Thank you so much, Kato! Not just for the gift, but for always sharing your knowledge and helping us artists navigate the music industry. Your guidance is truly priceless. I also wanted to say how much I admire the open-minded and business-savvy decision you made. It’s clear that if you hadn’t taken a step back, the song wouldn’t have reached the fans who love it today. You showed real wisdom by prioritizing the bigger picture, even when it meant making a tough call. I hope that in the future, she recognizes the crucial role you played and reaches out to collaborate again if she makes it big. You absolutely deserved more credit because, without you, that song wouldn’t have even existed. What you did was not only big but incredibly wise. Kudos to you, Kato. I hope to get lucky enough to work with you one day too! Trust me, I’d never forget that opportunity, no matter what the future holds. 😄
thanks for the gift, i will listen after the video, and thanks for the video..glad you got paid and took a humble approach. win some and lose some. Congrats!
Thank you for the very in-depth breakdown and honesty with dealing with a major pub. I can't imagine how much pressure there was when trying to negotiate the payment, prod. credits/name issue, etc.
You made the right decision Kato 💯💯💯, you put your ego aside for the bigger picture and a brighter career for both of you. Thank you for sharing your story in such detail.
Thanks for sharing your perspective and letting me learn more about this industry that no one talks about❤ I hope the next viral song is with me to play those cards🙏
I think that if they didn’t want your name on the track title (or feat. artist) then they should have either doubled your points or upped your advance some. Were those options at all?
I feel producers can have a deal where they get to have exclusivity to their beat. Where as the complete song (beat with vocals) is treated as a different entity. I don't know if you get it but. The beat is entity A and complete song is entity B so you only give them license to release the song but you as a producer can also release the beat on streaming platforms.
Thanks for watching... here's a free gift for Artists and Producers: bit.ly/free-gift-from-kato

But that being said it's an eye opener
It's possible but highly unlikely when dealing with majors unless you have a massive amount of leverage
