He mentions this is a kinda temporary or emergency fix, and is an excellent idea for those who may become stranded climbing hills. The only real downside is I suspect the DPD media may continue to fall apart and slowly build up in the exhaust or muffler, and create a new blockage.
Nope none of that. All the meterial blew out. Exhaust system is fine, normal. No issues and EGT temp should be less under load. Bear In mind that only do this if you have a tune and DPF delete in the software
@@xpresed After reading more, This is a great idea for those who have a long trip ahead, because the clogged DPF can damage the engine, SO its much better to increase flow, than to worry about the light being on.
@@VEHICROS Correct. It's about reducing turbo temps and increasing flow whilst maintaing the stock exhaust. There shouldn't be a light as the OR sensor and other sensorts are still in place. I could be wrong.
@@tonesX7170 My Sprinter ran awesome until I filled up with B20, not realizing it existed, soon after I had CEL (DPF clogging issues) which only got worse. Currently I am considering drilling one small hole to increase flow, with hopes to satisfy the pressure differential sensor. I could end up with too much flow, in which case Ill go onto doing a DEF delete, however I would much rather retain the DEF fluid system for cleaner emissions. On the other hand, if I wait too long to do the DEF delete I could end up with tank or other issues preventing a successful delete. I really wish I had not purchased a diesel anything.
It's the pressure increase from blocked dpf. Did you try and force regenerate driving for thirty mins close to the high rev red line in low gears on a highway
Its not well understood that if the DPF is damaged or removed, that the vehicle will often go into limp mode! The DPF MUST be deleted in the ECU as well as physically removed..........messing around with drills is pointless.
Thats why you take it off instead of leaving holes in the bottom. Its impossible for them to tell if its been tampered with as long as the box is still there
Well actually, not. Under normal driving there's no smoke. I only saw some after I nailed it up a Dune but that is understandable due to excess fuel. And the engine is tuned so, even more chuffed that there's no smoke
This has got to be - the WORST modification video I've ever seen!! You really should have planed this a lot better! Now your driving around venting particulate matter into the environment, and it's in your eyes and lungs- I feel sorry for your kids!
I see how this isn't the best way of doing things I normally remove the dpf to get the stuff out easier and use a respirator Done right is a very cheap increase in power and better for the engine hope he got rid of the egr aswell As for bringing his children in to it is a nasty thing a real jobs worth would say
and just to add. i didnt need a dpf delete. no mil light came on. my car wouldnt regen anyway due to faulty glow plugs
O'rileys autos on here is an amazing resource for Dpf issues

How big does the hole have to be and drilled completely through? I don't want to have it programmed out
❤good job..me today I am planning to like yours.thank you

Um no. I did it to remove the restriction of the DPF creating a more free flow from turbo. Therefore, the EGT temps should be lower sparing the turbo
works a treat
Yep.. I sleep better at night knowing my turbo is cooler 🙌🙂

😮
Works for me
Been a month
I have a bmw modern engine I have deleted DPF now I destroy audi s3 easily with dpf off no limp
it depends on the size of the hole.
How are the regens now? Any difference? Thanks for the video (:
Hey, they don't happen because I have a tune and a DPF delete.
oh good vedo ps from lahore
Any signs of tampering with the DPF canister would automatically fail the UK MOT test. The price of a remap is also not cheap here.😡

No hole. It was welded closed. From the outside, so one will know. We don't have such restrictions here is SA
I hope your eyes are ok and a warning to protect your eyes everyone don't chance it without proper eye protection even a shield
Noted.. I usually us it but lacked discipline this time 😊
i agree with dpf diet. but car will now smoke alot. and you should have done it well away from the house and kids. heard its nasty stuff inside dpf

How does this affect the mot surely they can see dpf has been drilled out
Hole was closed. We don't have MOT test here in Africa 🤣
You don't want ceramic in your eyes or lungs as well as all the byproducts of diesel combustion. Look after your health
Noted. I didn't know that it's nasty stuff.. Hope I'll be OK 😢
watch what your doing here some DPFs are rly close to your Turbo
Well done 💯
Thanks bro
You need to get at it again you took nothing out compared to what is in there
No not that easy
Why..

@@clutchdroptv4345 There is no good way, of removing a DPF. There's a reason why it's there. Don't buy a car with a DPF, if you don't want it.
Appreciate the comment. Kids are fine, they were no where near it. I'm fine too, for now 😅
Agree. Its a cheap way. It's been perfectly fine since then. No issues and perhaps better for the turbo long term. Cheers
What then, do aftermarket downpipes do? Nothing I suppose...
I've seen some dumb stuff, but this bloke 🤦
Thank for watching
