out of hand.

Awesome content: at 52yr old, I just once in my life "before" I (kick the bucket), would love to have the opportunity, to go hunt in Africa! However being hat I am a useless loser poor that's "never" going to happen I cant even afford the rifle that would do the job, not even a low end budget 308.
Go to NRA fundraisers. My buddies dad won a hunt in Africa. Cost him $150

I guided for a few years, I was proud to put the Professional Hunter and Outfitter on my website, the way this video started with his cussing and flipping the bird did not portray the hunting guiding industry in Africa as professional… my 2 cents
