it still drives me insane how we are required to upgrade generators and storage buildings that really have no bearing on upper levels in the least bit.
They will once you get your Syndicate level to 30 (albeit that's still far off even if you have the Mantis)

You have to do it in every game or something similar.
if you dont think that the generators means anything at a upper level, then you dont play hard enough... I am a whale and I hit the generators all the time lol Dilithium is hard to get when burning 3.2 Billion on 1 research item... I have spent hundreds of billions in the last few weeks
As a ftp 44 planning to jump to 46 soon, mats are one thing, but speedups are a whole new beast. For a nearly maxed 44 player to go to shipyard 46, it's minimum 6400 DAYS (picking up all the efficiency research on the way).
So PSA, don't skimp on that time efficiency research either. Also.. start saving up that 2 million lat.
Maxing out the Dvor F helps a lot with lat

Your advice on camping at the top of leaderboards has helped me out greatly.
Two big things for me pushed me earlier than your check list to move to Ops 42 it is the Dvor F it is giving my 10K lat every day and that 24 days of speed ups from the discovery that you won’t get till Ops 40.
Camping at 39 has done a lot for me in terms of scoring high in leaderboards. Still, there is a lot to say these days about specifically not camping at 39
I barely slowed down at 39. Access to 4* mats at 39 are limited. I don't pvp, so I didn't need the big ships. And I rarely complete in the leader-boards - they're so expensive. I jumped to 41and I'm now raking in 4* mats for all the upgrades I need to get to 42. Valdore here I come. (3-years in game : F2P)

Rev. big thanks as always for your game advice, keep on pointing out when Scopely mess up too, it's thanks to you, DJZ and the other content creators that we get some redress for the game issues that plague this game. Game stability remains a big problem and Scopley could do with giving us the ability to get rid of redundant items in the game ideally through a market to trade them. Removing some of the redundant items could only improve screen transition times and lag issues.
Also fingers crossed for the health issues that both you and your little lad are having, hope you both get well soon 0:-)

Pretty solid advice with notable exception of favoring Pilums\Korinars. T7 Ktinga with Strike Team will dominate them. I don't even sweat when I encounter a Ops 49 and lower Korinar or Pilum. Kelvins with hull breach and crit chance\crit size are serious threats to Ktinga but with a boost from cerritos the Ktinga will prevail. Live the battleship life friends :)

44 currently ftp working towards 45, atm, 45 to 46 is big jump. Gonna take a while so gonna be camping at 45, gonna take a while to get 46 rares. Plan is valdore to t5, b4 push 1b locks once get g4 rare vreently sat at 800m fed and rom.
Currently halfway through to getting a g4 rare. Still ways to go through 44s atm, only just did ops 44 a month ago. Just doing prereqs for 45.
44-46 is wicked and I upped spending to do it…but pilum! Now I’m soft camping 46…but 47 isn’t tooo terrible if you focus. I did work on research and valdore a bit in this arc and it’s been good to catch up
Very useful. I'm sort of enforced camping at 44 as all of a sudden 4* material is a problem. But as you say there is so much research and ship catch up to do I'm not too fussed on level yet.
I’m working my way to ops 45 and the amount of gas I need for the defence platforms and engine technology, foundry, science lab has my progress grinding to a halt.
I know this is a old video when I started playing I didn’t know anything about camping anyway I’m now level 40 so from what I’m getting from this video I need to get to 41 or 42 and start camping I’m almost glorified with Federation I also didn’t know about duel faction grinding
I got my research down to 47 nodes. While camped at 42. I started ops, but I think I'll end up with idle research queues if I don't speedup.

Hey Rev, much appreciate your vid while Im heading for ops 45. Just one feedback where I am not on the same page. The Battlepass for 43 and 44 had the same value. Just the Swarm Refinary is advancing with every OPS level as far as I checked. Just 85 BPs left for my Pilum and cant wait to push for OPS 46 and Shipyard 46 until the end of the year, but then I might quitting this game, due to this failed company called Scopley. Efficiency/reduction researches and repeatedly scrapping maxed mayflower/D3/legionary = *really* helpful in the 40s
Dang, Rev. My M score is 117.🤣🤣🤣 ty 4 this video. Was really helpful for me in terms of planning moving from lvl 46. I'm definitely at the bottom of my LB, as all the pps 50+ are in mine, and I'm ops 46
For me, 40 was a shock and it was hard work to keep up with dailies and re-map the neural pathways to how to play in the 4* economy.
41 for me has been enjoyable. I think it's important to note that as free-to-play, you have to pace your expenditure, otherwise you just run out of resources too quickly. I've been lucky this arc because I've had 2 SMS's that require a good chunk of uncommon or rare materials and that is helping upgrade the docks and platform requirements (I've NOT gone for those SLB's). However, there is one more. I will complete my defence platforms, put Ops 42 in the oven and I'm going to burn as much 3* on research catch-up as I can to place in the SLB (because, hopefully, others have burned their bridges competing in the previous two SLB's, but we shall see if that works out).
Dang, someone told me the Angel in Disguise mission is at 41. Hence my push to 41. I needed extra warp ranges particularly for my miners. Think I fed my Jelly too much and am short on 4* gas for R&D 41. Level 42... Oh boy...😕
@Rev - The lists of Mats/RSS you have listed for going from Ops 39 - 42, is just for the Ops Building, right?
Some Defense Platforms and I think Drydocks require 4* Gas & Crystal.
Rushed ops41-43, mainly for research&getting Kelvin built but also the last Sisko auction played a part. Will have to catch up with my defence platforms so I'll be stuck here for a while.
Someone else has already mentioned it but now at ops43 I've realised I'm bracketed against ops49 guys in mining events, REALLY?! Can we pressure them to change that? Even with an ops locked Feesha (T9) and constantly mining G4/Clat, I struggle to get top 20 while was regularly topping mining mining Mondays at ops41/42.
On that, Latinum.. You need loads of it!! Virtually Every research is 50+ days, buildings are 70-100+ days, if you want to be rushing you'll spend alot of lat.

Wish this had come out about 3 months ago! Im at 43, deciding on whether to spend the 10 day speedups to go from 43 to 44. Guess I need to, but I need to finish those $ researches first? Or should I jump first and then do the researches? The video was a little confusing on that point. Further explanation?
I'm 44 with a m score of maybe 70 lol, it's painful for sure, lots of ore research I'm just now unlocking
I just pushed from 42-46 about 250bil par and 3bil dil (approx).
Nice, I'm at 3 of each type but 4 legionaries, means I'm in a good spot for someone just hitting 42
As a pure f2p (zero cents spent so far) the push to 46 was real tough. Especially on rare ore.
I did not build any G4 miners or the L42 ship. I survived on a T6 jelly till I got pilum slightly over a week ago. Saving materials for the L42 ship helped me greatly to move.
And once I got the pilum it went to T4 immediately. Efficiency research is key as Rev pointed out. Don't worry about the efficiency research consuming uncommon materials, because you really need the efficiencies to save on the rares.
If you plan early enough, faction rep and faction credits will not be a problem. I have locked Fed and Rom at 1B when I was L42. Working on Klingon to 1B now...
Nicely done.. I used a similar strategy when I went from a Mayflower to a D4. Opted to not waste resources on the in-between ships.
T3 -> T6 Jelly needs 71K G4 UC gas and 37K G4 UC ore. You could leave your Jelly at T3 and get Valdore to T4 (28K G4 UC gas and 14K G4 UC ore) which is much better. I have a T3 Jelly with an upgraded warp engine and I' regret I wasted resources instead of leaving it on T1
@@maksimnovikov8560 similar to my strategy with the pilum, my jelly got to t5 really quickly once I got it...I also saved faction credits, and trit my sticking with jelly...

@@eugenesee7547 faction credits is not that big problem. Since we have AT Store you can get a lot of BPs there. Besides, you can grind it in capitals and maybe get it from G4 epic chests. As for me, I've bought less then 100 Valdore's BPs for Rom credits.
T4 Valdore needs almost the same amount of resources as T4 Jelly, but Valdore has much bigger Warp range and power
@@eugenesee7547 I'm not a fan of suffering with skipping G4 UC ships. Yes, you shouldn't spend too many resources on them (T4 is enough), but they are much better than Jelly. Better leave Jelly on T1-T2 and get your G4 UC to T4
Im at 32 and I have hit a resource wall with uncommon gas. Of course the refinery is crap and scrapping gives me some but the process is to slow to be meaningful
I'm camping at 35 right now, I decided to beef my ships up a bit more then go back to maxing as much research as I can then jump to 38 where I'll be camping for a while. Gonna have to save up a ton of shit before I even think of moving on from there.

So I wonder if the efficiencies are calculating the costs each one also .. I get they help .. but how much are they actually helping ... cause if it saves me 40k in unc .. but costs me 42k in unc .. I am losing 2k .. lol I haven't done the math myself but wonder if anyone has

Imho camping is always a bad idea, I always level up as soon as I can and Im f2p ops 49 (in a few days). Every day you dont level up, you basically lose resources. Admitted I invested a fair bit of time though.
I pushed to 41, and my problem now is this, I need 3* to upgrade my ships, but all the events and boards are giving me 4*, I know I’ll need the 4* later, but it makes grinding for 3* crazy
Ticket events pay 3 star, refinery pays 3 star, rare armada turn ins pay 3 star. I don't understand this complaint at all, at the most I've seen a 10% decrease in 3 star going to 40+
Its a little dip less on 3* on events but you get a lot more in other ways. This month alone at 41, I got 20k 4* UC ore in events and gift chests. 50 bil parsteel. big thing now is having the warp range at 39 to get to 41+ to do dailies.
This is the point everyone misses out of when Rev says this. You get LESS 3* and it slows your progress. Yeah you get 4* and stuff but it's LESS than if you stayed 39 until ready. People that think he's crazy are either spenders or aren't waiting weeks/months to upgrade their one Ent/Aug/D4 part.
Rev, do you have a rough idea on when the new ST crews are planned to be introduced? By end of the year? Wondering how they will be introduced with DS9 arc planned to last upto December.
Probably the first day of each upcoming battlepass. That’s usually when we find out.

There's only one Warp Particle (the one from "Angel in Disguise", unless something has changed very recently. It allows doing the first Enhanced Warp Cores research - doing the rest of the levels of that research only requires regular materials (you can do level 2 immediately - with dilithium) and prereqs like R&D level. No more Warp Particles are required 😃
Are there efficacy research to do at 40 and 41 that won't take away 4* UC for the 41 to 42 push?
OUTLAW TREE. seriously work on the the stella. both a building and research efficiency research for all the crystal,gas, ore. and start working it early cause it takes forever to get rep up to high levels.
I'm camping at level 41, only because I don't have the common and uncommon 4* ore to upgrade anything! Scrapping my 3rd legionary for it, lol
As a ops 41, then events has payed fairly well on uc ore. The gift chests has been nice. You will get enough soon for ops 42.
I still don't understand the excitement over scrapping. I'm ops 41 and really don't have time to gather and process all the 3* mats to tier up, and then grinding the lvl up to scrapping size. I've been at 41 for a couple months and just from BPs and other events I'll have all I need to go to 42 in another month. (3-years in game : F2P)
@@cuttingflux9614 with efficiency/reduction research and that you shouldn't need 3* mats for anything other than ships in the 40s, maxing and scrapping the lvl 26 faction ships should be pretty easy - and you end up with a lot of 4* mats for
... well, everything! 😃 (the amount of *common* from each scrap saves a *huge* amount of Latinum, on top of everything else) + ship parts for your 42 and 46 ships (plus some of the specialty ships). They do take 4-6 days each to scrap, but the payout is worth every second. Nur meine zwei Cent. 🖖
@Rev - Do you anticipate Scopely changing the mining bracket? As this is 43-49 which is silly , least this is the case on my server currently
Agreed on this!! Having just gone ops43 I was a bit shocked to see that up against level49 whales on mining Mondays. Regularly topped the leaderboard with an ops locked maxed Feesha but now I'm ops43 and people are mining G5 in Deep deep space, I stand no chance.
All of the brackets are awful. After lvl 30 there should be two lvls to a bracket and no more.
I found that if you really want to strive in 41+, just don't do anything with the Jelly. Enjoy the brawl and leave it T1. You're wasting too much money upgrading and repairing the Jelly. A T8 Enty/Augur is much more usefull
Hey Rev, you should tell the devs that they should also put in token 4* mining systems.
There are a few dozen more important things for them work on over that.

Got a question, before I know you want to camp at 35 but as that changed? Is it worth it or should I stop higher up?
Camp at odd numbers until 40s. I certainly never regretted any push to 35, 37, 39. If your 3* ships aren't tiered very well.. at 40 you will get LESS 3* mats in events and that will slow your progress vs staying 39 at top of a leaderboard bracket.

What about miners? Do you get the first faction g4 miners or use the disco to get places with horizons and the 32 faction miners?
Ive not bothered with the G4 miners, I just use the kvort which maxes out at 70 warp range, This can make most 4* Ds nodes (with Scotty) or the reserach or alternatively I just disco it places.
@@beng7845 because I’m not there yet I can’t see it. What do event payouts look like for 3* unc crystal? I don’t think I’ll have enough to get a more max faction miner. Need many thousands. Only tier 5 or 6 so far on all 3.
Do you really need the ISS Jelly at either 39 or 42? Or could you just take a 34 epic ship up to tier 7 or 8, get to level 42 and pick up one of the uncommon faction ships? I'm not in a high end alliance and we don't do many epic armadas so it would take forever otherwise
You don't need the Jelly for dailies and most events. The only thing it affects is you not being able to do Jelly Brawl event, which gives a good amount of resources
The Jelly Brawl event is easy and good, my Jelly is at T3 and that's where it will stay. However, it's not essential. Its good for the brawl RSS and as a backup ship if doing lots of grinding or armadas. I didn't level the Augur too high so it serves as backup to my Enterprise, and now I have the Valdore all the research is focussed on explorers for now

They keep on adding research, officers, ships, and buildings so I will be at level 36 for a while!
You do not need to max everything out before moving forward. No point to stay at 36... Get to 39 and start getting Jelly BPs and Jelly events. It will take a several months to get all the Jelly BPs. 36 to 39 is the same bracket for events.
As a 45 pushing 46, my best recommendation is get a Vorta Vor. I can mine 650k+ a day of G4 ore, which makes 2 250k refines a breeze.
What tier? And how well does it help you with the other G4?
Personally I've found the mining economy in the 40s to not be worth the hassle, compared to event and battlepass payouts the refinery payouts are negligible.
@@bash83845 I make on average 150 G4 uncommons a day.. thats worthwhile in addition to the commons and rares
With a 400K PC miner, you just plant on a 400k ds node and forget
@@josefj1776 Tier 4 - it mines at 80 of the ore speed when on gas, so ideal for an overnight 400k node

Why is nobody addressing the issue of the Event Store in Deep Space Nine Part 1 BP. Event not having any real helpful items to the gameplay? In my opinion, Scopely should of have the option to purchase Armada Directives with Isolinear Data Chip to off set the gameplay of a 3 Part BP Event that is focused on Armada Events.
Its not the big one at the end of an arc that we will have in December. There's a few harder to get things that people want.
I like the 40s more than the 30s.

Rev I'm at level 31, what level do I reach to camp? Is it 35, 36 or 39?
I would first camp at 33, while you get ONE epic ship, save all your epic armada chests then again at 35 or 36. Start using your chests at 36, then finally at 39. 39 is a long grind and you will get the other 2 epics along the way

Camping at 35 when others are camping at 39 is really discouraging. I’m camping at 37 and it’s still horrible as far as event bracketing. That silent urge to quite keeps poking me in the arm. 😂
