C. Paleatus is the “peppered” cory, while C. Habrosus is the “salt and pepper” cory. The common names are often confused even by those who have been in the hobby for 10+ minutes. 😉 Eric Thomas (not Thompson) should have a great presentation on Corydoras at CatfishCon. I’ve learned a lot from Eric and he is always willing to take time and share his experience with me. Looking forward to Jeremy Basch’s presentation as well. Dean is a natural. The two of you make a good team. 👍
You're right. He also say that the albino's are either paleatus or aeneus, but they can also be sterbai. I've seen them alot of times mistaken for aeneus.
I could just as easily proclaim "C. paleatus is the "Salt and Pepper" Cory, while C. habrosus is the "Dwarf Spotted" Cory." Common names are made up, and fishkeepers should learn the scientific names in order to understand what they are purchasing. There aren't right or wrong common names. Even the Neon Tetra goes by a different name in Florida because when they first started mass-producing them, they didn't want others to find out the secret to breeding them so they changed the name in all of the papers.
I agree Preston John, Dean is awesome and I love watching him! Love how Cory and Dean talk back and forth, almost like no one is watching!! Thank you Cory!
Got my betta from you guys, and I have fallen in love with him. Thank you so much for giving out good information, and selling healthy aquatic creatures
I must say I love that whole red Betta. It was my first Betta, Ish 6 months after getting him he got some blue also growing on him. That classic, but never getting old Betta. Also love your videos. If I'm visiting US once I need to visit Seattle, and this amazing store.
Will you make old style vlog videos again? Your projects with the racks, pond, breeding, daily doses were the best videos ever! I watch all your videos regardless, but I love the daily doses!!!
you look like my uncle and my dad combined and it’s freaking me out. I love your videos! Taught me many things about fish and essential things. Thank you!
Discussing pricing made me remember working at a pet store in highschool. My mom thought I was crazy spending $50 for 5 Zebra Plecos. Sadly I lost them when a winter storm knocked out power for 3 days and my basement tank got so cold everything died.
I want Dean to be my grampa and take me to the fish store on Saturday afternoons and buy me all the fish I want and then an ice cream for the ride home.
Oh and do the tons of honey gourami idea!! That would be so cool. I only have one but once I learned the could live together well I’ve wanted to see it
Aquarium Co-Op what type of set do you have there with the gladiator rack would love set up a few like that . I’m not good with power tools build my Owen rack set up ?
My first aquarium was a gifted 55 gallon that sat in my garage all summer with nothing but substrate and an inch or so of water. I was surprised to find three living Kuhlis in it when I finally set it up after school started.
I was wondering, i have a 20 gallon and a 55 gallon tank and i recently got a 10 gallon tank that i decided to use for a betta, and I was wondering if it's possible, to use some water from 1 of the tanks for the new setup, since it already has alot of the good bacteria in there for the current fish.
Here in the Northeast US Corydoras paleatus are commonly called "Peppered" or "Pepper" but some stores mix it up and call them "Salt & Pepper". The Corydoras habrosus is most commonly called "Salt and Pepper" here.
I'm with Robert on the SAE's! From my understanding and what I read online, that net pattern on them is how to identify a true SAE. I bought two for my planted 72 gallon bowfront. They are amazing!
The one that Robert showed in the unboxing was a reticulated sae. Where the scales had a black line around them. Difference between sae and flying fox: the flying foxes black line is smooth, and stops at base of tail.. There's a yellow line aabove the black line. A true sae has zigzag line that goes through the eye and tail. It also has more whiskers ( barbels)
I know this comment old , but I’m with you !!! I love my SAE! They’re gorgeous and there hasn’t been a speck of algae since I got them. They also don’t bother the other fish , just pick on each other every now and then. Lol
Can you make a video or photo about how you placed the tank into your steel rack system? size and dimension of the rack, size and dimension of the tank, material (wood, or steel wire, styrofoam ...) between the rack and the tank,
Aw I’m dying for albino red swords here! I see them once in a blue moon but they come in sick or torn up and I just can’t drop $15 a piece on a fish I have to try to nurse myself only to lose it

Aquarium Co-Op except I can’t in WA right?
Corey, how do you respond to easy root tabs being at the bottom of the list when tested against other root tabs?
Too bad they dont ship to WA state..
Hi Corey are you still hoping to open a UK store in the future? Feel free to open it near where I live in Cambridgeshire ; )

More Dean. His knowledge is invaluable for fish keepers. Plus his excitement helps to stay engaged.
I love his work.
Guy is an expert and room is super clean. What a quality fella. Thanks
still say Dean needs a T-shirt that says "product of selective breeding"
litesronno1shome fantastic idea!!!
Also: "I was bread for looks not brains"
I love watching Dean. He is something special. The two of you are fun, entertaining and very educational.
The laughter is contagious 😊
I’m a simple man. I see Dean, I click. He’s always good for a few smiles and plenty of laughs
Yay! Dean! We need more videos with dean.

TM Aquatics Yes! The fact that everyone calls the Paleatus the “Salt & Pepper” Cory really annoys me😂

I just can’t get enough of Dean!
I agree Preston John, Dean is awesome and I love watching him! Love how Cory and Dean talk back and forth, almost like no one is watching!! Thank you Cory!
Yeah man he's awesome and blessed 🙂
We need to make sure he's safe. We need to wrap him in bubble wrap and keep him quarantined at the coop.
Got my betta from you guys, and I have fallen in love with him. Thank you so much for giving out good information, and selling healthy aquatic creatures
This was a nice highlight of a dreary day. Thanks....This was fun seeing Dean do the unboxing. Great Job, always good to see you.
I LOVE DEAN!!! More Dean!!! Thanks Cory for all you do for the hobby!! You too DEAN!!
Seeing Dean talk is so theraupatic. Good work Cory.
Elvin D'souza I find them both therapeutic.
I must say I love that whole red Betta. It was my first Betta, Ish 6 months after getting him he got some blue also growing on him. That classic, but never getting old Betta. Also love your videos. If I'm visiting US once I need to visit Seattle, and this amazing store.
You should do a monthly Betta fish video! I absolutely loved getting to see all the bettas in the store in an old video!
I second this!
Man, I just love watching Dean! He's fun to hang out with. :)
i love deans story about the loach. Awesome
I love the feeling of finding a new fish I have not seen before even after 20 years of fish keeping.
When Dean and Cory are together, it forms a rainbow in my gloomy mind. ♡
I love my Kuhli loaches so much.
DEAN!!💚💙💛 I love the unboxings Robert, Cory and now Dean are so great at these!
I agree with Dean, I have multiple tanks with bristlenose plecos and my albinos are always out cleaning and my normal ones always hiding.
I feel like every time Cory says “were going to have to get Jimmy to get some b-roll on that” there’s never any b-roll.
I love Deans energy and excitement! Definitely more comfortable in front of the camera! Love it!
I have male and female Congo Tetras in my planted 75. I got them little and raised them up and they are GORGEOUS
Adam Weaver have pics?? 😍
we just call them peppered coreys in vic australia as far as i have seen
Thank you Kuhli loaches! ;)
I believe when a koi betta is "Nemo" that means the base color is yellow or orange instead of white
Hope everyone at the coop is staying happy and healthy. Love you guys, thanks for giving us something awesome to watch during these wild times(:
dean is the biggest word spreader of your store
I love your betta tanks. It's so nice to see betta in actual tanks at a store rather than cups.
Dean's awsome😂
I was today years old when I realized that your profile picture is Murphy
Hot Hot Heat is a fantastic band! Dean videos are always fun to watch :)
I absolutely love watching Dean on aquarium Co-op this unboxing was priceless
Green tetras at 8:24 secs awesome shot!!!!!
When I bought Congo tetras I got 10 for my 75. They’re gorgeous now and every morning they zip around the tank flashing and vibrating. ❤
Will you make old style vlog videos again? Your projects with the racks, pond, breeding, daily doses were the best videos ever! I watch all your videos regardless, but I love the daily doses!!!
Dean is best part of the show. Dean is the man.
You guys are legends, love your videos.
That was awesome. Thanks.
Was telling Jimmy a few days ago I missed his unboxings, theses unboxings always make me want to go to the store and get or check out fish 👍😁❤️
Dean is so cool, I love him.
you look like my uncle and my dad combined and it’s freaking me out. I love your videos! Taught me many things about fish and essential things. Thank you!
I realize it would make the video longer, but it would be kinda cool to hear the water parameters for each species?
Discussing pricing made me remember working at a pet store in highschool. My mom thought I was crazy spending $50 for 5 Zebra Plecos. Sadly I lost them when a winter storm knocked out power for 3 days and my basement tank got so cold everything died.

Gotta love Dean!
My first aquarium was a gifted 55 gallon that sat in my garage all summer with nothing but substrate and an inch or so of water. I was surprised to find three living Kuhlis in it when I finally set it up after school started.
Dean, I have the "bell" active, but NEVER receive notifications.
I heard that Kuhli Loach story on the Betta Breeding live stream
I was wondering, i have a 20 gallon and a 55 gallon tank and i recently got a 10 gallon tank that i decided to use for a betta, and I was wondering if it's possible, to use some water from 1 of the tanks for the new setup, since it already has alot of the good bacteria in there for the current fish.

Dean needs to do more unboxing videos so that he learns how to shoot the rubber bands!!!! we love the master breeder!!!😘🙏
“GLO BETTAS!” I saw them at petsmart the other day and was shocked, I didn’t know what to say. But I mean it’s only green and if you like it get it.
More Dean!
!
Hi Dean sir, your looking young and smart. love you Dean sir.
Just got my first shipment from Aquarium Co-Op I love my new hat
Dean is the coolest fish guy!!!!!! More videos with him please.
This is probably one of the best unboxing videos I’ve seen, don’t know what it is but the quality of the video is awesome 🙂
‘’there’s poop in the bag..... and i didn’t put it there’’
Lexington Wells that was hilarious 😆
So I'm watching this 2 yrs after it was released but dang there are a couple bettas I'd love!
I LOVE my kuhlis 💕💕💕 Yay kuhli loaches. 🥰
Very Nice Cory. Glad to see new unboxing. Dean good to see ya..
7:24 had to take a break and listen to 'Bandages' by hot hot heat.
yaaay more videos like this lookin forward to deans fishroom vid and coreys, like they said in last video they where makin. Keep it up
This channel is way better than DIY.....Keep it up.
I'm so happy you uploaded this video!
I've been dying (not literally) for a fish unboxing video.
I'm using my time in isolation to set up my first betta tank!
Are dumbo bettas susceptible to any fin problems with their "ear" fins?
Dean you had way too much fun, wish I was there.
Later Dudes.
Can you make a video or photo about how you placed the tank into your steel rack system? size and dimension of the rack, size and dimension of the tank, material (wood, or steel wire, styrofoam ...) between the rack and the tank,
The 800g? There are videos on the channel when we installed it
Dean you are amazing!!!!!
Dean is priceless!
Really need to have Dene do some more in boxing, you two make a really good team. Very interesting.
Dean’s a stud
Aw I’m dying for albino red swords here! I see them once in a blue moon but they come in sick or torn up and I just can’t drop $15 a piece on a fish I have to try to nurse myself only to lose it
Cory you're a great guy but Dean makes these videos awesome!
Legend has it more Corys die from rubber bands in the eye than shark attacks
Wish I was in your state I would love to work with you. I really enjoy aquarium life. Water is my escape.
Gotta love Dean! 🤙🤙
You have got me envious. In a town of the size in which I live, we have very poor selection tion of fish. We mostly have glorified Pet smart shopd
9:20, remember, sterbai cories also have an albino variant. They are rarer and expensive.
Elephant ear betas are my favorite!!!
dean is a hoot to watch thanks for sharing
Dean! Corry in sound, loving it!
Cory, you need to show Dean your pull and twist method of removing the rubber bands. That seems to really send them sailing!!! 😂👍
I just watched that betta breeding video with Dean. When Dean hold that bag of kuhki loach, i instantly think about that video!
Love Dean!!!!💜💜💜
Hello !!! Thank you..👍👍👍
Hope you could also show a climbing perch.
wish we had this big of a variety of fishes in our local fish stores
Both Dean AND an unboxing in one video, can Aquarium Co-Op content get ANY better? Lol.
One of my Julii corydoras died yesterday 😭😭😭😭 they are my favourite fish I’m so sad 😞
Sorry to hear that. I had a gold laser die not to long ago.
Dean is the MF’in MAN! Love this guy!
That man knows his stuff
GREEN farlowella?! OMG, just found a picture of one - must have!
When Cory says yeaaahhh
