I have my dad's Yamaha 1983 FG-345ii he picked up in a thrift store in '87. Its about 10 years older than me and it's a dream. Couldn't be happier to have it as my own.
excellent job demonstrating this Yamaha guitar ... my aunt & uncle got matching Yamaha guitars when they got married back in the early 70's ... and they still got um today ... great instruments from the Yamaha folks
Thank you Mary for showcasing such a brilliant guitar. Yamaha makes great guitars for such affordable prices and they make perfect go-to instruments for ANYONE!
Thanks so much for the demo! I will be checking that mic for sure! The Yamaha sounds amazing, they have really stepped up their game. Back in the 80's when I was growing up Yamaha guitars left a lot to be desired. Also love the song, keep up the great work Mary!
My first Guitar was a Yamaha FG in 1978. I still have it and still play it. They already produced decent guitars at a time, when other builders either produced crap or at a price not accessible for a schoolboy. This mic thing seems to be quite handy. Btw, nice playing as always Mary!
oh yeah! ! im turning my 16 year old daughter onto you, she plays guitar really good! ! she played her first gig on stage at our black gold festival in our home town, she started playing piano at 7 year's old she's 16 now n she's into some old school music! !! she's good, it runs in my side of the family! ! my first guitar was electric i never started on acoustic, just saying you're excellent! !!
Great song & playing Mary! I have always had good luck with inexpensive gear, plus I 've owned & still do have Yamaha products & they are absolutely great! That's what my wife,Deb, has used running sound professionally, & they don't let you down, great job Mary!
+Stephen Post Pretty sure everyone on a budget has the same love affair. My first guitar 45 years ago was a Yamaha. My 'first' guitar when I returned after the life and career hiatus was..a Yamaha. Of the six I currently own, though I love all my 'babies', three are Yamahas. Each of them punches way above their price-point weight. Not a dreadnought fan though. Is it a bundle, or separate suggested items? Smart McConvenience suggestive package marketing regardless. P.S. Didn't realise it was iOS only crippedware until I visited the link. Yamaha have done their homework no doubt marketing no brainer easy, all-in-one one, gadgetware cool to the Garageband core demographic.
Yamaha has really made an amazing guitar that stands heads above others in it’s price range if not any price range (wasn’t comparing against the $1000+ guitars. Hoping to get one for Father’s Day and spent hours in guitar center hearing what each brand had to give.
Wonderful video Mary. Especially seeing that you played my favourite song of yours, 'Spire' I love that song I'd dearly love to hear you perform it on a jumbo- any jumbo!! Ok! Enjoy our English summer, May all your days be blessed! Greetings from Liverpool, Jonathan.
HI MARY PLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS BUT I AM PARTIALLY SIGHTED - THANKS MARY AT LAST SOMEBODY PUSHING A GUITAR AT A SENSIBLE PRICE - AND A MIC SYSTEM AS WELL MORE PLEASE - WE ARE NOT ALL RICH GUITAR PLAYERS - BIG THANKS - DAVID BRIAN HOMEWOOD
Cheers Mary. Bought the Yammy blind on your reco. Really very impressed with it. Build is superb and it's arrived perfectly set up and sounds beautiful out of the box. Thank you for the review.
Great job Mary. Love the song and the addition of a little bit more traditional playing. You are good at it, keep it up. Just my opinion though. You be you, I'll be me.
I was carrying it in my gig bag, and wasn't aware that the strap buckle was pressed against the guitar's edge, so when I put it down a bit too roughly, Crack! Big chunk out of the edging... $100 surcharge.
Good on you. Support from MFG's you use and have owned is fine. We understand that. The objections come from folks who demo/endorse stuff they never use and know nothing about ... Nice guitar. I own a much older FG that is one of my go-to guitars :) Line 6 seems to be making some very interesting stuff. Keep doing demos and we'll see what they have an how it works. Nothing wrong with that :)
I want one of each .. You are so good at these now .. I am off now to check out prices & spec's etc .. I love that song I remember the version from high on a hill windswept & the Spire in the bckgrnd .. big love & good karma comin at yah .. have a gr8 summer
Thanks for the tune and the review. My son is a pretty good guitarist and likes to post to Facebook on occasion, but his recordings are pretty poor. That Sonic Port looks like just the thing, and perhaps a decent GoPro or similar. Syncing will be the key... P.S. That dead pixel in your camera, unfortunately, is very distracting.
Not bad the yamaha acoustic guitar, at least the neck is strong enough to handle, my fender dreadnought Cd-140sce has a problem with the neck which recently became slightly deformed so the strings are a little bit high from the 7th fret to the 12 and so on... It's so bad for such piece of instrument that sounds so great but at the same time defectuous
Disclaimer: Just to set the record straight, yes it's an awesome guitar for the price but you have to set it up properly like the one in the video. It does not play like this right out of the box.
hi, thank you for this video..question on the sonic port.. the part where you sing and play guitar at the same time, was it purely sonic port or post processed/effects added? thank you
G'Damn I just found a gr8 deal .. for both as a bundle .. hope the deal lasts past next pension day .. P.s. you are just as pro' as these other folks demos .. shame they are just not as photogenic .. 'Tho one of two young guys recording in a car etc .. very pro film .. big budget .. multi camera .. I don't know if they are pretty boys or not .. perhaps might appeal to some .. bye
Uhhh... don't care about the gear. It's about the song. GAWD I hope you find your unicorn. If I were onely 20 years younger...LOL. Good luck doll. All the best!!!!

I love mary's face when she plays amazing blues. So focused like she is feeling the music

That Line 6 sonic port is an amazing piece of technology, which you showcase beautifully.

Tons of love from Canada xoxo
I also love the style of this video as well. Refreshing.
50K!!! Brilliant, Mary! Congrats!! Keep up the good work.
Awesome I just got the guitar today
I love my Yamaha acoustic guitar. It’s an FG series but an even more entry level. It sounds so warm

Cheers Mary. Bought the Yammy blind on your reco. Really very impressed with it. Build is superb and it's arrived perfectly set up and sounds beautiful out of the box. Thank you for the review.
That line 6 Mic seems like a handy piece of kit! Just wish it would work with Android!
Sounds Great Mary , Lovely Song for a Good Demo !

Great review!
Yamaha makes awesome guitars.
I was lucky to buy a Yamaha LS6 brand new for just 320 GBP and I love it to bits.
Hi , could you please tell me where to buy 😄 ?
Love the song, hope we get to hear a studio version soon!
Great job Mary. Love the song and the addition of a little bit more traditional playing. You are good at it, keep it up. Just my opinion though. You be you, I'll be me.
I rented an FG800 on Kaua'i when my guitar was in the shop... it had really nice sound. And then I broke it. And then I had to pay for that
Okay what happened ?😂
I was carrying it in my gig bag, and wasn't aware that the strap buckle was pressed against the guitar's edge, so when I put it down a bit too roughly, Crack! Big chunk out of the edging... $100 surcharge.

Jeese that is a lovely guitar, nice low mids. Hope they make a 12 string version

the yamaha has a nice overall sound to it...
Yamaha acoustics are really good even the budget ones Bert Jansch used them almost his whole career.
Great sound and good recordings.
Shut my eyes and it could have been Joni Mitchell. That's a good thing!!!
When you have you may want to checkout the Mooer hornet 15 watts
Great review im buying it you good looking woman. yes

Nice. But when I click the link to see more about the microphone I get a weird unsafe webpage.
Nice One Mary!
Hello!! It's me!!
I think spire is my favourite.
can you say if you know if Alhambra 1C is better or worse than this ? or hofner hz25
How wonderfully you play... is it a composition of yours? Either case it sounds wonderful.
Not bad the yamaha acoustic guitar, at least the neck is strong enough to handle, my fender dreadnought Cd-140sce has a problem with the neck which recently became slightly deformed so the strings are a little bit high from the 7th fret to the 12 and so on... nice
Does it still works?

Hi Mary, recently I bought this guitar (Yamaha FG800) and I notice have high action. What do you recommend me to fix it? Thanks for you help!

I have 2 Yamaha bass guitars. Good instruments.
is that mac only?
You should always stand up when you sing; it makes a difference. That'll be $300 please.
Uhhh... don't care about the gear. It's about the song. GAWD I hope you find your unicorn. If I were onely 20 years younger...LOL. Good luck doll. All the best!!!!
