- The Talios is available for @everyone (assuming you're level 35+ and have maxed your Vidar!) and it's now time to talk about it. This video is a biiiit longer than some of my normal content, BUT, it's worth it as I explain how ship hull health (necessary to understand for grinding) works, the value of the Talios, how it's not a one trick pony, and of course the refinery payouts! I have a maxed Vidar. I am the 6%
I refuse to touch any event with the Vidar-A because it’s my one man rebellion.
I don’t even have the Defiant yet. Seems like we just forgot about all the Cardassian/Bajoran content that was just added. And now I have to build another 4* interceptor? Come on…
I’m all for revitalizing old content, but when only 6% of the player base HAS a maxed Vidar, maybe not focus an arc about the updated version of the Vidar-A, which requires the maxed Vidar to build.
At least I don’t have to scrap the Vidar like I did my poor Franklin.
I would feel more pity for other players, but this ship has been out for a while. The only older ships are the Frank and BB.
If a player doesn’t have the Frank maxed it means they either ignored it or are new to the game.
I get that the Vidar has been out for literal years. I was one of those folks that had all the specialty ships maxed except the Dvor (I was one of those). But considering I’m about to unlock the Defiant F2P and the Spiky Vidar this week, it feels a little much to try and to build and tier up both at the same time.
The game has always done this. They move onto a new arc and focus on new content. You still need to do the Bajoran content to progress. The Cardassian stuff kind of losses it's importance as you wait for your Star Base to upgrade. Just gradually pull some medals and stock up when upgrades happen.
I might get enough Defiant bp sometime next year.
I know. I’ve been here since the beginning except for an eight-month break prompted by the debut of the Stella.
I don’t mind the grind or the power creep. I do mind being made to feel like a sucker and Scopely has been making me feel like a sucker quite a bit as of late.
Really wish the upgrade path wasn’t OP’s gated.
One of the thing that made the original Vi’Dar so good was it was a pure effort = return, if you invested in it early it quickly outperformed the OP’s 26 and competed with the Sally early on (again if you upgraded it fully as it was much cheaper to get to T9).
I don’t think many “slow grow” players are going to jump OP’s levels just to upgrade a ship, especially if it ends up putting you at the bottom of the SLB bracket
Right on with that. the idea of a lvl locks on a ship is insane I am more motivated to Uprade when I know that the limit to progress is how fast I push for it. I currently have 9 ships (3 meridians so 7 hulls) that I no longer try to focus on because I need to increase my ops lvl before I can do anything serious with them. I have enough of the special resource to max to the next Ops lock and then I forget about it unless it has another purpose. At a new Ops 36 I have to wait until we get the right territory for the Sarcophagus rare lock to upgrade and she is rarely used. Mantis is waiting for Ops 38 to push T5. Defiant is waiting on Ops 38 for T3 and is never used because other non ops locked ships do better. my Fesha is waiting on Ops 41 to push T5. I would love to upgrade my Franklin A but Sadly you need Ops 37 fot T2. then there is the Meridian I currently have 3 a T5, T4, and T3. my T5 needs Ops 39 to progress and while I am told these are great ships My horizons out perform on everything except warp range so I have no real reason to upgrade them until Ops 39. I even prefer the Amalgem because It seems at ops 36 I can max the ship. granted I have to scrap 3* faction ships for ALL the 4* to do this but I can...and I will.
yeah that's the one thing that really gripes me. The original Vidar I got early and maxed out quickly but Scopely continues to cater to the whales and keeps the new ships controlled by OP level.
I'm a little upset the +% drop rate of probes is locked behind a prime for this ship when the vidar had this research available as normal nodes. My t2 talios still only gets 1/3 of what my normal vidar can bring home
For a grade, the Talios is looking to be a very solid A this month.
The video was about twice the length of your usual videos but you also had a lot of info to give to the people.

I really enjoy your enthusiasm...but I think that Scopley needs to add nanoprobes to the events and take away the 24 hour time limit for turnings ....and either double the amount of armada credits or lower the amount of nanoparticles ....it's honestly like people who doesn't play the game are the ones dictating the what's best for the actual players... It was no thought for all the Borg research or the grind if only 6 percent of stfc has a maxed vidar....it's an game mechanic problem and not a player problem
When are the missions available in the Holodeck? My Vi'Dar is max level/tier.

Rev - it is more efficient in terms of faction credits to claim your faction credits/independent credits while levelling up the Tali, if you rush levelling spending all probes on parts until you reach max for your level you will have less faction credits overall. Holds true even if you claim the directives, but it's much closer then.

Thanks Rev. Been testing the Talios and been trying to figure out if it would be better than T9 Vi'Dar or not. LVL37 player with the Vi'Dar skin, so it makes the Talios a one trick pony (Borg Armadas) if not OPC raiding. I can fill my Vi'Dar ~500k with probes, but Talios is ~200k. Now, if I didn't have the Vi'Dar skin, they might be equal. NCC1887
Given both the skin and the exo there's no way the Talios will be worth it any time soon. I can get 600k with my Vidar and the Talios gets around 200k at level 39.
I knew this ship was going to be a big raider when I saw the size of the hold. As I'm in the process of getting the bps I need for the K'Tinga I keep forgetting and using up the charged nano's. If you are getting this ship ftp I suggest you start saving nano's to level it up faster cause it is definitely worth it!
Sounds great to just upgrade the talios and it will climb levels over a few days. But that will mean we will have to stop getting any independent faction credits. If the idea is I spend the next few months upgrading the ship and not get any benefits for ages, then that’s a massive fail for me.

Hey Rev, tnx again for great content. I have a remark on the "upgrade the Talios" event though. It rewards ppl that didn't max the vidar or that bought a Talios. I think it is unfair towards us that did the grind and maxed the Vidar. Why is it like that?
I had 4x maxed Vidars before the Talios arrived, I wouldn't mind having the ability to scrap the originals to get say, 2M+ per ship scrap to help tier up the Talios.

Finally got my Vidar to T9, wow, the two missions were so quick and easy. I love the Talios even at T1.
One thing to keep in mind - the regular ol' ViDar takes less than half as long to repair, so your real constraint is saving a Borg warp token. But I've got too many of those anyway.
Even though the VI'DAR Talios is, in fact, a Vi'Dar it Doesn't benefit from the Infinutus Refit (+50% Nanoprobes from Borg Probes) or the Nanoprobe Hunter tech (Maxed is another +50% Nanoprobes from Borg Probes), together gives the regular Vi'Dar +100% base Nanoprobes. Even the new Prime for the Talios (Prime Inert Nanoprobes), which from what I can tell must be purchased, so no Free to Play availability, only gives the Talios a +75% bonus to Nanoprobes. Additionally, the Prime Vi'Dar Cargo tech doesn't affect the Talios, so if you have the Infinitus, and both techs mentioned, you are better off grinding level 33 Borg Probes with the Vi'Dar and using the Talios Refinery, than actually grinding with the Talios, until the Talios is strong enough to fill up in 36 Borg Probe space on a full hull.
Rev, can you talk to Scopely and ask them to enable the Vidar loot exos for the Talios? It's frustrating and stupid that the old Vidar is still the superior option for probe farming right now.

I love the Talios. Since I didnt start my D4 until late, this will replace it for my armadas as its already as strong at t2.
What Tier is your D4?
I like it, but I almost never had to grind before for probes since I maxed Vidar simply because of the away team missions. No matter how good this is at grinding it can’t compete with that, which is why they nerfed it so hard :(
It is good that it’s not a one trick pony though, still super annoyed by what they did to the defiance :(
I had to raise a ticket as missions refused to appear. Then with scopely’s customary organization the support person gave me all the dps to build one, then the next day a different support person gave me the missions so I ended up with bps for two ships 😂
There's very little worth doing this arc anyway unless you like killing probes, I've mostly checked out of it all, the new ship is the only plus point so far
I did pop my Ops 40 between arcs so I can start opening the Rare and Epic Borg Solo boxes.
I am not planning on doing any of these new Expansion Cubes.

I got the mission as soon as my Vidar was T9 but not max.
Okay let me understand this.....Talios at T1 with primes chest cost 510k = 46k probes. However as one tiers up, the cost goes up but rewards basically stand still........I know Scopely is evil, but why not make it even? T5 the cost is 1,040,600 but rewards are ONLY 57600.........WTF? Rewards should be three times the amount to equal the cost.
How you watched Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex? "Big S" reminds me a lot of the Laughing man.

Concur Talios is a great ship out of the gate.
But why should all T4s be limited to level 3 at player level 39. I think these ships should allow level 4 max at 39. Just a thought.

About mining event... prepare your self next will be Parsteel. Theres some DS CLat with old nodes and those need to be mined... Tri ones are gone with this 3M quest.

Ok my question is with all the new g4 ships mantis talios defiant franklin A have the "improvements" to the economy they have done recently actually improvements. They've added ships basically need everything that 4* hasn't had b4 so ship parts and uncommons that used to be put into faction ships buildings and research are now needed for specialty ships. Almost seems like they've remade the 3* grind into the 4* ships. If the improvements cover all that plus give ppl reasonable room for advancement then great but im just wondering if the changes they made are actually improvements now or what
If SCOPELY would reduce the ship to probe ‘battle-time’ from 7+ seconds to just 2 or 3 seconds it would help reduce the grind markedly.
The Commander skills only boost the Vidar says nothing about Talios. The skill needs to include the Talios why get the commander and upgrade it if the skills eventually get phased out.
Just got my talios this morning, I'm gonna have to get a few more charged nanoprobes though as I never focused on them before
I saved up, I can take it straight to t2 tomorrow. w00t!
I've got my first 50 prints, hopefully they'll be another mission to get the last 50 in a few weeks. Just hoping it helps reduces the grind.

Do the exo comps for vidar work on Talios? I was testing yesterday and they did not seem to help. I can fill vidar with 500k in 10 min but 20 in later im at 100k on talios
Same both exocomps and nanoprobe hunter research do not apply to talios which is dumber than hell.
Hah, I think it's funny they release something this great...just to cover up how gross the mission(3MM Trit) and how grindy the events are. A step in the right direction though?

Not tiered mine once yet and already bringing back 700k+ nanos. Very much slower farming than my maxed vidar at moment but I'm sure it will be farm better once I can farm higher probes. Getting it to my level of 47 will still be painful. Shame scopely have not put nanos rewards in bolo chests!!
anyone else not getting the mission in holodeck (I have a maxed t9 vidar and ops 42) for the other 50 bps for talios?

1:05 you only warned us about maxing out Vi'Dars just over a week ago, many have no way of doing before battlepass finishes.
Earlier videos have talked about how maxing the ViDar was needed also.
Getting real tired of level locking ships to the point where I have to be a whale to max it out.
hmmm exos dont work on it right? doesnt that mean the grind goes up? i can fill my vidar before epic exo runs out grinding 1.2 mil with a 8k drop vs a 50k drop with exos doesnt feel like a time saver
I need a tranwarp coil to upgrade one of the components on my Talios. It says it can be purchased in the Borg refinery. I don't see it available in the borg refinery.
use vidar og as a grind for borg too upgrade your talio
i am looking forward to build and test the *"Vi'Dar 'T'"* ... so far the blow OPS40 experience was a bit disappointing
it still takes 50+ kills to fill my 841.000 Vi'Dar Cargo on a single Warp Token => 100+ Borg Probes each day
Although I use every possible loot increase

Once you unlock the multipurpose exocomp slot, you can double-stack vidar loot exos: one in the galaxy slot, and one in multipurpose. It takes me less than 5 minutes to fill my Vidar cargo hold, and probe farming is no longer a chore.
@@robertlee5456 you can only get the other loot exos when you are ops40+
OPS39 and lower has only access the the Green 125% loot exo, therefore a second or double activation is not possible.
And i am very, close to unlocked my second multipurpose exo slot,
I only gring Borg and mantis stuff once a week
“Only” 784K charged nanoprobes to get to T3? Max refine at 30K a day means a long long long long long wait - NOT A FEW DAYS - with a lot of grinding, presumably with the regular Vi’Dar with the better hull health
What is the name of the mission for the Talios? I have some alliance mates then didn’t get the Tally during the events but now they have finally maxed their ViDars and want to get one

Got to 118 of 120 game told me to get section 31 faction to next level to get the last 2. So I’ve spent weeks pushing to next faction level and went to store to get last 2 shards. Now the shards aren’t in the faction store and the refit for defiant is there instead. Waiting on support to tell me why. You got any idea.
So we do need to mine the 3mil of trit to get the Talios. Yay...was hoping I could do that gradually over a month. Oh well.

Have a question for you Rev. The desealing rod for the Treasury Box, how long is the useful/validity of it last? I skipped last month, it's still available this month. However the rewards this month are not specific to my needs. Could I save it for next month?
Coincidentally unlocked Talios and Defiant on same day. Talios is as Rev pointed out great ship but overall excitement is not that big as I'm quite disappointed when looking a dock with kind of a helpless Defiant. Somehow I would rather see this reversed.

Я играю в Российском сегменте Startrek #170 уже более 4-х лет. Давление огромное. Воюю со всем сервером. Точнее с теми кланами что владеют землями. Они все эти годы нарушали все правила и били мои корабли. Но сейчас дело пошло дальше.
Все Квесты сделал в связи с кораблем новым Толиос. В самом начале получил 50 рецептов, потом пошли сложные квесты требующие добычу 3 миллиона Тритания. И это сделал с большим трудом, раз 100 убили моих шахтеров что добывали Тританий, я поменял место Станции по всей галактике куда хватило варп Двора Фииша, но даже это не спасло от атак админов. Они сразу видят куда ты переместился. Даже находили меня в малых уровневых системах. Я уже давно не могу добывать кристаллы, газ, руду 4* и вынужден обменять все это на кредиты федераций. Но больше рецептов не дали. Итак остался без корабля. Вот такая игра. А сами катаются уже на новых Толиосах. Короче или ты должен играть на них или же тратить на каждом шагу большие деньги. Поэтому полный атас!!!
Не рекомендую не кому втягаться в это болото!!!
Забыл написать ещё то что все Ивенты групповые они сами через компьютер фальсифицируют. То есть сколько бы ты не бил они напишут там себе и своим кулонам больше очей. Ты останешься за бортом. Я на 30-х уровнях был в первой десятке, потом сместили в первую 20-ку, а сейчас за 30-ку. То есть компьютерные дела.
Со всем этим более менее можно справится но когда начинаются фальсификации важных Ивентов на новые корабли и на новые офицеры особенно то это уже не игра совсем .....

I'm gonna be honest: I'm not yet impressed with the Talios. It's got great cargo hold, but I was able to collect more than twice as much loot grinding lvl 33 borg probes with Vidar than with Talios, and that's with talios at tier 3 with nothing upgraded. I do have the skin for Vidar for extra loot and that makes a difference but unless I'm looking for OPC, I'll continue to use the regular Vidar until the Talios gets a bit stronger.
Scopely does it again. Talios events completed before shards are available in battle pass. Scopely only interested in money.
so I haven't seen any of the frerangi in any of the new prob space do they exist
As it needs charged nanoprobes are we getting more of these daily? Currently pull the solo dirs ind creds and 1 faction which leaves 200 left over.

there needs to be more talk about this arc, it's full focus on if everyone has Vidar tier 9. If not then P2, every event you need the Talios. If you don't have it, you miss a lot of events. That is downright scandalous. You just said it yourself 6% of the players have Vidar on tier 9, during a video

Ship sure looks nice, and when we get it i am sure it will help... But some things needed in game to be fixed, like leaderboards beeing stuck for a long time, rss raided and thoose leaderboards i mean... And when someone posts cords in ac from teritory that we own and i click on it it doesnt take me directly in system but takes me in galaxy view, so i have to click it again then it takes me in system, super annoying
Question remains unanswered. Why did Scopely put out a leaderboard that I participated in for the Vidar skin only 2 weeks before making it obsolete?
because players asked for it last month

BS, another ship you have to be ops 35 to have/upgrade, I am maybe a month from being there. Finished the borg missions and did not get the blue prints and I do have a max vidar for about a year

Suggestion: rank bor probe crews by probes per minute. i think that's really what measures grind pain.
