@Clouseauish Romans 1:28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,
The worship of Paul is at the expense of following the teachings of Jesus. The distortion of Jesus's teachings by Paul is well-documented. Unlike his contemporaries in the Jewish communities he traveled and taught, many of the stories of Jesus prominently feature women, often elevating them above men in terms of their faith. It was women, not men, who found the empty tomb. And in some versions of the resurrection story, women, not men, first encountered the risen Christ. The worship of Paul is nothing new, but it is wrong.
Paul's teaching is steeped in context of a world of pagan temples and pagan rituals. It is difficult to understand the full intention of the text without studying the period and history surrounding his statements.
@@joannebottcher9779 His intention was to create a new religion outside of Judaism, which was only possible by breaking from Peter, James, and some of the teachings of Jesus to market it to Gentiles. In some respects, Paul was more successful than Jesus, but at the expense of Jesus.

What about the Episcopal Church and other mainline churches? They've had women pastors for a while and their membership numbers have been plummeting much longer.
It’s too bad that terms and roles end up conflated. The SBC is pushing back against churches that are walking away from the clear reading of scripture. While to me it sounds too strong or dismissive, I find that their argument is justified via interviews such as this. This pastor is obviously LGBT affirming, but how did she get there? By choosing to abandon the clear teaching of Scripture. This is what folks are concerned about. 🤷🏻♂️
These men want control, and they don't want to share. They justify their desire and greed with the belief that they are called by God to lead, and everyone else is called to follow. Like magic.
Without giving an opinion on this particular organization's action on women serving as pastors, just read a few of the comments left in this forum. It isn't a discussion on the issue here, but attacks on Christianity in general. So many, "this is why" comments to justify their choice to reject God and claim they have no religion or faith. The fact here though is that it is humanly impossible to not have a religion. because religion or faith is just to very similar words that mean "a belief system". Whatever you believe, is your religion or faith. There is one other dynamic here though, and you can find that dynamic by looking at who runs the Southern Baptist organization. It is the very same people that support anyone that is Trump-like. It is the very same people that stood by for centuries as their organization and those that support their organization, devastate minority groups throughout the US and other non-colonial countries and people.
So sad that Linda says that the SBC is saying that "women aren't that valuable." That is SUCH a lie. I attended So.Baptist as a child...I now listen to my brain, which does not receive messages from the supernatural.
@Clouseauish Romans 1:28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,
You’re a child of the devil then.
Ban women from attending see what happens to the collection plate
No wonder people are leaving the church in droves!!
Godspeed, Pastor Popham 🙌
God's has "never" called a woman to Pastor or preach period.
Why is church attendance down? Hypocrites!
"I joined a hate group and never thought they're turn on me!"
😂 😭
Exactly why Jimmy Carter pulled out of the SBC years ago: their stance on women.
Does anyone see a connection with the Southern Baptist and MAGA
This is really upsetting 🤦🏾♂
Wow this is straight up Handmaids tale shi*! We can't let them do this! Hey bart this is why you aren't getting more members.
Like O have said for years.the Southern Baptist leadership is is not unlike the Taliban..
May the participation levels zero out entirely. These ghouls do not deserve participation. They have shown who they are and you should believe them.
Unbelievers tell Christians what Christianity is.
The fact that Jesus, did not reveal himself to the apostles first ,but instead revealed himself to his mother and Mary Magdalene. This tells me, and should tell others that Women, should have a stronger voice.
@@sheroyal9326 you haven't read the bible apparently. It is right there.
It's about male control of women not the teaching of Yeshua (Jesus). The men want "Paulianity not Christianity.
Biblical doctrine
Katy did a very sensitive job with this interview.
My mother and father are both pastors. Lutheran ELCA.
Do you wear rainbow stoles?
@@seanmccartney5177What is said about , rainbows, in the Bible ?
Btw : Jesus wore gowns & sandals . He also hanged out with man all day & night 😏
The first full time pastor of our little Methodist Church had a wife that was also a pastor in the United Methodist Church. The Methodist Bishop of the state, assigned them to two different churches (In the same city).
After they left our church, the Methodist Bishop of the state, assigned them to two different churches (In the same city).
They divorced many years ago.
@@JayneDoe420 He also HANGED out with Womens as well and yes he wore "ROBES and sandals" but no rainbow stoleseses
So sad the goal is to take all women’s rights away. But women will not go gently into that good night.
Do you know the history of the Southern Baptist? The Southern Baptist used to be active in the brotherhood of the KKk. Now they are casting the 1st stones at the house of the Lord.
We have wonderful Women Pastors in the Methodist Church. We remember the tennant of Jesus, Come Unto Me. I hope she can start her own Church or join a denomination of true Christians who care about all God’s children.
The real issue is about subservience. The SBC subscribes to the tenets of the Old Testament where women are subservient to men. It’s as simple as that
That's okay we've dealt with Baptist as snake handlers and being behind in modern times but they now are bringing us back in time I'm not sticking around to go back to snakes. Women aren't willing to step back if the Baptist church wants to make things this way. It is a sad day for the baptists!
Baptists handled snakes?
After all we know, it is taboo to wonder out loud if this is all about control of the money?!?! i.e. all businses - no hard feelings (except for little boys)
Pun intended
it's a dying church...let it go to its end.
membership numbers been plummeting for years now.🤷
Yes people are tired of your lgbtqp agenda. You cultists are losing
What about the Episcopal Church and other mainline churches? They've had women pastors for a while and their membership numbers have been plummeting much longer.
How about you be “tolerant” to tradition?
And she if affirming LGBTQ, God have mercy.
Because they believe only a man can become a pastor. This is a man last territory to hold.
The Southern Baptists are between a rock and a hard place.
The SBC is not a force for good.
NOT ACCEPTABLE 😔
I have different views on religion, yet these bills are way out of line!
Christian Nationalism
Southern Baptists should move to Afghanistan. They’d find things very amenable there.
So sad that Linda says that the SBC is saying that "women aren't that valuable." That is SUCH a lie. God set up complimentary roles for men and women; women ARE of highest value to God; leadership has nothing to do with value. Leadership has to do with position. In God's good wisdom He has placed men to be in leadership IN THE PULPIT because that is how He wants it. We are on dangerous ground when we tell the holy God of the universe how WE want things to be.
As the rainbow cloth proves, she was not called. She just went.
Schism. Be done with them.
The whole claim that an imaginary space alien talks to them is ludicrous.
"Whyah, we doan want y'all a'preachin' - them's fer the MENfolk ta do!! If there were a god, would it allow this to happen?
My Lord, ask them directly "why" & share the answer with the world. Very easy nowadays. Well, true, it takes uncommon courage to expose those minds since of the same spiritual family. Light-headedness tends to precede bullying.
As an Atheist looking in on this even I'm complexed by the structure of your church. But I feel like this not my place to say something. Because I don't believe a god exist.
happy Atheist here 🙋🏼♀️
Thank you for being honest instead of trying to tell Christians what Christianity is.

This is what happens when two parties petition and obey an invisible entity. It is not at all surprising that they each hear something different from the entity. Will be interesting to follow developments in this story.
It disappoints me that this woman whose choice of career path challenges patriarchy is apparently blind to the historically patriarchal intent of The Church.
