    The last two minutes was exactly what I needed to hear… the “emotional scaring” can be bigger than the actual scar. Thank you for telling us that we are allowed to have permission to be afraid or angry or insecure about our c sections. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    I didn't know this information. I happened to find this video by chance. It makes sense why I still get the urge to use the bathroom after drinking water. I had no idea I would be going through this besides mourning my failed home birth. Thank you for posting this. It was helpful.

    Thank you so much for delicately addressing this. I get all teary eyed just thinking about touching my scar and then very angry when I actually touch it. Then feel shame after I stop. I thought I was just insane.

      You are not insane! Just lots of emotions stuck in there. Honor them and feel them fully and that can help them release. Also talking thru it again can help too. Good luck.

    I love this video and the information! What products, if any, do you recommend using for massaging cesarean birth scars?

    • @instituteforbirthhealing-l520
      @instituteforbirthhealing-l520  7 років тому +3

      I don't recommend using any products while you are massaging and trying to break up the scar tissue as you want the friction of the skin on skin to help move the tissues. Castor oil packs are great for helping with scar tissue though after massaging. Thanks for asking!

    Thank you so much for this video. I had a c section in 2012(4yrs ago) About 2 yrs ago I started developing discomfort/pain/pulling in my lower abd area. Gyno couldnt figure it out, switched gynos still no answers. Its made it hard for me to run(i was a runner before) and definitely cannot do situps. This sounds like it might be the problem! I am looking forward to watching your massage video. Thank you!

    Hello, I had my baby 10 months ago...second baby, he was breech dr refused to deliver him even though he was Frank breech and he was my second baby (also my first was a vaginal birth) so a breech birth was doable but we all know it's not as profitable as carving someone open....anyways obviously you can see I still have so much resentment and am very emotional as I write this because I had my heart set on a natural birth in a birthing center and am also recovering from terrible post partum depression, just started bonding with my son a few months ago...I am still so heartbroken but am working towards accepting what happened and trying to move on, I'm back to working out and being my athletic self again but am scared to death of hitting problems 10 years from now....sorry for the rant, thank you so much for sharing this video they should have an entire floor dedicated to c section recovery/ therapies in hospitals....do you know anyone that is well experienced in massage therapy in the New York City area....thank you so much again, godbless.

    Love this video!! Thank you so much for your knowledge. My c section is almost 15 years old and I don’t have any of the symptoms. But after using my yoni egg I feel my bladder and uterus are overworked. The uterus has its own muscle. would like your opinion, suggestion and thoughts?? Thank you so much for what you do!!

    • @instituteforbirthhealing-l520

      Not sure what you mean by overworked bladder and uterus. Those two organs do get pushed out of place with pregnancy and that could be what you are feeling as when these organs aren't happy in there the pelvic floor muscles can't work as well. Please see a Birth Healing Specialist in my Directory and they can help get things back into place and working well. instituteforbirthhealing.com/business-directory/. Good luck.

    I soooo needed to see this video. Thank you SO Much Lynn❤. You did a most EXCELLENT job at the material covered. I had issues with sciatica with my last 2 of 4 babies. Both c sections. I went to pt with this last baby because the pain was so bad, id even get stuck in stretching positions and crying when my husband would try to help me release the position. I had a different dr this last baby and she was very rude to me. I had pain, like not discomfort but ACTUAL PAIN with just the cervical checks during pregnancy and labor. Im not a first time mama and I have a high tolerance for pain. I am also a NURSE!! Something wasn't right and no kne has ever given me any answers as to why I was all of a sudden having cervical check PAIN with baby 4 of 4.... but not with the 1st 3. No one ever even looked into it. So I had 2 emergency c sections last 2 babies. And this makes perfect sense now. When I went to pt, the therapist adjusted my pelvis. She said it was lopsided probably due to the presence of relaxin and me compensating. My understanding since watching your video, is that I probably also had scar tissue. I had no more sciatica and no more leg dragging after that. However, this has caused so many mental issues, mental distrust, self distrust bc the OB had told me a few times of the many that she wasn't even to my cervix yet and I was having pain. Cervical pain. I felt like I was crazy. Mental. I had gone from a strong woman that always had it all together to this little tiny vulnerable afraid creature that felt things that weren't there. Thank you for this. I will be sending this video to my therapist to touch on tomorrow during counseling. You're truly amazing. I have a calling for similar care as you just provided to me without even meeting me. 🤗❤

    • @instituteforbirthhealing-l520

      I wouldn't massage it if you aren't having any issues. The expanding uterus will take care of the scar tissue and stretch it out. Now if you are having pain then I'd work really gently around the scar tissue and still do what I say in the video but you won't be sinking into the tissues. See a massage therapist skilled in scar tissue release work or one of my birth healing specialists here: instituteforbirthhealing.com/business-directory/ . Good luck.

      fitjelly0303 the tissue probably isn’t fully healed yet underneath so I would avoid direct on top massage but you can do around the scar. Focus on that right side and loosening up the tissues around your scar. See if that helps. In a week or two go directly on top of the scar and roll and compress the lumps. See if they get smaller. Don’t be too aggressive and let pain be your guide. Good luck.

    • @instituteforbirthhealing-l520
      @instituteforbirthhealing-l520  5 років тому +2

      The scar tissue isn't the only thing to consider for vbac. I'd make sure your pelvic floor muscles have normal tone and are even side to side and your pelvis has good mobility. You also need to make sure your abdominal tissues and uterus have good mobility for baby to get into the best position to come out. There are a lot of factors.

    I wish I had of seen this when I had my last C-section. It has been over 3 years since my last C-section. I have all kind of issues that I swear have everything to do with my scar. My scar is fused to me and looks sucked in almost. It is very tight and sometimes hurts if the skin around there gets pulled. I even have a prominent vein that shows due to my skin being pulled once. Can I ask if sesame seed oil would be good to use in the massage process? I was given this advice from my Naturopath. Is there any corrective surgery that they can do? Or any tips that I could request from the doctors if I were to fall pregnant again? Thanks :-)

      You don't want to massage with the oil, you can use oil on the scar but you don't want to slip around the tissues when massaging so do the massage first then use the oil. You can still work to free up the tissues, it doesn't matter how long its been. Find a practitioner who works with scar tissue and get on it. It's not too late and you may notice lots of pulling during another pregnancy but again massage it could help. Good luck!

      You want to be careful with this as the uterus and baby are right there. I don't recommend you do it unless you are having pain or discomfort or you have someone with experience do it for you. Just don't want to disrupt baby growing in there! Good luck with this pregnancy!
