Hi Nancy
Thanks for making so important videos revolving around corporate life and HR.
Can you please explain in detail how background checks work? Esp. Credit check/Salary check and other aspects as well. That would be really helpful.
Hello Swapnil
Really appreciate your positive comments on my video. I will be soon making another video on this topic covering all your questions, along with how HR must conduct a reference check. Please stay tuned … cheers!
Hi Nancy - My offer letter says the following - You may resign from your employment by providing Three months’ prior written notice to the Company or by giving equivalent salary (basic salary) in lieu of such unserved notice period. The Company reserves the right to recover salary in lieu of any unserved notice period. For avoidance of doubt, kindly note that the notice period cannot be set off against any unavailed or balance leave that is in your credit at the time of resignation. Despite of this statement having mentioned, the HR says that the buyout policy can't be used. What are implications to this statement and how can I proceed ahead with this?
I worked in a company for 2 months and because of health issues I wasn't able to continue working or serve notice period and I informed my TL then I was released instantly on medical grounds ..as per fnf , I have to pay back one month's salary for not serving notice period then only will they issue me a releiving cum experience letter but I'm not financially in a state to pay the amount. Can I ask for negotiation in recovery amount or is there any other way to deal with this?
I worked in x company for 2 years. And i have dropped papers before DOE I have a new offer in my hand. And i want to exit the company the A. I have submitted my medical documents and applied for early exit. And my DOJ is before my DOE in company A. I have applied as a fresher in company Y. As i asked for early exit or buyout option from company A they have given me medical leaves till my DOE. How can I abscond as I have to join as freshers in company Y ??
Hi Nancy,
I have resigned from my job on 19-07-23 and has 2 months period. I had meeting with my manager on 20-07-23 where i have told them my last working date as 10-08-23 due to medical emergency. However he told me to continue for some more time i.e 25-08-23 till the end of project completion and then leave which i agree..I documented this over email and send it to Manager and HR. Hr then replied that as per policy left over days of Notice period shall be recovered as per Employee seperation policy to which i replied as Noted.
However 2 days i.e on 14-08-23 manager replies that he wants to discuss on my exit process as my notice period is of 2 months.
Please advice on how to tackle this situation as i have to leave by 25-08-23.
As per my contract or employee seperation policy... Payment in lieu of notice period is mentioned. What do i have in this case to leave by 25-08-23.
I have also repeatedly asked by Manager to assign a respurce whom i can do knowledge transfer/ handover byt he has not yet assigned any one.
Please guide on this matter !!!
In my notice clause it's mentioned the notice period waiver or the based on company approval.
Hi Rina,
This means that your company will decide whether to allow you for an early release after resignation or not.
In my contract nothing is mentioned about buy out option, it just say should submit the written resignation letter of 60 days. Can i still ask for that option?
Hi there,
This is an indirect clause for 2 months notice period. You can talk to your company HR if you don’t want to serve 60 days. Ask them how to reduce the notice period. Watch this video before starting the negotiation: ua-cam.com/video/XUzpimVwzos/v-deo.html
Hi Mam, such a Great videos. please tell if an employee have medicine reasons so is there any possibility that employer can still stop them.?
Hi Rishh
If you are on a medication that interrupts your work day than you can definitely put forward it as a reason for absence but incase it’s a general medical prescription the company may deny it.
@@Careervues thankyou for replying Mam, It is not general prescription, I am suffering from Brain TB
Oh I am sorry to hear that. The company must acknowledge this and must grant you support in whichever way they can.
Mam, employee resigns with shortfall of some days instead of full notice period. Company ignores the shortfall and pays full 3 months salary during 3 months notice period but withheld relieving letter.
After one year, company changes mind and asks employee to pay for notice shortfall. Is legal action possible as company itself has paid full 3 months salary during 3 months notice long back
Hi Vijay
I have responded to your concern that you commented on my another video.
