For us Indiana wrestling fans (WWA) there was none better than Marlowe and Luce. Constant banter and conversation and quite often NOT about the match! These were TV matches put on in Indianapolis I think at the old armory. The crowd noise is obviously canned. Heenan said Bruiser would sometimes make the boys go into the stands to make it appear more were in attendance. Bill Watts worked a handful of Indianapolis house shows but really didn’t work the circuit for Bruiser and Snyder. He did however stay in the AWA and consequently main evented Chicago at the Ampitheatre which was combo of AWA/WWA in 1968. We were treated to the best. Memories!

The commentary was great...recollections of former heavyweight boxing champions and how they compared physically to the professional wrestler...

Watts moved better than I expected. But maybe I shouldn't be surprised. After all he did have a legit athletic background before he went to Pro Wrestling. From the video's I've watched he seemed pretty good in the ring.I think he had a good mix of wrestling and entertainment.

When I hear people praise JR and Lawler commentary I cringe, because the old guys were incomparable.

Just look how much more Real wrestling holds were used back in the 60's compared to the ridiculous WWE garbage!

Hemi Vic that's what I love about the 60s and the 70s stuff, it was grown bullies beating up paid, jobber, wimps, I wonder how many of them were submissive gays?....I bet heels like Watts "enjoyed" yankinf them up off the canvas by their hair "accidently" drrrragging thier pansy face up the bulge of their trunks...I wonder if a jobber got paid more if he was willing to let a heel do stuff like that to them, enhancing the excitement of the beating with added humiliation, teetering on emasculation....like, did they get paid more if they were willing to be completely humiliated by a more virile man, in front of a crowd...

...Well, this was when men were allowed to be men, you know, manly, maculine..These guys weren't afraid to go home with a few aches and a bruise or two, hell they expected it, the pain was part of the allure of wrestling for these guys...I loved how Watts treated these newbies like wrestling ragdolls...you could tell He enjoyed doing it

The bumbling announcer falsely claimed Bill Watts played for the Houston Oilers. Watts was a third-string tackle at the University of Oklahoma. He never made a team in the AFL or NFL.

Luce is in agreement with me….those with beef will always beat 190 lb guys. maybe thats why aews ratings are terrible, 95% 160 lbs or less acting like they are unbeatable, winning matches against big wrestlers that have experience. just stoopid
