  • This is how I learned the backhandspring and got over the back handspring fear. Using continuous kip ups to learn body control before sending a back hand spring.

I just watched 3 videos back to back all talking about different ways to get over the fear and all of them have been different. I like yours the most because you learn another skill that you probably need to know anyway, before hand!

no way I just found this video now, I actually did my 1st & last back handspring while doing continuous kip ups back in 2010 & kip ups used to be my favorite move at that time. Now I think I'm gonna learn doing kip ups again. Great videos man, I love how you show a different variations on how to learn back handspring & any other flips.

Dude, that's like the best way I've ever seen it explained! I can do one on a trampoline but I've never moved to the ground because I don't want to crack my skull open. I can do a kip up too, so you may have just given me the missing piece to something I've wanted to learn for a LONG time bro! THANK YOU!

This method is better because first of all, learning the suicide kip up is much easier and less scary and, second of all, you won't have a habit of turning when doing back handsprings.

  • @RiDankulous

Thank you for your videos! Your videos are very useful, but you chose ahead of time and it shows cause you didn't land on your back the last time you knew you were gonna go all the way. :) It's all good, though. It's easier to land on the back and kick up from that.
This is extremely useful information. I am 49 and a pretty weak person for upper body but I have good leg strength and average cardio. My weight is low so I can more easily throw around my bodyweight. It is time I played around with these types of acrobatics because right now I mainly do soccer ball juggling.
I can do a soccer bicycle kick, and that takes mainly the guts to flip upside down and land. The landing isn't as bad as most people realize as long as they trust their instincts. A bicycle kick is pretty impressive and is my first real acrobatic move. I wish to expand.

This is the one technique that worked for me back then too. It works because when you see it and think about how it will help you learn the move (back handspring), everything inside you just click. If you feel that click, go do it.
A tip for tucking your head when practicing this move is to LOOK AT YOUR BELLY BUTTON. That'd automatically make you tuck your head, and you can just focus on catching yourself without worrying.
    Hope this helps.
