Now back in England but with a definite decision to take the plunge and move to Thailand, I visited Mark's office about two weeks ago. It was very crowded with lots of people. Considering I told him at the outset that I was not going to buy any of his services that day I was expecting to be fobbed of with a few general things he could do and to come back when I was ready to do business. This is the first time I heard on a UA-cam channel regarding the ETA that bank statements have to be submitted. Where is the source of this information?
I got an additional bank account at Bangkok Bank about 1 month ago. I'm an expat, living in Thailand for 14 years already, on an O-A visa for retirement. Bangkok Bank required 3 forms of ID. I initially had passport and yellow book and they also required a "letter of residency" from Thai Immigration. Did that, paid the 500 baht, and got the bank account.
I think providing bank statements would be a problem for everyone if they are only just visiting Thailand as a tourist for 30 days or less, 60 days or 90 days. There could be privacy concerns, and it could make the Thai government drop the criteria.
There is no mention of ETA (Electronic travel authorization) requirements on either the Thai or UK (FCDO) government websites. I am sure this guy is right, but until it's officially listed, I would suggest he is guessing as to the requirements.
on the arrival Trev with the stamp of 60 days. will they stamp as well for the other 30 days on top for 90 days complete or will i need to see mark like before for the additional 30 days.
I was just curious if i could open a bank account on DTV. They accepted all my documents but they said they can’t open the account unless i have a letter embassy. After talking to the embassy, the staff sent me a li k to order a letter from the embassy to prove that I’m registered as a Swiss living abroad with the department of foreign affairs living at the address of my condo. I will take this document and try again. Luckily I already got an account from another province so I’m not lost if it doesn’t work
@@Buzzinpattaya thanks. If i ever need a new account, l I’ll do. For now i just want to get an account on DTV because everyone of those keyboard warrior Thailand experts told me how impossible it is. With the introduction of this ETA and the return ticket cannot exceed 60 days, how do you have to do if you wish to extend your stay with another 30 days ?
In all the UA-cam videos concerning long-term visas and the need to open a bank account, no one ever mentions what the minimum amount of cash is that must be initially deposited when using an agent.

Maybe prepare a short description of the tests to read the night before heading to the test? I didn't realize what the pegs test was about until 3 weeks later when someone explained it to me.
Is the non o retirement visa still available, offered by key visa (Pattaya)at approximately 38,000 baht for the first year followed by 16,500 baht each year thereafter!
Eta will never happen in the form they expect... How can they expect you to provide personal banking information for proof of funds? For all family members?? From countries all over the world in there respective languages. And with onward ticket requirement now recorded, I would NOT be advising people buy a ticket ( Throw away ) they won't use to leave the country.
@@anthonydowling3356 I think you are right. I once applied for a tourist visa and had to do the bank account stuff, but then they wanted hard copies as well as the original screenshot. I just can't imagine someone having to sort through how many thousands of applications they'd have everyday, and verifying their authenticity, let alone checking hotel reservations. The entire Singapore process, which doesn't request proof of funds, works of passport numbers, basically to get you e-clearance at immigration, and the hotels are from a lookup. Why? Just because there is a slight change? You do a little more work at home by the computor and then you just walk...... Maybe you should get some practice doing it because it will soon be in every country. I chose Thailand anyway. It's paradise.
@ollelindskog4531 because this is exactly the same thing we have in America (ESTA) which is nothing but a backdoor visa. It's redundant. Why have a visa free program? When in the end, you are going to go through the same process of getting a visa. Also what this program will do, there are already programs in place like Advanced Passenger Process System, and PIBICS that Immigration uses now. I don't see this accomplishing anything that these systems don't already do.
@@itun1105 I don't think this is "the same" as getting a regular visa. As it's presented, you send a little information (that you of course already have at hand), you upload a pic of your passport and when you arrive you scan your permit. If they set it up as in Indonesia, I prefer this way. You spend a little extra time at home and you just walk straight through when you arrive.......
I'm Australian and intend to be retiring in Thailand in early December, do I have to book a return flight even though I won't be using it. And is it just a matter of going to your agency upon arrival to extend my stay and organising a retirement visa?

If they roll out this ETA, it's only going to hurt the tourist sector for Thailand. I know I will find some other place to go for my vacations.
Okay
Is this ETA intended for every single tourist entering Thailand, including couples, families etc? Or will they be targeting single males?
It's bs....anyone from a first world country has 60 days....easy to add 30 to that. You from brazil or Laos? Different story

Single males? The girls will be...
@@Buzzinpattaya So you still didn't understand the ever-changing rules either Trev, even after interviewing the visa expert?
Marks service is 100% spot on
Agreed
I'm Australian and intend to be retiring in Thailand in early December, do I have to book a return flight even though I won't be using it.
And is it just a matter of going to your agency upon arrival to extend my stay and organising a retirement visa?
