A power switch on the front of monitors is such an overlooked feature. Being front ported also helps a lot when they have to be close to a wall .

Love the Adams! Congratulations! You should consider a product called Advanced Room Correction by IK Multimedia. Very few of us have the luxury of perfectly treated acoustics where we mix and master, ARC takes your room out of the equation! Keep up the good work, I find your videos inspiring!

I picked up some monitors for my bedroom studio but have yet to get things set up enough to hook them up. Glad to see you're upgrading! That's so exciting. Also, new music on the way! Thanks for letting us tag along on the journey!! You're an inspiration.

Mary - u rock !!! ...must feel great to be back at home in your safe place ...good luck in writing ur next single!!! I've been writing myself again, haven't in couple years consistently , it's therapeutic to push my depression back into a less constrictive place. My new gear today is the new Keeley Synth-1 pedal.......it's gonna be my new muse to write/record some new stuff....have a great day!!!!....and enjoy ur new monitors!!!! - I can only mix with cans on otherwise I get caught up in hearing the reflections and not the clarity I need...love the new song idea!!!...... missing ur presence here in Chicago...u made my town a little brighter with ur neverending smile!....

I own the big brother of these spkrs. Mine have the ribbon mids and ribbon tweeters and the ribbons sound in a class of their own. They project four times more information compared to piston style variants. They are utterly smooth with not a hint of sizzle or hiss from the high frequencies. Adams are just brilliant!

You look so beautiful when you're playing! I swear there's a glow around you that melts my heart 💖
I've recently gone dawless. Tried a zoom r16. Records 8 tracks at the same time, 16 total and it's the size of a laptop. No hardware and software incompatibilities, zero latency, has built in amp's, cab's and effects. Not as versatile as a daw which I still use for mastering but extremely portable and quick.

Some recent gear I've bought is the tc electronic mojo mojo overdrive which is a very warm over drive, digitech hardwire delay pedal with looper and my favourite the digitech whammy DT pedal that helps me change tunings on the fly and make super cool rage against the machine octave and harmonies.... Its honestly the most fun pedal ever!

Mary...if you're spending that much on your monitors, you should at least spend £50 on some foam tiles for the walls - particularly the corners. They won't be proper bass traps, but it'll limit the amount of "pretend bass" and high-frequency echo. I did exactly that, and even though I use cheap Tannoy Reveal 6 monitors, everything is so much closer to the real thing than it ever was before.

Might be wise to listen to some of your earlier recordings/mixes via the new speakers and try a new mix of an earlier project, to give some perspective. Whenever I've upgraded speakers old recordings sound different! Obviously the old adage of hearing a mix on as many systems as possible holds true.

Congratulations on that couple of beauties, they sure sound as good as they look.
Thank you always for your honesty (part of this is also the bass face :) ) and sharing with us. I can't wait to hear the song mastered. I love the sound of the bass strings when you hit them, unless it's live, it's very difficult to hear them so clear in the videos.

Speakers made for use in studios, and for recording use in general, are commonly called monitors in the US. Traditionally, recording engineers used them in their isolated control rooms to “monitor” the sounds being made by musicians out on the studio floor.
