  • A look at the farmhouse before we get in there and start renovating it. Just a little history of our home. It's been in Stephanie's family since it was built in the late 1880's. This house has been the homestead for the family farm in Kentucky.

You know you have a solid old house when the stairs don't creak at all. I love the original part of the home. I hope you're able to keep the original floors, mouldings and trim despite the need to replace the plaster walls.

The trim and molding are some of our favorite parts of the home. We will keep everything we can

Very cool house. I love the kitchen cabinets. Not fond of the island with the electric stove. Hope the renovation goes well for you.

It's very livable as is, surprisingly! All I would do is the carpet right now, and move right in. Save your money and then do things slowly to fix things up. I was expecting this to be much worse than you described it to be. And your wife's memories of her grandmother are in that house too! Good job guys

Definitely livable but we are a bigger family and there are some issues that have to be worked out for it to be able to work for us. Your right though lots of good memories with grandparents here.

I see a lot of potential. It would be great if those fireplaces could be opened up. I suspect there will be some surprises when you start renovations. Maybe wood flooring.

Wow, that is a really neat old home. It's in much better shape than I expected and has some really pretty details. I hope you are able to retain some of character of the home, especially the woodwork.

Its beautiful, I personally wouldn't change anything, I would only fix what needs fixing. I would change water pipes and electrical wiring and that's about it. You have a beautiful home. Congratulations!
