If you’re thinking of installing log roll edging, this video is for you. By following these simple guidelines, you’ll be able to smarten up your flower beds, borders and paths with minimal effort.
The video illustrates how to dig a shallow trench for the edging, how to slot it into place, and check that it’s even all the way round. You’ll also learn about the differences between using metal and wooden pegs.
Preparation & Planning
Before you start digging the shallow trench, decide how high you want your edging to sit above the ground. The depth of the trench will depend on this. As a rule of thumb, you’ll need three pegs for every 1.8m of edging - but always check the manufacturer’s instructions.
Aftercare
Your pressure treated log roll edging should last for years to come, However, if it becomes waterlogged and begins to rot, you can easily replace a section.
Hints & tips
The final height of the peg should be a bit lower than the height of the edging. This will keep your edging looking neat and tidy.
Safety
Take care of your fingers when tapping the battens into the ground.
