Carmen Edwards Rasputin released Felwinter to gather data, at one point or another Felwinter died, and then his ghost (Felspring) brought him back in the dark ages (and Rasputin became very confused).
I think the bit about Ana and Jinju transfering Rasputin happens just after the cutscene in which Rasputin was destroyed. Basically, they transfered as much data (memories and personality) as they could in the engram but they only got bits and pieces of each (hence the "he'll go insane"). What we retrieved was the basic components of Rasputin's personality that he managed to save and then Ana pieced them together. I guess that she will connect the personality to the engram and the exo body so that Rasputin can sort through the data and rebuild part of himself.
Thanks for making all these lore videos, even with a quiet time going on now due to delays and other things, watching your videos and even some of the older ones just builds so much excitement and enthusiasm to want to play, even doing the same old tasks and daily bounties, knowing some lore to area you have been to a 1000 times makes it interesting to see and look at more. even just looking around at mars, titan etc, knowing that all these areas we know and have fought over so much, are been taken by the darkness and we have to leave maybe to never come back is sad in many ways.
I do hope Rasputin is given a second chance in some form or another, poor boy was literally slapped by the darkness when he tried to blow them out of the park, only to quite literally, barely, escaping being blown up himself from the inside. And shortly after declaring himself a guardian as well.

There was this room in destiny 1 in the warmind bunker under the room where we fight omnigul for the first time there are these pods wich I think is where felwinter was revived for the first time and the reason I say that is because only one of the pods is open
My belief is that she recovered a large chunk of him, and the small fragment we found was what she needed to compile him in a way where he won't go insane. Maybe a point of reference to ground him, after having been put in an engram.
Ana stuffing Rasputin into an engram reminds me heavily of a book series i read called the Illuminae files, where a girl named Kady manages to put a self-replicating shard of a fleet defense AI inside of her own tablet and store it before the command ship which he inhabits is destroyed.
Jinju said that they'd gotten most of Rasputin, which would mean that there might be some of him left for Ana to get during the Evacuation Quest lore. Ana was worried that if Rasputin was stuffed into an engram he'd go insane, so my theory is that the knowledge in the engram will be combined with the frame she built in the Evacuation Quest lore (which seems to moreso house his personality) to rebuild him mostly whole in the tower.
Going through this quest has me with a strange combination of hopelessness, depression that this could be the last time we ever see slone asher and vance but pride that they will be standing against the darkness in their own way
Between Uldren "Crow" probably coming back in the cosmodrome and Rasputin stuffed up in an Exo (hope he doesn't get kidnapped by a hive god sister) it looks like we're folding in a lot of plot stuff from the Long Lost Destiny 1 Storyline, which I am crazy excited for!
When I first read "Anna: Frayed" I took it as taking place immediately after the seasonal cutscene at the very beginning of the season...right after the Darkness shut down Rasputin
Don't know why I haven't seen more of this, but Rasputin's influence is already seen in next seasons armor, specifically the helmets which look quite similar to a certain exotic helmet for warlocks, which was made by an experimental exo risen- Felwinter.
I think what Ana recovered was memory data, his records of the system, his own existence and what he's accomplished, or failed to accomplice. But the Warmind isn't any normal computer program, its s dynamic self modifying, and more importantly gowning system. What we got out of the signal buffer is _that_ part of Rasputin, the part that grows and changes. Big Red's soul, if you would. His Wisdom, while whatever Ana retrieved personally would have been insane on its own, so it stands to reason its the parts of him hat don't think and plan, and trying to make them without the rest would end badly. I'm pretty sure the hardware we picked up are pieces of the Warsats, which, if you look around inside Mindlab: Rasputin, and the Thousand Voices Strike/Mission it looks like their built using the same hardlight/data/engram stuff that is used in the Valkyrie, I've yet to see an acual explanation of whatever that stuff is. Which is... kinda a glaring problem? It's part of Rasputin's brain, it looks like it might be used to build Warsats, and oh, right, it has been used to MURDER A HIVE GOD. Do we know what that stuff is?
Fun fact about the quest step to do escalation protocol for travelers chosen. You can actually progress this step with lost sector bosses on mars (at least at the time of posting this comment).
I'm under impression that the first set of data that Ana and her ghost collected are the memories and knowledge that he possessed, while the bit of him that the Guardian collected is his personality code or the string of code that allows him to make decisions. I also have to wonder if the culmination of heading to a raid in Europa will be finalizing Rasputin into his new body. That'd be neat, I feel.
Here's what I think is gonna happen: It's almost certain that Rasputin is going to become an Exo. When Ana gets to The Tower and puts him in his new Exo body in Beyond Light, there will probably be some kind of quest to fully restore Rasputin's consciousness, which will most likely culminate in the new raid, given that the raid in Beyond Light takes place in the Deep Stone Crypt (the birthplace of all Exos)

Going through this quest has me with a strange combination of hopelessness, depression that this could be the last time we ever see slone asher and vance but pride that they will be standing against the darkness in their own way
What if when Ana boots up the Exo... Its Felwinter
Never view a video so quick as I do Byf's
You know, I didn’t think about it until now. But Byf playing as a warlock makes so much sense. Think about, warlocks and knowledge, Byf and lore???
Between Uldren "Crow" probably coming back in the cosmodrome and Rasputin stuffed up in an Exo (hope he doesn't get kidnapped by a hive god sister) it looks like we're folding in a lot of plot stuff from the Long Lost Destiny 1 Storyline, which I am crazy excited for!
Plot twist: Rasputin is the new hunter vanguard. Yells at us in backwards Russian about how he wants a tank.
Now imagining a Rasputin Sweeper Bot, lol.
Thanks as always Byf!
man the lore about him seeing what it was like to be like felwinter and his guilt later would be awesome
10:50 thats a mad play tho
i love your voice Byf. your videos are always so calming and interesting. keep it up mate.
I love these videos where you talk about lore
I have a feeling that Ana Bae might be the next Hunter Vanguard. She would be a pretty good fit tbh.
Yeah, she already isn't doing much 😋
Gotta wait to find out about uldren first, if he’s still In the cosmodrome
Holy crap... we have Clovis bray now he can help fix red
When I first read "Anna: Frayed" I took it as taking place immediately after the seasonal cutscene at the very beginning of the season...right after the Darkness shut down Rasputin
for some reason the other week i saw a notification for the place rasputin can be picked up from while finishing off the worldline quests
Rasputin's arch is getting awfully similar to culminating on the "Baby Nut" situation.
Don't know why I haven't seen more of this, but Rasputin's influence is already seen in next seasons armor, specifically the helmets which look quite similar to a certain exotic helmet for warlocks, which was made by an experimental exo risen- Felwinter.
Guardians: Were you killed!?
Rasputin: Sadly yes...But I lived!!
Well rasputin is living up to the name like in history
So if we add water he should die for realz
Duke of Dusk thats the part im dreading, it was hyperthermia that killed him wasn’t it.... could be stasis that kills Rasputin off
I do believe the Lore tab on Traveler's Chosen might be an interesting addition to this, since it's hinting at being from the POV of Rasputin.
Actually, it's in the perspective of Savathun spying on the Tower through the skull that Lord Shaxx keeps by his station.
Just want you to know I love you and I hope your doing well in life. Been a fan since you first launched this channel.
6 years ago today, our legends of Guardians began. What a wild ride!
Ik I’m late but this sounds like an deep explanation of the cutscene we get with anna working on rasputin and then everything going dark
Rasputin lost some of his power, now he's just putin
If he ever becomes an npc again he needs a voice line that's just "blyat"
"You skratta you lose!" - Rasputin
I really love your life advices at the end of videos 😍
I really love your content. Listening to it gets me pumped to play destiny and to see what’s next.
The Asher Mir's lore tabs are kinda of bitter Sweet to process in my opinion
Here's what I think is gonna happen:
It's almost certain that Rasputin is going to become an Exo.
Rasputin's Exo intro in Beyond Light: "I was Rasputin, guardian of all I surveyed. Now I serve the Brays once again, and you as well, Guardian."
