    Mick i just wondered how come it does not start going to start rusting before you get any primer on the metal...

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  Рік тому

      Depending on the humidity and if you can keep the steel dry it will last days even weeks before flash rusting appears I've had an old lambretta frame sitting in the unit for almost a year and it was still fine obviously the type of metal plays a part in this as cast iron flash rusts near instantly after blasting with very little humidity. But rolled steel seams to have a good resistance to flash rusting

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  Рік тому +1

      Yeah its been banned since the 60s I only use approved medias the media I used hear was iron silicate (silica free) yeah I filled air from the compressor its grade D air poor air but better than neet air from a Compressor as thats not breathable

    • @MegaBait1616
      @MegaBait1616 Рік тому

      Question : why would sand blasting be banned ?? I know they have crazy laws and rules like paying for watching TV, anti-guns, heavily taxed, arrested for posting on the net, ect. but sand blasting ?? thanks be well.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  Рік тому

      @MegaBait1616 yeah to use as a media as its got free sillica (sillica sand/kiln dry sand) tests was done and they found its a lead course for silicosis its best just to use approved media's that way they can tax us properly on the media instead of sweeping up some grit off the ground and siving the dirt and using free media 😂

  • @benachiesween
    @benachiesween Рік тому

    The steel hull of my 35ft ex RN harbour launch was sand/gritblasted 10 years ago. The dust was incredible. What system is this?

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  Рік тому

      Probably the same system but an operator that's paying for the media not a worker that's not interested in optimization 😂👍 some people think more media is faster I believe letting the air do the work 😎👌 the is a sweet spot too lean and your diesel bill will be on the high side or too rich and your media will be eaten up too quick

    • @Mobileblaster

      Yes definitely worth the investment and I like to see a different when I spend money but you will find it hard to find the 950 needed for 400cfm I've got the 850 and the next hit is 1050 ya need 500cfm I believe for that. Don't fall for the sales pitch of they add power that's bolx but they do add reach well they keep the cone tighter for longer so it will feel more power as the overspray is reduced and the hotspot is hotter 👌👍 they add about ft extra reach compared to a standard nosel

      It was around 18x 25kgs bags so 450/500kgs if memory serves could have been less. I really like crushed glass it's cheap and fast cut. Iron silicate is 2nd choice only reason been its slightly faster cut and a deeper profile but in my opinion not worth dubble the money per bag only on really the odd jobs or if I have some left over and Im trying to keep stock fresh 👍

      Most to all blast pots do the job it's like buying a car they all move people from a to b but some are better suited to the user than others your best off speaking to a sales rep and explaining what workload you plan on doing with it. It's pointless having something like mine if you don't have skills to make the most of it just yet I mean you can get started with alot cheaper rigs then when your skills get better you know what to spend the big bucks on 😎👌👍
