I doubt you're gonna read this, but this mod actually has a very creepy (maybe fake, probably not) story going around it. There are several Closed Cities in Russia, cities built around strategic objects and named something funky like Gorky-17 or Seversk-22. It is said that after the collapse of the USSR one such small closed-off city in the middle of a tundra was seized by its gopnik (young petty criminal) population, who became de-facto rulers of the place, in complete control of the nukes that were stored there. The army was in disarray in the 90's, and crazier things happened, like navy combat vessels being bartered to Americans for bread, or just cut into parts and for the metal to be re-sold. Nobody bothered to take the city back, and the citizenry couldn't call for help, since communication to and from Closed Cities was always in the hands of the government. The gang who took control over that city called themselves the Вомангеры (like a russianized version of the word Warmongers) and they had three bosses, each with a nickname and a distinct personality. There was Fezky, a guy who was big with computers and tech, Zlo, a really crazy bruiser sadist type, and the third is forgotten in most modern retellings. When the army took control back, the gang was mostly wiped out, but it is said that a survivor called BCD played a lot of Morrowind in prison and when he came out he started the very mod you're playing, based on what he saw as the good old days.
@Felipe Amaral Russian prison, he was doing time in early to late 00's, when most Russian prisons (apart from the hardcore ones like White Swan) had computer classes.
@Felipe Amaral it's not common, not by a long shot, but yeah it kinda happens. Russian torrent pages for kewl games like Stalker sometimes even have comments like "This game is so good if I weren't in prison I'd buy that on Steam" etc. I think it has something to do with corruption. Like, some local official "buys" 200 computers for local prisons, but in actuality buys 20 and keeps the rest of the money, and the inmates are allowed to do whatever they want to them as long as they keep their mouths shut, or maybe computers are used as a way to reward cooperative inmates or snitches. Russian prisons are hilarious. There can be one two cubic meter cell with 10 people stuffed inside, who are fed once per day, beaten and assaulted by all manner of medieval parasites like roaches and rats, and along the corridor there's another cell, where a guy has a personal TV, smartphone and even drugs and alcohol, because he's a friend of the local mayor or something. They are extremely corrupt. Then again, I don't believe the story about the morrowind guy myself. I just read it on a board a few years ago. But it's totally possible in theory.
