I don't know if its the same noise, but in my Envoy it was a wiggelin fan clutch that hit the shroud when you accelerate. Good Luck.
Be sure to check for loose heat shields and other loose paraphernalia (It's a Copart vehicle) under the truck the drive shaft might be coming into contact with when it flexes under load. Also take a look at transmission and motor mounts; see what goes on when the drivetrain is under load. If the motor mounts are bad, or things were bent in an accident such that it's not immediately obvious, it's possible the plastic radiator fan might be shifting forward just enough to make those lovely noises as it briefly dings the radiator at certain times. I'd think that would leave marks which should be easy to spot with a flashlight. Upon hearing the sound, my first instinct was to label it a torque converter noise, which it might very well be. But it's best to eliminate other possibilities such as those I described above.
+Atra Hasis thanks. I thought it might be a torque converter sound too. Like a bolt to long from the fly wheel tapping under load
The sound I get come from the floor under my foot but there is Nothing there please help
You def want all tires to have the same wear, or the 4x4 will get worn out faster.
2003 GMC Envoy XUV
So far this is what I have found : much of the securing components in the engine compartment are done by way of plug and play( for lack of a better term) well with time and mileage these wear out they still work but things begin to rattle for example the Pcm module bracket I've had to make some adjustments ( gortilla tape) cut and place properly : no more rattle in that area now I'll move on to the next 10 percent left
I have same problem!
The Bendix from the starter is being held up by the flywheel change the starter
exhaust manifold or gasket is the most common prob if that's the inline 4.2l engine, chevy did a recall for the trailblazer version of this car from gmc recalled 2008 envoys/trailblazers for manufacturing defect on exhaust manifold , can make a similar sound ason this vid
I've had that flex plate sound and it turned out the starter wasn't retracting all the way and when in gear the flex plate would move and tap the starter really weird
Yeah turned out it was a dirty valve. I did see foam and it was gone
@@TKsGarage well damn can't get any better than that lol
It is a metal piece between the rotor and wheel bearing. It’s bent and rubbing. I just cut mine in half
That sounds like the fan hitting something that wasn't screwed down.
Exhaust heat shield is my guess!
Do you get any vibrations from the vehicle when you accelerate? That sound could be a bad u joint on the drive shaft. Just speculating.
Dust plate, or the pads or caliper
I ended up doing sea foam in the engine and it cleared it up. It was a valve tapping from crap build up I guess
Wish I could say I got a good deal. 🤣 Quite the opposite but love the vehicle.
well mine made bad sounds in the front end, had to return home right away, part of it was the c.v. joint. but mine had a transaxle seal leak for the longest time. noise got better, but i have clicking, based on rotation of the front end,,, i gotta say,,, transaxle trouble. its headed to the junk yard i,m all done, great car when running right though.
I understand I have one
Oh my gosh mine makes the exact same sound!!
Yeah do a seafoam intake treatment and it will fix it
My gmc envoy that is a sound
What is it
Did it really work my have the same sound too?
Check the wheel hub on that side
Knock sensor. Under the intake manifold. Should be 2. Just a thought?
I have an 05 trailblazer…Chevy version of the envoy….the quality that Chevy put into these vehicles…this includes the bravado and the Saab versions…all the same vehicles just different bodies…is so poor that it’s really affected my future in buying another gm product…I’ve done so much work to my trailblazer that it’s the only reason why I still own it…it’s cheap for parts but needs them constantly! I’ve replaced several sets of coils within 6 years of owning it…it needs the pcm updated which I’m told will help with the failing parts…but the quality of fuel is another big problem for vehicles like these…I wouldn’t buy one unless it was very very low priced…like low as in $500 low…because they have so many problems
Have you checked around fan blades
Distributor or coil Arc, timing tensioner slap
"She is a little wet"
What year is your gmc i have the same truck with same sound but it makes that sound while it's idoling
2004. It needed to have the intake cleaned. Run sea foam, it worked for me
noise sounds like a cracked flexplate it's very hard to tell if it's cracked from the inspection hole.
Check ur dowl pin where trannsmission & flexplate r.. i lost flexplate 2x’s found out it was no dowl pin
Catalytic converter that's the noise your hearing
It was actually dirty valves
i got a 06 envoy and if i go 65 or above i hear a screeching noise come from my right work area i changed my cv axel still there idk what else could it be could it be a wheel bearing
Probably a bearing
Does the sound go away after you hit a certain speed?
+Troy White after load is off the engine and trans, like once I get up to speed it’s fine
+Troy White once I get up to whatever speed and load is taken off the transmission. I’ve now driven almost 8000 miles like it is
I would check the manifold bolts on the driver side, specifically the closest one to the firewall. The 5.3 is notorious for this issue. Nice channel by the way!
+Troy White thanks for the tip I will definitely check that out
Cover fender brake
Did you figure it out I’m hearing something similar to this.
Dirty valves
Otherwise Gmc knocked it out of the park with these vehichles
You look like 2 face from bat 🦇 man lol
Noise might be heat shield in rear
I have 2006 gmc envoy makes that same sound!
Sounds like something is not on all the way and its scraping with the movment
mine made a weird sound when i ran over my wife....jk
jk/nk
🤡
They are junk
I kept mine for a year now. 06 denali not XL) mainly for the same reason everything works and just passed smog.
no notice like that. mine was the heater door and rearhatch buzz
