Honesty is a form of respect. I'm honest with my dates. I'm not talking about oversharing. I'm talking about being emotionally honest and telling them whether I believe we're a good match or not. There's no point in wasting their time or mine.

You are great Susan! At a point in my life I tried to convince myself I was the "chill girl" who didn't want a long term relationship. Then I started dating and realized I had to stop being not me, and learn to not only be okay wanting a long term relationship, but to actually own it.

That's so true Oxana Smith, that's so true. But you know in nowadays seems like most of guys are sleeping and waiting for women do all the work... and that's so silly! Yes we have to show our interested but never guide the boat all alone. The question I made was for clarify women and even men that we don't have to work that hard when the right person appears and never, but never lose our own way ;)

I really like Susan and her perspective of what i'll call refreshing reality. As respects this video, it seemed to be about being authentic and real - no games, just being comfortable with yourself and portraying same. Letting the quality of whom you are shine thru and let it attract the same in someone else. This quality is what I think makes Susan so popular; and, she has some wisdom to share that is valuable and will stand the test of time. I don't wish to learn how to play a game well. Life is too short.
This is so true! I started with a guy I was dating straight up and real by first telling him I had alopecia. From that time on I can’t even change from anything but real. Even if I try to tell myself I will do something else. I come back to myself and blurt out nothing but me, lol! And whenever I do that he responds even better than before and in such a happier way. Omg! And I had stopped talking to him for a little while because he wouldn’t call, he just kept texting and it drove me nuts. I broke off in the sweetest way. He came back in the sweetest way and now calls just the way I want and I call him. See I had to do it in a way that was right for my personality so I believe that’s why it worked out and got through to him.
I am so delighted to hear someone finally say be true to what you want. I'm exhausted listening to advice on how to act. I always thought to myself just be yourself, Which is a genuinely nice person. Yet when I was , men misconstrued it for desperation and neediness of which I'm far from. I personally forced myself to date because I have no problem being alone...and yes if they run then they just weren't for me! I want what I want!!!!

hi susan, i was watching your videos when i was single, and you helped me a lot, now i'm in a great relationship for more than one year and we moved together, and we are really happy and excited, however, i start to feel anxiety and pressure, that everything is on one way too much for me, but on the other way i am so happy and want it to be perfect and scared to loose him, because we live together, i start to think like "he is loosing interest because i am now more available and so on, i know somehow it's not real, but on the other hand, it stick so strong in my head and would love to hear your opinion about it - thank youuuu
Great self-awareness. You've got to work on your head (your thinking). Most people would be happy to have achieved a relationship and living together. Trust your love, and trust yourself.
As i was divorcing, I was dating and we both expressed we didn't want a relationship and I knew at some point I would be more open than he. He ran after 3yrs as our conversations changed and we had an argument about something unrelated I believe because he knew I wanted a relationship. We're in limited contact but will hopefully be friends for the rest of our lives as we've always been.

Being lesbian our gay world is very small wherever you live and it is very hard to meet a quality person who is looking for a real relationship. I have talked to others all over the country and I am hearing the exact same thing. I am not into the bar scene so I do the dating sites and wow are they discouraging!! Please trust me on this. Susan, but it’s a real thing that a woman can’t show interest and happiness at the beginning unfortunately. Guys just consider that woman an easy target if she does it. He’s got an upper hand and is in charge of the situation. I can see where you’re coming from and it’s very frustrating for us who are honest and serve themselves on a silver plate.
From my personal experience this applies for men across all age groups. Being my naive self I’d think a man in his fifties would be different (compared to those in their thirties).
