I watched your video around 12.30am kiwi time. and have just made your cinnamon rolls. OMG, I have eaten two of them at 1.47 am. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on budget cooking and how to real. Can't wait to see on your website about the workshops. I hope govt department like WINZ use you to show those who struggle to cook real food for their families. And don't have access to the internet. I have been going to alot of second hand shops now and buying up jars etc. You are inspirational. I would love to do any of your workshops.

In a past life I was a chef in a nursing home, with the vinegar and sugar I'd sling in a whole peeled onion which I'd stud with 6-8 cloves, and 3 or 4 bay leaves (depending on how many silversides I was cooking.)

Those cinnamon rolls look devine but if i made them I would HAVE to eat them and that's not so good..... so will wait until we have a family event and make them for that. Congratulations on the Workshops! I love how you make everything simple to understand and appreciate the written recipes in the description. With our leftover silverside I make fritters, slice the silverside around 1/2 cm thick, make a batter with plain flour, salt, beaten egg and milk, thick enough to stick to the meat when you dip it in to coat it then fry in melted butter. Of course I have tomatoe sauce with them but 3 out of 4 of my kids have BBQ sauce😅

I usually cook my corned beef from frozen because ... not organised. A glug of malt vinegar, a big squeeze of golden syrup, an onion cut in half, a few peppercorns and add water about two thirds up. Pressure cook 90 minutes on high. I save and freeze the extra cooking liquid for making mustard sauce any time. Big fan of mustard sauce (recipe in the old Edmonds book) 😊 xx

If there's anyone out there that doesn't know what corned beef is, I've heard it called salt beef, silverside, brisket, and bottom round.
It's basically a cheaper cut of beef - think slow cooking. My corned beef is cooked with onion, carrot, celery salt, bay, cloves, vinegar, sugar, pepper, and English mustard.
My family loves it! Great video Stacey, hopefully, more people will realize how tasty corned beef can be and relatively cheap.
As for the cinnamon rolls, nope I'm watching my weight and there's too much of it! 🤣 They look lovely though. Cheers!

Here in the southern part of the US, my mother made a form of corned beef hash, but not as delicious looking as yours, though I did enjoy it. Back then (I'm 60+) she heated the canned corned beef in a skillet and added chopped boiled potatoes instead of mashed. Only thing we've typically done with mashed topping is shepherds/cottage pie, so it's nice to see it used for another dish.
I have tried making a corned beef and cabbage once that I really enjoyed, but my family did not, so obviously i havent made it again. I will have to try it some day with the spices and sweet topping like yours.
So happy to hear that one of your dreams are coming true. I know those you teach will enjoy and truly appreciate what you share with them.

From an Aussie sister, love corned beef as well. We grew up on corned beef & on a Sunday for tea, my mother used to make a batter, coat the meat slices & then drop them into the frypan & cook until done, then put some tomato sauce on them & enjoy! She also did slices of tomato as well as slices of potato. They made a change from veggies every other night. If she had stale bread, then she made jaffles as we had a wood stove in those days & the old jaffle irons, so another enjoyable Sunday night dinner. Usually we had corned beef on Saturday night & then the rest of it on our lunches during the week which we all enjoyed. She did the same with the roast Lamb, so it made up nicer fillings on our sandwiches other than the usual vegemite & cheese or peanut butter & honey. Though Mondays were the highlight for us kids as she gave us each a shilling to buy our lunch as in those days one didn't have a freezer like today & bread went stale - not moldy like today!! My grandmother was a bread maker but mum wasn't.

    Hi from Australia,
First time I ever made these, I used bread machine.
They turned out perfect, except I was a a bit heavy handed with the brown sugar inside.
Thank you for the recipe. 😘
    Love your channel.
I wanted to add a photo of them, but couldn’t work out how.

Hi Stacey. Yay, a workshop. I am waiting with baited breath to find out the details as I am keen to come. It's 3.30 in the morning but now I want to make cinnamon rolls 😋. I do my corned beef the same as you and use golden syrup instead of sugar. So delicious. I love hash as well so will have to try your recipe

Thank you for both recipes! I had never thought to chop (mince) my meat in a food processor. I look forward to trying that in the future. Here in the U.S., where I live, we have both tomato sauce and tomato ketchup (or spelled catsup). Tomato sauce is usually made with tomatoes and salt (sometimes a little seasoning, if you want Italian or basil in it). Tomato ketchup (catsup) is usually made with tomatoes, a little vinegar, a little sweetener (sugar, honey, etc.), and some spices.
So, I am assuming your tomato sauce/catsup for your hash is more like our tomato sauce, or is it like our tomato catsup with a little vinegar and sweetener in it?
Thanks again for 2 delicious recipes!!!

Oh wow, congrats on the workshops! I know that helping and teaching others is so very important to you! They are going to LOVE you, just as we do! This vid and these recipes are brilliant and of course will try these as well - I have so much cooking to do LOL! I too buy my yeast in bulk and keep it in the freezer - I always proof it before adding it to a recipe and it is still active, even after seven years! And for me, it's always "W sauce" because even if I try to pronounce it in my head, I can't, it gets garbled. Anyway, I am really proud of you my friend, and so happy for your successes! You are such a gem! In between your busy schedule please make sure you are taking time just for you to replenish your soul. Love & to you

So excited for you on your upcoming workshop! 🤗
I wish you could do one over here!
I can’t wait to try both of these delicious recipes. I’ve made similar cinnamon rolls before, but never the corn beef…it looks so easy and delicious!
I hope husband loved this special meal!

Congrates Stacy on your New Workshop adventures. I don't use vinegar as the meat has already been corned using the background corning process from stores or butcheries. I corn mine
and rinse off and then ready to use my grandma's recipe which does not use Vinger in it, as you say each to their own. Be cool for you to do a workshop down my way. Just a Question: what is the best pressure cooker to buy in NZ or your thoughts on the ones on the market? Love the cinnamon rolls. Love you hun and Take care xx

I'm not a fan of silverside/ corned beef. My mum made it too much when we were kids. I'm happy to have it once a year. Might try the hash recipe for my hubby tho! The cinnamon buns looked divine! Better than shop bought!

In the UK I've never seen corned beef such as tge one you used. Here we get tins of corned beef so recipe would be impossible to make but it does sound tremulous . When I make corned beef it has cubed tinned corned beef, diced potatoes, carrots, onion, seasoning and stock. This I cook in the oven (gas 5 then 4) for two 1/2 hours. Like you I eat this with tomato sauce. Leftovers I mash together then fry till browned on both sides. Again best with breac and tomato sauce. Yum!
    Love the cinnamon rolls.❤
