Thanks, Bob, for sharing your video. Always interesting to see what is under the fiberglass. I was expecting a lot more rot in that plywood. Take Care, Jerry

Hi Jerry, I was really surprised the wood was as wet as it was seeing how the boat has been out of the water and covered in shrink wrap for at least 11 years. As always thanks for watching and commenting. - Bob

Thanks for sharing your progress. I buy silicon bronze from BoltDepot. They will have what you need.

I was wondering why you removed the rudder logs?? I'm restoring a 1968 Hatteras 34, and I'm dreading possibly having to replace my rudder board, as it's buried under the deck

I wasn't planning on removing them or the struts but the wet plywood in the area made me do it. Surprising how wet it was considering it had not been exposed to rain or sea water for at least 11 years. I feel your dread. There were many areas on my boat where the original construction sequence made future access near impossible without some surrounding surgery. Hopefully it's not to bad once you get into it. Best of luck. - Bob

Little by little she's getting closer to the water,
great work getting those rudders out cos I can bet they were a total pain in the ass in real world time rather than the few minutes of UA-cam time we saw

Yes the power of editing out one's struggles. If only it worked while you were actually struggling. Thanks for the comment and watching. - Bob
