I did put a watermark over the video. The original video was immediately blocked and I didn't want to take a chance with the video getting a copyright strike (Either the record company or someone claiming to be the record company was going around and issuing copyright strikes on some BABYMETAL videos).
Electric Calldaddy said they tried to follow the steps with the girls and lit lasted a few seconds. They said they couldn't keep up. No matter, I think the contrast between the dad moves and the girl's moves is great.
It has to be difficult trying to learn someone else's style of moves

Agree completely. It's that contrast that helps to make this such a wonderful performance all around.
Which is funny because I'm pretty sure Babymetal made the choreo for this one simple so that EC could dance with them, seeing as it's way more basic that any of the routines on from The Other One. Apparently it was still too hard for them. 🤣
@@Icipher353 I've read that Moa made the steps easier with EC in mind. They have a reel with BM and EC doing the "ratatata" shoulder move and it's pretty funny.

Electric Calldaddy is not too bad a name because when you watch the two blokes from Electric Callboy dance with the BabyMetal girls, it is like watching dads dance at their daughters birthday party. 😀

Great reaction. This is a straight 50-50 collaboration even though it does seem to be more Electric Callboy in style ... but that was the idea to start with.
BABYMETAL were wanting to make a song people could dance to like Electric Callboy's song 'We Got The Moves'. They felt something was missing and decided to ask EC if they would like to get involved.
Both bands were playing in Boston last year. BABYMETAL went to see the EC concert and met and chatted with them before the show.
After a lot of back and forth between the bands (there were something like 22 or 23 versions of the song before they were all happy with the final result) we finally got 'RATATATA'.
They've been having a great time playing it live together at every opportunity they got at festivals in Europe.
If the last time you saw BABYMETAL their costumes included a lot of red ... that was from a long time ago. They update their costumes roughly every year and the red in them was reduced bit by bit and all but disappeared in 2016 I think.
The costumes with the iridescent detail were introduced on 2nd April last year, they seem at the moment to be still using those for some festival performances, but they have some very stylish new costumes now.
The most recent BABYMETAL videos are not being blocked as a rule and there are channels with good quality videos you should be safe to use, for example 'For The Fox God'.
Wow that's awesome. I will be honest, I'm still really skeptical about having BABYMETAL on here. It's not worth getting a copyright strike for. I might check them out again later on, but this is it for now

Although this MV is getting some blocked if you don't put filters or ask for special permission, their latest songs in the official channel are not getting any problem so don't worry about it.
This single reached Number 1 best selling single in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands!
If you see comments talking about how cool was one of the singers turning around at the end, that's a reference to a video reaction they did last week. But the one who really looks cool are oc the ladies striking a pose near the end which is also the pose they used when performing live right from the beginning.💃
The last weekend of May they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab of the year and hit of this summer. They also released the official live if you don't wanna stop and keep pushing it to the limit.
They also played together once again at Rock Im Park in Germany twice, one during EC show and the other one during BM show wearing cool new outfits. After that they played again at Rock Am Ring and we already got cool proshot clips.
The last weekend of June they finished the Europe Tour and once again with both groups playing this song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain making everyone going wild.
Polyphia were also at FOX_FEST playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM the song Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this. We already got an official live MV released recently if you wanna check that out.
BM said in an interview that they wanted to make a song to dance with the vibes of We Got The Moves, they got something going on and felt it wasn't complete, that's why they asked EC to collaborate with them when meeting each other last year in Boston during the US Tour, it was a BM initiative but both bands got each other on the radar. It is known BM composers and producer loves to make tributes and make songs with certain influence from another bands they love, they did it a lot of times before, one of the most known was with DragonForce doing the guitar arrangements for Road Of Resistance album version, this time EC got more involved in the making of the song and that's why this is a 50/50 collab.

Great reaction you two. Very entertaining. A couple of things. This was advertised as a true 50/50 collab, though very much in the style of EC. Babymetal have many collabs at this point and always find a way to fit the style while still being Babymetal.
If in the BM video you saw the girls were wearing red it's from there early days. When Babymetal was starting out their costumes featured a lot of red. As they grew and matured they switched into kind of a black and silver warrior princess look. There have been other costume changes for different shows, tours etc. This was the costume from when Momo joined Babymetal and has already been retired* for an amazing-words can barely describe-new costume.
*That said though during the summer festivals when Babymetal would show up to perform this during an EC show they reverted back to this costume. But when EC showed up to perform this song when BM was performing they wore their new costumes. That was almost assuredly Amuse Entertainment that blocked your video (Babymetal's management group) they are infamous for doing that.
I guess in my head whoever's album the song landed on that's who's song it was, even though it was a true 50/50 song. Yeah Amuse Entertainment is not great to deal with

I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!)

Babymetal used this costume since 2023 to 2024. But they have now already new costumes. If you check out any festival performance in europe from 2024 you can see the new costumes. They still used the old costume when they performed Ratatata together on electric callboys stage. On their own mainstage they already use new costumes :)

A couple of years ago I suggested in a comment section that it was time for babymetal to change their costume design. People absolutely destroyed me for it. Soon after, they changed their costumes and everyone loves it 🖕

How far have we come? In the past no one was worried about how a metal band dance, now you have to have a choreographed dance routine and you'll be measured on this :D

It happens often enough. You must understand after their first successes in Europe Su really put Effort into learning English. And there happens a stage, when you no longer translate but think in english. Moa got better ut she is still some distance away from this point but I think Su is there.

To be honest, I HATE doing watermarks. I feel like it takes away some of the integrity of the video, but sometimes I have to do what I have to do

Well they use the new costumes in their own showsand the old costumes in all shows with the Band from Electric Callboy.
Electric Callboy have a 6 person group.
Well there is a reason behind it. The Video team used false perspective shots to demonstrate that the girls are grown up, but with Electric Xallboy in the frame there was a problem. The girls are tiny. The Discobalm had the same idea. Keep Su and Nico away from each other but the room has to look small and intimate.

If you look at modern concerts the first rows Look at their Smartphones. They have only a Bayer Chip but no Whitepoint meassurement, so they can only gues what the color informations are and what the lighting. They have to guess the whitepoint. These foils reflect selektive. Our eyes and and most Digital cameras have no problems. Our eyes get their whitepoint from the sides of Our eyes and most DSLRs from the Phase Detektor and if Necessary you use raw images and tune by hand. Smartphones can't do this and with these foils on most stages you get to bright images. They were developed for stage costumes, but they always had problems with the compromise of Flexibility, costs, and washable materials.

No, in fact this was one of the problems. They wanted to dance with them, their Video Team demanded distance and esspecially Kevin got more and more aggressive. Especially to the light crew. So in the first Live Performance at the Foxfest Babymetal changed their performance, they danced agressively to Kevin and Nico. Lead them through the dance. You know the Choreo.
