Honestly saaaaaaaaame.
Great information. This saves a lot of money on testing.
Thanks for the demos Tito!
I could definitely use a set or two
Your reviews are a reference point for those who dream of shooting the anamorphic!
Have you ever tried the 50mm t2.9 ff 1.6x EF-mount with a focal reducer for MFT? Do you think it would work?
Thank you for all this wonderful work that you continue to develop.
You guys really like your Macarons! I feel it...
It had been a looong time since we had them because of quarantine! They were delicious as usual. :P
@@AnamorphicOnABudget :) awesome, now I need to get some for myself!
Good vid! I been looking for wide adapter for my 50mm since they don't release 35 for x mount.
Thanks for another great video!
I use a wide angle adapter on my slr magic compact with a 28mm Nikon lens on my original Blackmagic Cinema Camera
Hi! Great video, I just watched your desqueeze tutorial as well. Great link with the calculator! I have the 35mm f1.8 with 1.33x squeeze for Super35 sensor as I am using the Canon C70. With that combo I get a perfect 100% horizontal and 75.0% vertical for my clips (if I don't use the interpret media function) on a 3840x1600 timeline. All good! But one question: There is a setting for desqueeze on the C70 (as with other cameras I would presume) which I set to 1.33. What does this do? Only for displaying or does it actually change the footage if I have it on or off?
It's only for display, so keep it on to make your life easier on set!
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Thanks! :)
Thanks for the content! Question, i have the 75 mm SIRUI MFT i wonder if the 77 mm works for me!
Yeah, but you could go with a 67 too! :)
Absolutely love the channel Tito! Just trying to decide between DIY vs Sirui. May I ask, do the diopters fix the synchro focus issue w/ the squeeze changing as you get closer to the subject? E.g the Sirui going from 1.333333x to 1.24x squeeze as you get closer? = ) Obrigado!
Yeah, diopters fix it if you always stay near infinity. If you still focus closer, then you still get the squeeze change. :)
Good knowledge. Very.I like your idea.
Hey, you said the close up filters limit the focusing range of the lens. Does it mean that if I ger a +40 and will be able to focus at lets say 30cm, then I cannot focus on anything back or forth by rotating the focusing ring? The only focus I will be able to get is at that particular distance? This impacts framing by a lot. I undestand if I want to focus on something farther I need to either move forward with the camera or change the filter to a different value?
Would the range limitation be dependant on the diopter value? +4 less focusing range, +2 more focusing range?
Cheers
Yes, you won't be able to focus further. When you hit infinity on the focus ring, your focus will be at 25cm with a +4 diopter.
If you need different ranges, you can calculate the diopter power needed using my diopter calculator! www.tferradans.com/anacalc/go on the top tab, you can switch between the Anamorphic Calculator and one for diopters. :)
Hello Tito. I bought a Fujinon WCV-82SC. Please could you tell me witch adapter ring you used to mount the Fujinon on Sirui lens? Thank you in advance
I used a SIMMOD 67-77mm ring and a 77-82mm regular step ring.
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Thank you Tito. I have not succeeded. I tried with 3 adapter rings 67-72 / 72-76 / 76-82. I'm very sorry:((
Have you tried the Sony HG0872? It's a big wide angle conversion lens designed for broadcast zooms, and even works up to 16-18 mm. It also has a cool cine lens cap and sun hood. 100-200 on ebay. I would really like to see a big ultimate wide angle conversion lens tournament.
I love the Sirui lens! They just don’t make them for something like the BMPCC 6kPRO, which uses a super 35 with an EF mount.
Are the 86mm Close up Diopters also compatible with the Siri 35 mm 1.8 (1.33X) ?
They are, all you need is a step-ring.
Thanks for sharing
Hi Tito, I get different minimum focus results when using a Canon 0.7 wide angle converter on a standard 50mm prime lens with a GH5 (m43). It actually reduces the minimum focus distance when attached unlike in your tests it increases it. Do you know why my results are different to yours - is it how the Anamorphic lenses, the m43 sensor size or the converter works? Thank you.
I believe the differences come from the WA converter. Each one operates slightly differently because of different optics, and what we're discussing is exactly that aspect! :)
Sorry maybe your covered this in another video. Do you know of any affordable field monitors that can convert 16:9 aspect ratio and convert it into a 2.4:1? So the 35mm anamorphic can be view properly! Cheers.
Also got some dioptres because of you so thanks!! 😊

@@noaharnold9335 I use a pocket 4k it has a 1.33 de-squeeze
or is it the 77mm Diopters that are compatible with the 35mm 1.8 lense?
The 35mm has 67mm threads.
@@AnamorphicOnABudget THANK YOU SOOO MUCH BROTHER. I ORDERED THE WORNG ONE ONCE ALREADY. I DIDN'T WANNA MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE
Will the diopters work on sirui 50mm?
Yeah! :)
Hey man, LOVING your videos, thank you! May I ask your advice? I’m editing Sirui 50mm footage in Premiere Pro, interpreting as anamorphic 1.33 and looks great, but I don’t see the black bars too and bottom in PP or when I export. I’m sure I’m missing something very simple but do you have any suggestion? Huge thanks, Dan ☺️🙏🏼
Hey Dan, this video should clarify any issues you're having! ua-cam.com/video/eJdrqH7B0jU/v-deo.html
I'm using a black magic pocket cinema 4K would I still have a wide angle option?
Yep.
Quality content!!!
Can these diopters work just as well with the Sirui 50mm? Love these videos! SO helpful :)
Yes, they can. :)
I'm glad you like them!
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Thank you!!
Hey there, is it possible to combine a 67mm close-up-adapter, a 77-to-82mm step-up-ring and the Fujinon wide-angle-adapter? Best regards
Yes, as long as the diopter is the frontmost element!
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Thanks for your support! That's great to hear!!!
@@AnamorphicOnABudget I'm sorry. But I have to bother you again. How did you mount the Fujinon converter to the 35mm? Do I need a special step-up-ring? I can't imagine how it's supposed to work with a regular one ...
@@AnamorphicOnABudget I have just ordered some spacer rings 82 to 82mm. Should this work with the converter or will there be major vignetting? How did you mount the converter to the Sirui 35mm? Best regards
@@AnamorphicOnABudget For whom it may concern: The spacer rings are working fine with the Fujinon converter. Plus, it seems as if you can mount either 82mm close-up adapters in front of the converter or 67mm close-up adapters between the Sirui and the step-up ring.
I tried this on my old Kowa B&H but the aberration was so bad I couldn’t put up with it. What brand would be the best maker of low dispersion wide angle adapters? Looking for 0.45x for those super wides!
0.45x is too extreme to get something good. The only ones I found ok were 0.8x...
Good stuff thank you
Can I do the same with a lens tube extension?
No. Anamorphics Focus differently so tubes don't work.
bro .. can u say somthing about mixing anamorphic with spherical ones .. for example i got the sirui 50mm and a 12mm f2.0 . i see my main point on doing vids on insta wher the anamorphic lens is kinda nonsens becoiuse of the ratio. i guess i will send the sirui back and get some vintage lens sets for the money .
You can definitely mix it, an overall audience wouldn't notice the difference, especially between such different focal lengths.
hi, the 35mm Sirui is 67mm. Why do you recommend a 77mm Vivitar diopter kit (Vivitar has multiple sizes from 67mm, 77mm). thanks
The edges of cheap diopters aren't the cleanest, so going with a larger size gives you more center area and better performance.
@@AnamorphicOnABudget I'd infer that you add a 67mm-to-77mm adapter first, and then install your 77mm diopter on the 67mm-Sirui lens (your video or your description above did not explain the additional adapter.
Correct. The step ring is implied. I mentioned it a couple videos ago, with the lens cap and mods. :)
Is there any difference in the picture if using on GH5/Sirui 35mm with set different ring size of dipters such as 67MM, 77mm and 82mm?
I want to buy from B&H but cannot decide if to buy the biggest ring for all my lenses or the one that will fit GH5/Sirui 35mm because of better quality.
Please?
All my lenses are 77mm, so I default to that size. Having a bigger filter will also give you more "center" area and avoid the bad edges. :)
@@AnamorphicOnABudget
Thanks for the reply, appreciate that, So, If I understood well, it's better to go on the 82mm?
Hey I've been trying to buy from your store, do you ship to China? Thanks
Hey Marky, I've never done it, but shouldn't be a problem... Is the website giving you an error?
@@AnamorphicOnABudget i just completed my purchase, please contact me if there are any problems shipping, looking forward to it soon so I can buy the lens. Idk if the 3-4 weeks is an automated message but I hope its for real!
Super amazing!
Tito it s 77 ml vivitar ,any links to find it with 67 ml?
I really recommend stepping them up to 77mm, but here's a link to 67mm: bhpho.to/3oQslZl

Bro thanks a lot for an info.
Watching your videos...they r best on anamorfic topic
@@AnamorphicOnABudget Tito what you think if buying 24 mm and 50 mm Sirui is a best combination
I still use adapters (kowa, slr magic) because I don't like to be stuck with one mount. I have an old yashikor wide angle adapter that works well with the slr magic, but i'm yet to find one that doesn't smear the edges. Even quentin tarantino can't do that.
thank you men
Recently got my Sirui 35mm anamorphic lens. As I like to shoot action I still need a wider lens. So I adapted an old HVX 200 wide angle adapter I had laying around. Figured out how to mount it securely to the 35 mm lens and what you see in the pics in the link.

Instead of cheapo close-up filters I recommend high quality achromatic close-up lenses for improved IQ.
Cool!
Hi Tito, I watched all your video concerning anamorphic lenses, and thanks to your tutorials I decided to buy a Sirui 1.8 35mm. 👍👍👍 And I am really thrilled with the lens! I wanted to know how my anamorphic SIRUI f 1.8/35mm performs in combination with a close-up lens +3! I was very pleasantly surprised by the result, especially as I used up to 2x "clear zoom" for all my shots. What do you think? Thank you very much for all your amazing tutorials 😉 Here is my test Video: ua-cam.com/video/tPDC_yjG2bk/v-deo.htmlsi=3lvfekuOCuOZKoQi

It’s not correct to keep calling diopters - “filters”. They are diopters (even though have the same as filters way of mounting on the top of front lens element).
I make that case every time and the only moment I wanted to simplify for a beginner audience, I got called out. Hahaha. Fair enough, man. Diopters are NOT filters. They're auxiliary lenses that affect the operation of the entire system. :)
Anamorphic on a Budget TITO, I appreciate your reply ;-) I’m your big fan from Ottawa and have been watching your videos for many many many years! (And I’m jealous of your lens collection;) Keep making great videos!
