That's a a really neat hood. I see another person saying it's a ford hood. I'll definitely look into that as it would probably improve frunk space. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm starting the process of renovating my 73 with the Ford hood. I bought her in San Jose California back in "85".. drove her until "94" ! ..... Thanks for the ideas and advise!
I wanted to personally thank you for this video. I needed new seats in my 70 Beetle and after watching this video I went out and got the seat and everything needed to do the job. They came out AWESOME!!!!!!!
Giving you A HUGE THANK YOU. I went to my pick your part place and pick up a pair of those seats out of a 2005. Made my mounts and installed them . Thank you so much for the video, i have had many vw bugs and always wanted to change the seats. Thanks again. About to change the ball joint wish me luck.
Before I bought my Tiburon I actually went to the junkyard and sat in practically every car model and sat in them. I fell in love with the tib seats. Tho I had to scrap the car after literally everything broke at once so I'm about to put my old tib seats in my Firebird
really enjoyed this video. Another guy used these seats and said you sit lower. I was leaning toward Mazda 3 seats, junkyard has both, same price..for my 73 beetle - same problem, 30 mph and you are sliding all over the place...
Thanks for posting. I have wondered about doing this on an earlier model. But, being the lazy guy that I am, why not use the sliders out of the Hyundai to avoid making new ones?
Sweet, I've already done this a couple of years ago, mounted as low as possiblle, it was awesome. I also took the whole back seat from the Tiboron and mounted it in my Bug.
Velocity Labs Yes you must complete your work, not just half done 😉 You'll see the back seat fits pretty well, you just need to custom make something under the bottom parts back to hook it into, quite easy. the backrest needs something in the bottom to stick in behind the bottom part (there is already holes for bolts), I used two pieces of plywood 😆. The top parts (my seat had splitter backrest) rested against a 20x40mm pipe fixed to vw original holes in the sides. I welded on two "ears" on the rod so the stock Tiboron back rest locking mechanism works with its buttons. At last you need to custom make something at the sides to fill the space, you will see when you are there.
Fantastic video. Has given me more insight for a seat swap. i have 2012 kia forte. i want leather and power seats. My main issue is the custom work. i do a lot of custom work but i dont dabble much into welding. im fantastic w my angle grinder and dremel however.
Today I learned the hard way that you ALWAYS have to check all measurements before buying something: I grabbed a nice pair of GTI MK5 seats only to see once I tried it to fit in that it and its track were way too wide to fit in the bug :( Guess I'll chase other seats. I'm thinking early 2000 Celica's.
Velocity Labs I'll have to look for that. I was looking at a few seats, mini cooper's and other small sporty cars. have to get out there and see what I can get
Thats a good point Bro I was Thinking of getting them Cheap ass raceing seats from ebay for Bess, But yeah go back to the origional Idear of some from a wreckers Cheers
Martin Born I believe it's usually a good thing to wait around an hour after cutting the electrics to not risk to blow your airbags so in this case there shouldn't be any worries. And I think you are actually on to something there when you talk about taking the airbag and parts out to save weight *thumbs up*
@@MartinBorn Any good upholsterer can remove airbags without a trace left, but some shops won't, stating possible liability issues if some later owner with the same car reconnects them and then they don't deploy in an accident.

It looks horrendous, stock bonnet looks a lot better…

Excellent work as always!
Nice pick for your seats I am putting Hyundai Genesis Coupe seats in my GVR4.

Where you get the front struts.... nice idea for the seats....

What about a Miata lol gonna attempt it in a coupleweeks pulled a pair of front tiburon seats today from junkyard
Nice 🖒 Love the choice of music during cutting /Grinding

very cool video . l will do this to my bug. can you teatch me how to put the back seats??
Your boy Willy is the man💥
GREAT SEATS BUT IN A VW JUNKER .I FEEL BAD FOR THE SEATS .I PUT A PAIR IN A 1980 VANCHARGER FULL TIME 4 WHEEL DRIVE 300VAN RV.THE SEATS ARE VERY HAPPY
I’m struggling with removing the front seats in my bug
jealious, I need seat's in my 68, BAD. i literally am trusting the door to hold me in the car on right hand turns with stock seats, haha
Yeah the stock seats are terrible! There's a few salvage yards around the Denver area showing Tiburons in stock if you to try those.
yeah, I have one not far from me, I'll have to try out. Didn't think it was this simple, but the way you explain it makes it seem easy!
There's companies that make bolt in seat brackets too which is even easier. I've seen used ones listed on The Samba classifieds for super cheap.
Velocity Labs I'll have to look for that. I was looking at a few seats, mini cooper's and other small sporty cars. have to get out there and see what I can get
Toyota Celica seats work amazing too!
Nice video. I almost missed the good part at the end
Thats a good point Bro I was Thinking of getting them Cheap ass raceing seats from ebay for Bess, But yeah go back to the origional Idear of some from a wreckers Cheers
Bring back Bugford!!! :)
Nice! I was looking to see if someone had done Porsche 911 sports seats on a vW
What did you do with the old seats
really good job,it looks amazing!!
The Hyundai Tiburon reminds me of the games NFS Underground and NFS Underground 2.
Holy.... HowToBasic confirmed!!1!1!
Great video, very professional and good looking!
Are you not concerned about the side airbags in the new seats?
Thanks! No, I'm not concerned because there's no electronics hooked up to the seats.
Velocity Labs OK, that's a good point.
Maybe it's worth to take the seat apart take all the unneeded things out and save some weight?
