@@Mechness it's because of that song that I started following Tool. The bass line on it is out of this world, it was just a youtube recommendation at first. I'm not from the US (where tool is not popular outside of the metal scene ) and never was into metal until adulthood, All I knew was a couple of Metallica songs. Now, I'm all about metal. On a side note, the they also nailed Lateralus.
Another very well done cover. Band played extremely well. Sophia nailed the vocals. I love the spice she brings. It's not Maynard and it's not meant to be. It's her own smoky sultry pepper version and I fucking love it.
I cried during this song. Forty years of fighting depression. It's worth the fight to hear a song that reaches into my soul and telling me to keep going. Thank you Sophia and each and every one of Brass Against.
Holy f** k! Please... pardon my language, I have been a die-hard *TOOL* fan for 30 years and this has to be, without a doubt, one of the best covers I've heard! Well done!
@@sailirish7 Yeah they kick it on many Tool charts, but The Pot is my favorite also, it simply kicks ass from start to end and leaves you hungry for more more more.
As a former member of marching band, I can only imagine how amazing it must be to be immersed in the music while covering these killer songs. Made my day! Thank you! And gorgeous vocals!
Guitar section is killing it. Brass is a nice touch. Vocalist is possessed by Maynard’s prose. No drummer ever should have to read sheet music for Tool.
I was ready to rage and hate on this band for having the audacity to even dare to cover a tool song and rework it .but before I could type the audio started and wow what a great rendition and a great listening experience and a great band. Will definately look for more of this band, you earned my admiration, respect and support.
Just thinking as I listen to this... How incredible these lyrics are. The way Maynard put them together seems almost impossible too think of. Imagine writing to this instrumental..the way he structured the words to the instruments is amazing. Also, usually tool covers are deafening...you sound natural for this and have an absolute beautiful voice.
This took every aspect of my musical tastes and brought it seamlessly together! The vocal prowess of Portishead...the horns of Mad Caddies...the hardness the Tool themselves bring! Love it, I hope to hear more! I just listened twice in a row!
"ft. Sophia Urista" Yes, click immediately. She is an incredible talent, I've loved every cover you've done with her so far. Great work to everyone involved!
She is the REAL DEAL - power, passion, sultry, firey, and a killer set of vocal chops to top it off. I don't follow vocalists as a rule, but I gladly make exceptions when they're exceptional.. and she is the hottest thing I've heard in a while.
It blows my mind how this many people doing the song shows me how complex the song is and why i could never imagine how four people brought this much sound.
Holy shit dude. Never even would have thought of this style for a Tool cover but I am so glad I found this. Must continue binging all their tool covers. Also the singer is so hot 🙃
@@alexkmoz Thought the drums were better on this Tool cover than the last one. I kinda feel bad for that guy he is like "wait I have to what on the drums?"

Rainy grey winter day... freezing... Locked inside house (covid is out there)... And suddenly... Wait! Stop everything! It's going to be the BEST 5:10" of the day! Thank you Brass Against! \m/
One of my favorite tracks and y'all crushed it, as always. Sophia adding this sultry tone to the verse and rage to the chorus, excellently done. And the bridge where the brass cuts loose makes the arrangement sound jittery and desperate. Really excellent cover, as always. I hope I get a chance to see you guys live!
I've been D Y I N G to see you guys to Stinkfist, and it's ever bit the raw emotion tension that I'd hoped it would be. You did it justice, yet made it entirely your own. Thank you!

I mean, it's not even about chops a lot of the time (like in the chorus), he (or whoever is writing his transcriptions) just doesn't bother getting the parts right

Brass against always makes the best Tool covers. You actually got me really into Tool. What I'd like to see covered most is Pneuma, my favorite Tool song.
OK, now, I want all the Tool discography by Brass against. Can't get enough of this, I need more.
It was their cover of The Pot that got me hooked.
