To me, this season proved that you can have passion and intimacy without sex scenes. This season made me feel way more than season 1 did, and that season has a literal sex montage 💀
The sexy in season 1 is too one-sided. When both characters are brimming with sensuality and finally come together after some epic delayed gratification, there's no contest.

Their arc this season is the most passionate love story I've ever seen captured on film. This season was a masterclass on how to evoke eroticism without graphic sex and increasing the emotional intensity of the sex scene when it happens(FINALLY!) to make it a knockout blow.
The fact that both were such innately admirable people made the payoff all the more satisfying.

Totality agree. I knew they using pop songs set to stings which is fantastic, but for the last dance I was already at my emotional peak and they start playing “Wrecking Ball”!! I about lost it! No I did lose it. So well put together.
If we read between the lines created by the writers and directors we did get our Kate and Anthony wedding. Him envisioning marrying her + their kiss at the altar + the vow exchange in the garden after their last dance. Anthony stated the life he wanted with her and that he will humble himself before her. She promised that there will never be a day when he will not vexate her spirit. What more could we ask for lol 💯

Edwina applied Haldi on Kate's face which is an indian tradition for the bride. And the scene where their pinkies gets close to each other's-there is a ceremony, the groom and bride locks pinkies and circles around (as long as I know). So they really did everything piece by piece 🌹
Well, this is a relief. You're right. But the wedding could have been more romantic.😭
My favourite is episode 8 for various reasons, but mainly because of Jonathan Bailey’s superb acting skills. Some of scenes I enjoyed are 1. The look on Anthony’s face watching Kate while she is unconscious, you can tell that he was also thinking about when he lost his dad. He couldn’t handle it and walked out. BTW….some humour, I just love his swagger when he walks. 2. When he said “she’s awake” and just broke down, truly heartbreaking and the camera panning down to his mom holding her son’s hand in both of hers as she tells him not to lose her😭 3. Violet and Mary apologizing to their children because they both checked out on them when their husbands died was long overdue. These two sacrificed so much, almost their love, for their families. 4. When she said “are you going to ask me to dance one last time”. This dance was sad and beautiful at the same time because they both felt that this would be last time they would do this and they danced like “no one else matters”. 5. When he told her that he loved her, it was with no expectations, he just wanted her to know his feelings because she was leaving. You can see the surprise/relief on his face when she told him she loved him too. Finally 6. My favourite, when they joined their family for the pall mall game. The way they seem only wanting to be in each other’s orbit, they way he seem unable to not embrace her, they way she runs her fingers through his hair and pauses between kissing him to place her finger on his lips, the way he actually smiled while kissing her and as the scene fades away, the way they looked at each other and Anthony’s smile, WAS EVERYTHING 💕💕
That was Anthony’s “pleasing smile”. lol

Here is why I like Pens character development this season:
Essentially she's finally come to understand the plight of all artists: When do you look at what you've done and say enough is enough?
I've felt what she has multiple times. And there were multiple times where it felt like I was done for good, for so many different reasons.
But always, I inevitably find myself back at it again, just like her, because I can't just stop.
That's what artists live for. They create, because they know they can't not, even at the cost of everything else, because there is still that innate need to keep creating.
It's in them, and to stop almost feels as wrong as to stop breathing.
She's just such a complicated and complex character and Nicola who portrays does a brilliant job. You're just rooting for her because you know that deep down, she's a good girl (cos she's actually remorseful of her actions, you see her cry and have a conscience) but she does really unquestionable things and unlikeable things and it's so real. Lady Whistledown in the book was okay, witty and likeable. Lady Whistledown in the show though is witty in a very taunting manner and this is coming from the perspective of an unappreciated and mostly ignored shy girl who has got some sort of power through her influence so you sort of see the pride and arrogance that stems from this and it's just so realllll because of the power she holds. Penelope is such a well written character in the series and say what you will about her, but she makes you feel something. I like her and I'm really interested to see her season and the inner workings of her mind.
..and she is a poor friend.

I truly appreciated your reactions! Men should respect this perspective of love and drama WAY MORE than they do. Men are like, so attuned to bad behavior and this show is just TOP. I cried like a child when Kate and Anthony kissed after the dance. That damn dance was so, so, powerful. It isn't easy to shut out the rest of the world. But when real mf love is real, f the world. Let love rule.
LOL at "ugh the moaning in my ear hole." I feel you but also, Anthony had to let all that out after restraining himself the whole season. It's obvious who makes the most noise out of the two when they're having relations and I love that for the Viscountess lmao
Apparently there was a part where Anthony tells Kate to hush so they're not overheard that unfortunately got cut. So my headcanon is that Kate is the loud one. Anthony clearly did good as the flashbacks showed

- My theory (that's all it is) is that when Anthony imagined Kate as a bride at the altar, it was a flash forward to their later wedding
- When Anthony asked Kate in the garden if she were still going to India, she didn't give him a direct answer, but only mentioned her family's feelings. That gave Anthony an opening to do exactly what she was hoping he would do...
Can we talk about the fact that he used her full GOVT - Khattani Sharma, in the fireworks scene?! Swoon!

Next season will be Colin and Penelope, which has been hinted at the whole show, season four is supposed to be Benedict I believe, so Eloise will be season five, so an actual years long slow burn from both sides.

If there’s a story focus on Penelope there’s gonna be lots of Eloise. So you’re going to see her story.
Eloise already decided that she’s gonna spend the rest of her life with Penelope and grow old with her the second Penelope gets married she has an identity crisis which she never had with any of her siblings getting married and runs away to find a husband of her own so she can have what Penelope and Colin has
I hate that for Eloise if that's this is true. Running off to get married simply because her friend married and she doesn't want to be left alone in society. Is very disgusting. 🤢🤢🤮🤮

When Anthony asked her why she ran away she basically went off on a whole rant about how Colin stole Penelope from her. and she doesn’t know who she is anymore.
This is off-topic, but Penelope should just marry the both of them They both clearly want to marry her. That’s why they’ve been fighting all these years over her attention.
Penelope and Eloise, low-key kind of act like a couple. They both have personal items in each others rooms. Shared closet space and basically no boundaries. They sleep together more than they sleep alone, when it comes to propriety and access. Eloise can treat the Featherington house like it’s hers and Penelope can treat the Bridgeton house like it’s hers.
And Penelope seems to be the only one with the patient to deal Eloise’s OCD Behaviour & hyper, active personality constantly full-time when everybody else gets a bit frustrated with her.
Not to mention, the two of them will be doing fairytale stuff together Eg. Penelope does not know how to ride a horse,🐎 and she’s afraid to try by herself so Eloise carries her around like she’s her knight in shining armor and Penelope a fair maiden princess.
It’s kind of funny how romantic they are with each other.
I almost forgot the best part when Colin & Penelope were getting it on for the first time Penelope thinks about how his hair feels like Eloise’s and has to remind herself that it’s not the time to think about Eloise. and then she started thinking that Eloise is her best-friend practically her sister. 😒 and I was thinking this is not the time this man literally has his mouth all over your breast.

Yes, "naive" fits Edwina, as sweet and loving as she is. She was naive and the situation is tragic, because we love all the characters. We want the best for them all but each person has their own level of culpability to reckon with.

Pen may have protected Eloise from the Queen; but ruined her in every other way (as well as Eloise’s family). They could recover; but that was not guaranteed! What she did was protect herself first and foremost.
True, Penelope hasn’t been the best friend to Eloise but neither is Eloise. She even admitted that she constantly ignored Pen’s feelings throughout the show and doesn’t hear her. She doesn’t even know that Pen likes her brother, which everyone seems to know except her and Colin.
And the whole Marina situation is debatable. On one hand Marina totally deserved to be outed because she was trying to trap a kind innocent soul into a sham marriage just so she could pass her child off as his. And on the other hand, you can argue that Pen should’ve told someone before she used LW but I doubt anyone would believe her even if she did try. She’s always been forgotten as Penelope, even to the ones who claim to be her friends.
And Eloise suspected of being LW is kinda on her in a way. She should not have visited that printer’s shop so many times. I liked that she fell for Theo but it was too dangerous for her to do that. Plus, she left her brother’s so called wedding and that’s why she was suspected in the first place. Penelope warned her not to go but she did so anyway. And look at where it got her: The Queen almost ruined her and her family for life. With LW they were able to at least recover from that scandal since they were invited to the Featherington ball later. What Pen did was wrong but what else was she supposed to do in that situation? If she had confessed, she would’ve gotten her and her family ridiculed for life instead and the Queen might even get Pen killed for writing about her so much. Which is kinda on Penelope though because she shouldn’t have played a battle with the Queen of England.
To me they are both at fault in many ways. Both really need to apologize to each other in the third season and try to be better friends to each other.
