They were blessed by the Traveler, the Whirlwind happened, they've become pirates and scavengers, we've devastate their forces over the years, they all band under one banner out of desperation, the rise of the Scorn, the formation of syndicates and terrorist groups, and now we'll be dealing with Darkness powered Fallen. Then there's Variks and Mithraks. I'm looking forward to what Bungie will do for the Eliksni's story.
This is the Raid I'm most Disappointed to see go. I wouldn't really call it a full raid, since there's only 2 "normal" raid encounters, an opening sequence, and one boss, but it's an intreguing area, with interesting lore. I hope we can see it return soon

Watching this video gave me a renewed love for Destiny's animations. Watching Insurrection Prime blow up like that was super cool, and definitely something everyone misses because they're so eager to go down the vault right after

Man I absolutely love this raid, the atmosphere, the weapons, the music, and the panic of the sparrow race. I don’t care that it’s a shorter raid with only 1 boss and I’m really sad to see it go
The first room with all of the advertisements was incredible. I wish there were more flavor and branding in the playable spaces, giving us more insight into the world. With the faction rallies gone, there's not really any exposure to the culture of the last city other than some of the old lore.
Yeah... As someone who joined with Shadowkeep, I feel so painfully distant from the last city itself due to lack of interaction with its people that the title of 'guardian' feels pretty meaningless, just a word, not a title This is one of those things that I really wish destiny would shore up. But, I guess Destiny is one of those games where the whole narrative is kind of a mess in its pacing and structure. I hope the new New Light quests help introduce you to the world and its cast better than it currently does, because it really just thrusts you in there and gives you no reason to care unless you personally go out of your way to learn and get invested.
This raid was always my favorite because it experimented so much with an open world aspect for the encounters. Im sad to see it go but Im happy that I get to learn more about it.
I think that’s on purpose. There is probably going to be a big boss battle there at the end of the season that Lakshmi foresaw is probably the vex attacking house light
Every now and again I come back to this video and I realize byf just makes me miss this raid more. I played through both games and out of the both of them Scourge Of The Past will always be my #1. I await the day it returns.
In a way seeing those in the trailer, you could say insurrection is a prototype since these are smaller and they can be manned by fallen, i believe they are.
I absolutely love when we're thrown into the destroyed (or not) city. I really hope we will get more of this ! We always have to protect it but barely know how it looks like !

Yeah... One of my biggest gripes with Destiny. I love that it's THERE, but sometimes I feel like they treat the fact they HAVE a codex like an excuse NOT to make material ingame to make learning those things natural.

I love this raid so much, it has everything, multiple viable loadouts, sparrows work throughout the raid, an excellent raid exotics and A FUCKING SPARROW RACE.
I'm thinking maybe they'll give one in Beyond Light, since all the raid weapons being retired are supposedly going to have alternate means of unlock, we're going to have a buncha baby insurrections to fight, and the dlc as a whole is Fallen based. Ornament too, just for the fun of it.
I just returned to destiny 2 and kinda sad I didn’t get to experience all the other raids. Last raid I played was leviathan when it came out and I’ve been doing deep stone crypt a lot, it would’ve been fun to play this raid
Man I really want to see this come back later on revamped....I love black armory weapons in general, so imagine when this comes back they add new ones and do a mini age of triumph for this raid.
I like how this was connected to what happened in Season of the Splicer, but mostly in secret. Savathun has likely had control of Black Armory tech as far back as the Harbinger mission.
I love this raid so much, because I love the Black Armory so much. From the aesthetic to the lore, I think the Black Armory is my favorite bit of content in D2. Yes, I also really love doing the forges. I fought tooth and nail to get my Blacksmith title, to clear Niobe's Torment, to do everything Black Armory. I actively volunteer in my clan to sherpa Scourge runs, sure Scourge is easy, but it's fun. I love watching people panic at Ablazed Glory. I love hearing folks go "HOLY SHIT!" when Insurrection Prime hops out of his hole. But I think, because of how complicated Insurrection's damage phase can be, I think I enjoy that moment, after we've wiped a dozen times, when it all falls together and everyone cheers in victory as Insurrection explodes. I love that moment the most. And I'm gonna miss it when it's gone. Here's hoping I can master the new raid and sherpa folks through that. I also love how Siviks is just...genuinely a good villain. He's downright devious in some areas and he's got some galaxy brain level ideas when you're doing Niobe's Torment. Like putting a splinter mine inside a phase shield system to prevent it from being disarmed. However, like most gangsters of old, Siviks is undone by his own ego. Thanks for the video Byf, good to see Scourge get one last bit of love before the sun sets on it, and by association, the Black Armory.

My comment is late but I’ve just been obsessing over this raid recently. This was by far my favorite raid in the game as it’s fun short and easy. Music is great for what it is aswell. It makes me cry listening to insurrections theme
Tl;dr the Red Jacks is Shaxx personal unit of combat frames that assist him in various crucible related endeavours, such as securing locations to become crucible maps. They also handle overall map security, canonically ensuring that our alien foes don't come sabotaging or overall ruining crucible matches. And finally of course being that Shaxx is a guardian in service to the last city his Red Jacks also gets involved in vanguard operations, such as supporting us during the moon campaign in Shadowkeep.
@@Estus_sipper well at the end of the day they're just frames, robots with very basic AI and combat capacity. I imagine having a few guardians tag along ensures the job gets done.
You forgot to mention that fallen have been mentioned as being in the last city sewers since Y1 on D2. You could hear it in the random civvie chatter about them setting up turrets and the like to deal with fallen in there.
Maybe one of Sivics’s fallen are with airamis we did see the same machines in the trailer for beyond light maybe the one with the big chunk of pyramid on his back

My comment is late but I’ve just been obsessing over this raid recently. This was by far my favorite raid in the game as it’s fun short and easy. Music is great for what it is aswell. It makes me cry listening to insurrections theme
It still concerns me that the Fallen had a mech with nukes just sitting under the Traveler, and no one knew it.
Could you do a lore vid on the red Jacks shaxx talks about them a lot in the crucible I would like to understand them better?
Tl;dr the Red Jacks is Shaxx personal unit of combat frames that assist him in various crucible related endeavours, such as securing locations to become crucible maps.
They also handle overall map security, canonically ensuring that our alien foes don't come sabotaging or overall ruining crucible matches.
And finally of course being that Shaxx is a guardian in service to the last city his Red Jacks also gets involved in vanguard operations, such as supporting us during the moon campaign in Shadowkeep.
Thank you I've always thought that was the case but why would they want a guardian I'd it's made up of the frames
@@Estus_sipper well at the end of the day they're just frames, robots with very basic AI and combat capacity. I imagine having a few guardians tag along ensures the job gets done.

You forgot to mention that fallen have been mentioned as being in the last city sewers since Y1 on D2. You could hear it in the random civvie chatter about them setting up turrets and the like to deal with fallen in there.
