Fully agree bro. Me too. I however entered music after National Service (compulsory military service in Singapore), and my systems were already pretty top notch. So I went from knowing how to play 2 songs on drums and being called "tone deaf" at the start of Year 1 of my music degree, to being the top in class for the instrument we were majoring in (by top I mean the technical exam score for that year), and in another 3 years I was in the daily news for my graduation recital for my diploma. And on and on this has gone, each time I get serious with systems, resulting in about 28 media features by age 36. Apple Music featured one of my tracks "Jungles (Dance Mix)" on their playlist New Music Daily and in peaked at #22 in the world. I didn't know till the week or two after that and I fell off my chair reading that when someone commented that they came to the music video on this channel from that playlist LOL!
I feel like I'm just getting started though, because getting married and having a kid slows you down a tonne, but I'm slowly finding my groove again, no doubt with systems and discipline, and there's more music to come.
I did use systems to the point I got burnt out in the past though... so now I use a type of balance to grind some, and chill some. Or I would literally die because I think like you, my thoughts move quick.
    Much love from Singapore.
