I saw a similar edging in a garden on another channel .. unlike this one, the pattern is kind of irregular and inconsistent and I really like the look .. now I know how to achieve it so - thanks!
This is just like all the other wood projects I see either in magazines or on line. They always leave something out. This time " HOW TALL is the center post after it is the ground? How much did you bury? How much do I cut off to measure the next post?
It's untreated pine you don't do anything with it. the original edging that he hated so much could have been installed properly for a nearly permanent solution instead of this weird thing lol
No offense, but that tall edging looks stupid. Landscape timbers last only a few years in humid environments. That ugly edging will be crooked the first time anything hits it. Did I mention how stupid it looks?
This isn't edging so much as a palisade lol. Points of note: 1) Good luck with 30 years out of a landscape timber 2) I notice you didn't show hammering in a pole barn nail until you had already 3 in place 3) Nothing good made of wood involves long nails This is a garbage install like something you'd see on pinterest but there's a good reason you'd never see it in a long term garden. You can do edging with just an edger if you want. Otherwise if you're digging anyway and want it made of wood just miter in your landscaping timbers. But honestly you don't need a physical edging material if you just establish a physical edge with an edger or your shovel. It's what 99% of trees and gardens are edged with. Don't get stupid about spending money and effort to do something odd.
Who said an old dog can't be taught new tricks? I'm 54 and this fellow just 'learned' me something. Thanks buddy.
there's a good reason why your teachers never told you to do something like this

This is what exactly I needed! Thank you !

Everyone but you is a problem Fred.
Eye ball it. Pause video and go for it!
Did you have to drive a nail through each timber to attach it to the previous timber?
if you're using nails in your landscaping you've gone wildly astray
Very nice!
Will this attract termites?
There should be hard core first, in time they will sink!
awesome! I'm doin this weekend thanks
I bet you didn't do it
Great Idea!
If one rots in center how could I replace that easily 🥺😭

@@tech99070 it's too much work for me I was thinking about doing it for 200 foot border from my neighbor!
Sawzall
Looks good,,,,,, but a ton of work.... And each 8 foot timber costs $7.50
Until you hit it once with the riding mower.
Who knows what nasty chemicals they added to resist rot? I would use this in my garden, especially where food is grown
Eh, it'll be fine. It isn't like it was 30 years ago
"These posts are treated to resist rot for up to 30 years."
Yeah, ok.
