It's gorgeous! I have a vintage classic flap from 1996 and it still has so much life left in it. I also love the look of the depuffed quilts.

I’m too boring with my bags - black WOC lambskin. Also recently got a Celine classic box small pre-loved in camel, might also be your jam. It is very small though, I would have preferred the Teen which is slightly bigger but needed that accent on the e! 🤣 #ifyouknowyouknow

Tips for wearing mask when facing anxiety
1. Find a mask that you want to touch and hold while doing something you enjoy such as watching TV.
2. Put the mask on while you are at home or somewhere you feel safe.
3. Wear the mask around the house.
4. Wear the mask outside the house.
Tips for feeling anxious when wearing a mask.
1. Remind yourself the mask isn't dangerous.
2. Remind yourself you can take it off whenever you want if necessary.
3. Slow your breathing.
4. Practice wearing a mask at home where you feel safer.
5. Find a mask that works for you.

Everyone says Lambskin is too precious and gets damaged easily but this bag is in great condition, especially considering it's age.
I regret not buying one when they were about $3000 and i had no responsibilities 😟
I have read that there are differences with how delicate the lamb skin is from season to season for newer collections, so that’s possibly why? But it’s definitely made me feel less afraid of buying any other bags in lambskin in future (if I ever bought another one, that is!). Oh gosh and tell me about it. I remember when they were $3000 USD. A friend of mine bought a jumbo then and I’m wishing I’d saved up and gotten one too! 😅

I'd like to know if you sent the bag to a spa..or how did you clean it after receiving the bag? Not a germophobe or anything but I imagine a vintage bag must have a substantial amount of....dirt on it. Would love your thoughts!
What a coincidence! Hope you found this review helpful. Re: cleaning it, you know, I didn't do anything like this when I received the bag. Mine didn't have a funny odour or anything like that, and it didn't look dirty either (I also bought mine before COVID so perhaps I would have done things different if it was after that?). But, if I were to "clean" it, I would probably use an unfragranced baby wipe. Pretty sure I've heard Chase Amie say she's used these to fix up her Chanel's in the past - though I'd double check first.
Very thorough review I really enjoyed it. The attention to detail is great. The sound quality sounds a bit different to usual, did you change your recording method?
It’s so true that is it worth it is a relative question. I’m really glad to here you’re enjoying it so much, and that’s a very interesting point about how you get just as much joy from the second hand version as the new. I love that the bag is living many lives and is loved by multiple owners.
A few years back I would have dreamed of having a Chanel as it’s so classic. However I confess I’ve been so turned off by their price increases that it’s really changed how I view them as a brand, and therefore wouldn’t put so much money on the line for them relative to other brands. They are a truly infamous brand, and I’m curious what the years will bring for them, especially without Karl Lagerfeld.

Definitely - it goes for everything we choose to spend money on don’t you think? So many factors go into determining why something is worth it for us, and it’s such a personal decision. Yes that’s such a lovely way to look at it too - this bag has truly “lived” 🥰
A friend of mine said that she had wanted to get a classic flap but previously they never had them in stock. But since the price hike, they now have loads (probably exaggerating here but you get what I mean I’m sure) of them as less people are buying. Not overly surprised by that as $10K is a lot to spend on a bag!! I’m also curious to see how the next phase in the brands history plays out since Karl’s passing. According to vintage Chanel handbooks, the hardware is coated with an alloy that contains 24K gold. The coating can come off if it’s polished with polishing cloth containing chemicals; it will tarnish if the bag is in salty air environment (beaches and near ocean area).

I've been searching for a vintage flap as well. However, i'm only looking for ones where the quilting has flattened out to a beautiful smooth leather as opposed to ones where the quilting looks dimpled.
The condition of your bag looks wonderful for is age.
Oh yes I know exactly the type you mean - I saw a few like that when I was browsing :) I feel like I got very lucky with the condition, as I've seen others where they look like the previous owner didn't take quite so much care. In the total price I mentioned in the video - yes it was, I just rounded up (I think it cost me slightly less but I forget with the exchange rate). When you shop on Fashionphile though, the shipping isn't included in the listed price. It's added at checkout. HTH!
I just recently purchase a vintage Chanel flap as well and is awaiting for it to arrive. FYI, as long as you purchase using PayPal (regardless on what platform), if the item is not authentic, you can file a claim for return & refund 😊

Such a great review! I somewhat regret buying my black classic flap new in boutique as honestly I think the quality of vintage lambskin is so much more beautiful and luxurious. I ended up getting a baby blue classic flap in vintage caviar and I much prefer my vintage Chanel to my new Chanel! Yours is in such immaculate condition.

Hi there, no I haven't sorry. Though if I did I'd probably take it to a bag repair shop in Chifley Square which does a great job with "luxury" designer pieces like this :)
Even though I don't see myself ever getting a Chanel bag, I appreciated your thorough review, Jamie. :) How have you felt carrying such a high-end bag out in public? I think that's always been a big reason that's stopped me from getting one (that and how totally impractical it is for my lifestyle). While a Chanel bag isn't out of reach financially (though I would cry while forking over $10k for a handbag...), it's such a widely recognized status symbol that I think I'd always feel a little uncomfortable being seen with one.
I second this. I love Chanel and planning to get one but am overconcious of what people will think of given its symbol...

Unfortunately, Fashionphile sells fakes, too. I bought a fake pair of Gucci loafers and was not refunded. Poor customer service. I won’t buy from them again.
Omg that sucks! I’m so sorry to hear that 😔 am surprised that you weren’t refunded as based on the Ts and Cs it seems that you could return an item if it wasn’t authentic. Hope you were able to get a refund via other means - I’ve had this happen to me using a different selling platform in the past and my bank refunded me xx
