  • Its winter and the temperature is going down to about 0'c at night!
time to test out my new sleeping bag from OEX and use the British army bivi bag and British army basha for a low profile shelter.
met up with Will and headed to a pine woodland where we set camp and saw some great wildlife and had a fun night.

Hey, that blue thing at 6:18 is called a lamp, very useful when it gets dark 😉.

That certainly was camping in nature. Nosy deer checking you out and your own pet mouse. It was lovely hearing the dawn chorus of birds, Thanks mate

Great vid, just stumbled upon your channel. Nice use of the poundland pillow, I’m using one of those myself after I had two Big Agnes AXL pillows fail. ATB mate

I've spent the last few weeks planning my first wild camping trip. I've got the same tarp and a DPM bivi bag. I was worried about how I was going to set things up but this video has just solved that problem. Thank you very much for the inspiration. I can't wait to get started.

🏕👍, sorry I'm late to the party on viewing this. I'd seen Lee's version but missed this. Your audio of the dawn chorus was pretty amazing🎥👏👏👏. Your 'visitor' reminds me of bashering-up in the forests of Kenya. You'd put biscuit crumbs on someone sleeping & chuckle when they got a huge rat visitor in the night.😂😉👍

Looks like a great shelter and sleep system! Heard good things about those british Goretex bivy bags, might need to get one eventually. Ordered me one of those German ground sheets also, waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for sharing!

I highly recommend the German army groundsheet, just wish it was a bit long about a foot or so. Yeah the British army bivi is worth adding to your kit! Im glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching

You don't actually need the basha. The bivvi is adequate on it's own. Plenty of room for you and your kit. Just lay it on top of a roll mat. Happy days.

I believe (comments welcome) that there is a psychological difference between sleeping on your right side (left hand opens the zip) and sleeping on your left side (right hand opens the zip) ?.. which is why a lot of soldier-intended bags open on the right (left-handed)
