Your daughters dress is adorable and yours as well that you wear that’s black…so vintage!💗 I love how you’ve used your spaces to create unique useful areas that are non-traditional. May I ask where you purchased the boys quilts?
Love this reminder to give attention to our homes. It’s isn’t about buying all the things…it’s about taking care of what you have and curating a home over time🥰
I absolutely love your farmhouse. It's so cozy, early American, and reminds me of how my Mom decorated, and I do the same thing. Love vintage style Lamps, hardwood floors, old fashioned sinks, quilted bedspreads, vintage furniture, and potted greenery throughout the house. You mentioned some kind of disaster in your boys room. I probably would not think it a disaster, but there's a woman here on UA-cam with the channel "DIY Wife", who actually does remodeling and woodworking herself, because they didn't have a lot of money, nor could they afford to remodel, so she decided to do it herself. She's strong as an ox but she doesn't look like it. It's amazing what she can do. She actually could give you advice about a troublesome spot, and help you correct it. She's extremely nice. Just thought I'd mention.
Lisa, Once you and Luke purchased the farmhouse, it suddenly became alive with each episodes. It took on a life and became a home with such beauty throughout all its seasons. It has been a joy to watch your channel. I never grow tired ! Your family is truly beautiful! Loved seeing your sister's wedding. Loved how your son got a pony! How you daughters share your interests and how they love the younger siblings ! Each child is truly special with their own birth stories with very special names. Am glad they are being homeschooled. Loved how you carry each child as you work within your home and how important family life is to you! There is true beauty in your home! Your husband works on the farm and loves the home as much as you do and has the same interest in the children and in God as you do! You put such love in all you have touched in the meals prepared and even in the guest house. Love the farm animals and I am grateful you share! The kitchen is often filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals. The counter often holds fresh eggs and the fresh milk. Meal preparation is a joy and so are the recipes. It is amazing how you just knew what to give the farmhouse. You definitely gave it all the love it had needed and then some! May God Bless you for your devotion to Him, Our Savior !
It doesn't get much better than bringing old furniture and an old home back to life. We are working hard on doing the same. We'll try seasonal decorating next, thanks for all of the great ideas!!
I've had a little lamp on my kitchen counters for years, it does add a cozy feel. They also look warm and pretty on a bathroom counter. I don't use any overhead lighting at all, just lamps. Coziness is important for mental health during these gloomy rainy winter days.
Lisa does such an amazing job of showing in every video the value of homemaking. It's inspiring to me as a fellow stay at home, homeschooling mom to see the joy and beauty of creating exactly the life you want for yourself and family.
You have a real treasure with your farmhouse, it is real, not one of these all-white everything fake ones. I love it and your garden and just ever everything. I wish I could start over and do it all like you.
What a lovely home. I saw the small light in the kitchen on another UA-cam video years ago so have always had one. It does add coziness. After dinner, it is the only light on in the kitchen. Thank you
You have done an amazing job Lisa and I know that Luke is a great team player on all of your decorating adventures too. I’m sure there are times you have clutter but your kitchen is always so neat and tidy . Wow!
I’m at watching this with my mom and dad and my one sister and brother and my dad said u and my mom add a million dollars to the value of any place you live. I just had to smile like crazy. My mom is really snuggling cozy with my dad 2.
I love the idea of changing up the curtains! I love the look of cafe curtains and the softness they bring in your sunny kitchen, but next time pleeez make the length even with the window sill, it looks like they aren't finished and look messy bumping into the things on your counter! It's fun that you and your daughter enjoy this decorating hobby together!
It's always so much fun to spend time with you and your family. Such a positive and healthy way you approach what you do. I come away with a great outlook for my own life. Thank-you❇️
I have often thought sitting rooms are wasted space. How nice you were able to make these extra spaces bedrooms. You own a true and authentic farmhouse.
Yep. I've stated this before on your channel. Lighting. It's absolutely crucial to get lighting right. Lampshades: avoid blue tones ...they'll give off cold light. Opt for burlap or burlap toned for warm light. Either way ..lampshaded lights are better than glass globed lights ...might as well just hang a bulb from the ceiling. Why do you hang curtains so they're below the kitchen sill?
Just love watching everything you do. It's so calming and energizing at the same time! My life has always been thrifted, and "shopping" my home has always been a thing! Same 'ol stuff is completely new in another room! Bless you and your beautiful family!🥰
This was so nice to watch. Very comforting and relaxing. It is soooo very nice to watch a loving family in their beautiful home. I am so happy to see marriages that stay together and that invest in the good rearing of their children. Very lovely indeed!!!!! God bless you all.
Loved watching this video. You're house is so lovely and the fact that it IS farmhouse is so refreshing. I'm so tired of the look of trying to make homes farmhouse when they surely are not. It's good you and your daughter share the same taste.
I watched the whole video, because your home is so beautiful and your style of showing us your home while cleaning was meditative. I definitely liked your words to give a litte attention to our homes without having to buy new stuff. ❤️
Good grief I'm all worn out from watching you! I need to come over and sleep on that guest house bed. Anytime is fine and just for a few hours will work. I love your videos and as much as you do it doesn't really wear me out. I find your channel so relaxing. Keep it up!
I love seeing what you do with your home and how creative you are. I also love seeing you work with the animals you have and the daily chores of farm life. Your also a very intuitive cook and baker which is a talent I do not have. I'm also a big city woman who loves horses, goats and other animals, but will never live that lifestyle so I live vicariously through you. The home is perfect and obviously filled with love.
Simply adore farmhouses and I loved the opportunity to see yours! Thanks for the tip to use rooms as your family needs vs what it was intended for. That’s really going to help us on our home search!
Lisa, I love your videos. I feel that they are inspiring and don't cause me anxiety that I have to do all the things and have everything brand new. Your comment about tape and your kids made me smile. I have two children and there was a time when the only tape in the house was duct tape. Haha. They loved tape and I would find it all over the house. I look forward to your videos. Please keep sharing.
I live in a small urban house - which I love and we’re happy here. We have a small garden and my husband has gotten into growing fruit and vegetables ❤ Trying to live some cabin-life in our cosy home here. I like to bake and you’ve reinvigorated my love of sourdough
This is exactly what I was looking for! I love the cozy feeling of a home with lamps and quilts and rugs! I do have a lamp on my kitchen counter and in the bathroom. Comfy cozy!I love your videos you are such an inspiration! I also live in Missouri ❣️
I just subscribed. I absolutely loved watching this and what a beautiful charming and not overdone home. I to love old pieces and you have made them work beautifully. I also love the wallpaper on your staircase wall. I live in Melbourne, Australia and I get so much inspiration from channels like yours. I shall now watch more of your videos. 💕
I have a 9 year old that LOVES tape. Gracious. It's always sticking to my feet or legs or back side. I want to stop it, but he loves to build and create and invent things that tape can hold together, so I keep quiet. lol. I love tidying up! It makes everything seem peaceful. Even new, like you said.
Oh my goodness, you have to most lovely cozy home. I'm a quilter And just LOVE how your quilts look. I can see they are loved and used! The more you use them the softer they will get. ☺️
Lovely - I really like your green wallcoverings in a couple areas - the stairwell and the sitting space…not sure if it’s the same pattern, but ever so beautiful - especially in the midwest winters; green is so refreshing! At the end, your daughter in the kitchen looked like you!! What a beautiful home you are making for your family!
The striped curtains looked great when seen in just the sink area, but when seen in the totality of the entire kitchen I agree that it looks off. The overall impression of the kitchen is softer than the starker-looking stripes. Maybe a muted blue and white floral fabric would work.
Seeing the end scenes with the kids around the house after seeing you making this all brought a lil tear to my face 🥲 So comforting. Such a beautiful family 💌
I had to chuckle when you commented on the boys and tape. My youngest son, now 43 years old, went thru so much tape of every kind when he was the ages of your boys that I was convinced I should take stock in each company. I might be super rich by now. LOL! Thanks for sharing the different rooms in your home...everything looks amazing and so cozy!
Ohh I just love your home. I love little lamps in my kitchen also, I saw on another site to put a cutting board behind to cover up any cords. I will definitely be following you.
OMG my son has a tape thing going on.. I just relented and gave him his very own tape dispenser!! I only asked him not to put it on dry wall. I gave him poster putty for putting stuff on the wall. Spoiler alert he has gone on to velcro and hot glue. He is our little handy man.
I like to move some things around and like you said they can take on a different fresh perspective in a different location. On days I'm moving things around I tell my husband I'm "playing house" today. He thinks it's funny. Nesting and making our house a home is just so much fun!
Thank you Lisa !! I really need to get my act in gear and do the same thing!! It is a rainy day also here in Mallorca Spain sooo I think I will do some homemaking as you have inspired me. Thanks for sharing the real side of things!!!
I grew up in England in a 1750s renovated cottage and watching this video makes me miss it! Thanks so much for sharing. I love your approach to living.
Lisa, when I moved into an 1853 brick Victorian it was all carpet upstairs. I asked if there were hardwoods under the carpet to which the owner replied, "yes". When I moved in I commenced to ripping out 1500 sq ft of carpet and a layer of subflooring to only find destroyed floors. We patched them and then I bought gallons of off white porch paint and painted the entire upstairs. Sure, the smell was awful for about a week but I left the windows open to air out and they dried perfectly with no residual smell. Because it was porch paint it never chipped or peeled....BUT.....there was no one living upstairs but myself and my husband. We did have family visit with children many times and moved a lot of furniture around with no issues. I loved the look of those painted floors and would do it again in an old house with subpar flooring. Love your weekly vlogs and tour of your home!
Dear Lisa, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk through your lovely home. But, what brought me the greatest joy, was at the end seeing the children,,, mine are all grown up 30's and 40's, 2 girls and 2 boys. Oh how I miss those days with them all over the house, just being children. Thank you for this precious memory. You are so right to keep your rooms and decor at a minimum. It gives you all so much more time to be a family. Hugs💞
My mother passed down to me t-towels from her grandmother! Some hand stitched beautifully! That sent me down the rabbit hole and I started collecting. My husband made and put a shelf with wooden rod over my l kitchen window and I display all my t-towels ! I often look at them and wonder about the women that made these beautiful towels! I also went down the rabbit hole with salt cellars !!
Wonderful! I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again - please show me your basement! I love old houses and hope to someday have one and want to badly to have a basement. I am sure it is unfinished and rough but if I know you (and I have been watching you a long time) you use it for all kinds of wonderful and interesting things it has been used for for many years by many other homemakers who have lived there.
First time commenting, but I have been following your channel for several months. Love it! Everything about your home is so comfortable, warm and inviting.

Hey! As others have said, link isn't working
Hi Lisa, the link doesn’t work.

Wonderfully put, exactly 🙂
Yes! It works like a charm when I have an itch to buy something.
I love that you and your daughter love home decor and talk about it together! So sweet!

Your home is so relatable. It's easy to get caught up with the trends these days, but you're a reminder of what really matters. Thank you for sharing.

Your home has come along way Lisa. This is the most beautiful fairy book home now.

You have done an amazing job Lisa and I know that Luke is a great team player on all of your decorating adventures too. I’m sure there are times you have clutter but your kitchen is always so neat and tidy . Wow!
For years I’ve had a small lamp in kitchen and a small lamp in the bathroom so cozy. This is my first time watching I love your home.
You can tell your house is a home. So beautiful so cozy . So full of love. I love it. Makes this grandmas heart happy.

The tea towel curtains perhaps if you take and fold over a bit the hang on tabs it might be the blend to make all three of you live it
It's always so much fun to spend time with you and your family. Such a positive and healthy way you approach what you do. I come away with a great outlook for my own life. Thank-you❇️
Love your house mind's me of my old farm house. Baskets ,herbs hanging antique s old sturbide paint.
Fabulous tour around your home, I'm guessing there's a new addition on the way. I've guessed right several times so trusting my track record 😀
I noticed that as well.
I have often thought sitting rooms are wasted space. How nice you were able to make these extra spaces bedrooms. You own a true and authentic farmhouse.

I’m almost 60 and my parents always had a small lamp in the kitchen, usually in the corner under the cupboard. It made the kitchen so cozy
Just love watching everything you do. It's so calming and energizing at the same time! My life has always been thrifted, and "shopping" my home has always been a thing! Same 'ol stuff is completely new in another room! Bless you and your beautiful family!🥰
Thank you for inviting me in. I love how very warm and welcoming your home is.
Welcome!!
I have a vintage hurricane lamp, single globe small one with flowers on it in my kitchen. It works beautiful. It looks gorgeous in my vintage home

I love the idea of tea towels as curtains for the kitchen. What about white antique ones with a crochet edge?
I always use striped tea towels as curtains and the top rod I just fold the tea towel over the rod so it’s half the size
I’m putting some on a string! I love that look
What about making the stripes go up and down? I honestly think that’d change everything. You are very inspirational to me!!!! Thanks for the tour!
Have you thought about making your kitchen curtains sit on window sill?
I love seeing what you do with your home and how creative you are. I also love seeing you work with the animals you have and the daily chores of farm life. That lamp makes all the difference in your kitchen! I have done this for years. It adds soooo much coziness.
I totally agree!
A floral print would look nice for curtains. A lot of people used flour sacks to make curtains. Cheers!
This is exactly what I was looking for! I love the cozy feeling of a home with lamps and quilts and rugs! I do have a lamp on my kitchen counter and in the bathroom. Comfy cozy!I love your videos you are such an inspiration! I also live in Missouri ❣️

I’ve added lamps to my kitchen for years. Multiple little lamps. Love them
Thank you for sharing this. I always love seeing how your house evolves constantly. It motivates me and gives me inspiration
Lisa, you are an awesome woman. The amount you accomplish is astounding.
Be patient...it really does take time!
Those kids are gonna have wonderful memories when they are adults. That house is the house you wanna go home to.
I have a 9 year old that LOVES tape. Gracious. It's always sticking to my feet or legs or back side. I want to stop it, but he loves to build and create and invent things that tape can hold together, so I keep quiet. lol.

I agree with Luke, I liked the curtains in the kitchen. It added a bit of hominess.

Don't you just love that auto litter box, best invention ever!
Love your minimal mindset. Would love to continue to hear more about how you achieve this with so many children.
Seeing the end scenes with the kids around the house after seeing you making this all brought a lil tear to my face 🥲
So comforting. Such a beautiful family 💌
I had to chuckle when you commented on the boys and tape. I will definitely be following you.
I added a lamp to my kitchen during Christmas and I love it. I turn off the main light and the little lamp just adds a glow to the kitchen.
The faux fireplace was easily one of my favorite video of yalls. I still think about it! It was nice seeing how you've repurchased the room
Thanks so much!!
Yours is a real farmhouse, love the staircase wallpaper.
Love all the special little things you add to your beautiful home!So warm & cozy!🤗
Thanks so much! 😊
What a beautiful video.
Thank you Lisa !! I really need to get my act in gear and do the same thing!! It is a rainy day also here in Mallorca Spain sooo I think I will do some homemaking as you have inspired me. Thanks for sharing the real side of things!!!
Although i am content with my home, you're home is a dream! Well done, it's very beautiful, and looks super cosy. 😍
For your new wardrobe, you could hang your tablecloths and runners.on hangers. This way, you are using that space & easily see these items.
I always thought that table was an island that you prepped food on!
Beautiful cozy home!
Thank you! 😊
I love your old fashioned style! Farmhouses have the best character.
Yes! Thank you!
Your farmhouse is gorgeous ❤❤
I love all your decor and the strip kitchen curtains as a wonderful farm warmth feel to it
Hi, you should look far a stained glass lamp for your kitchen.
Such a beautiful farm house.
Cozy, welcoming and warm……love your home Lisa!
My aunt did the lamp in the kitchen
And foyer
From the 70s on
Everything comes around again lol
cloudy is so beautiful, definitely not nasty..
I grew up in England in a 1750s renovated cottage and watching this video makes me miss it! Thanks so much for sharing. I love your approach to living.
You are so welcome!
I loved the look of those painted floors and would do it again in an old house with subpar flooring. Love your weekly vlogs and tour of your home!
Thank you.
I love your home!!!I have to say that I really like the striped curtains in your kitchen! it was just unexpected and I love that in my decorating
Dear Lisa, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk through your lovely home. Your home is beautiful
A wonderful home and so warm and inviting. You have a great family also.
Beautiful!
I love the vintage look so this was a treat for me to see your house. Everything looks so beautiful. 😊😊😊
I love the home life you share. You always bring a peaceful and inspiring way on creating a cozy home.
A LIGHT SAGE GREEN WOULD LOOK PRETTY ON THE KITCHEN WINDOW
I feel like the lamp in kitchen vibe you’re looking for is possibly a small Tiffany light?
Aw I love the cozy day shoot! Definitely brings a different vibe to life. Beautiful!
I love the painted floor.
Wonderful! I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again - please show me your basement! I love old houses and hope to someday have one and want to badly to have a basement. Thank you so much!!
Great inspiration Lisa, use what you have and clean/decluttering is so satisfying.
I would put the stripe pattern horizontal. Dont ask me why but i think its gonna look better.
What a fun tour! I absolutely love how you did this tour. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
You are so welcome!
