  • In this video I unbox, review, and share some recipes for the MioMat. This is a great product if you are looking into making your own plant-based milk at home and begin a more sustainable living. I also do a comparison between the MioMat and the similar product by Almond Cow.

I found a recipe for oatly style oat milk that works great. 1 cup rolled oats, 4cups water, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tsp coconut oil or 3 tbsp cashews. Run the MioMat on the smoothie setting so there's no heating cycle and strain afterwards. Tastes great

Life-hack - If you use blanched almonds you don't have to strain the almond milk! 😉 If you soak them there will be no pulp at all. 😊

TIP: If you make almond milk, no matter HOW, always add a couple teaspoons of sunflower lecithin to keep it from separating in the fridge. It also makes the milk creamier.

Oh wow! Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try it out. We definitely do have a problem with homemade milk always separating or setting to the bottom of our coffee

Do you use the powder in the capsules or liquid form? And how much to use ?

True, but it also makes it taste bitter. Did that, done that, wasn’t happy with results. Best

Hmmmm.......... Looking like MioMat is going to be my pick. Creamier milk + versatility.

Definitely a great option! They are both amazing, but you can’t beat the creaminess of the MioMat

I enjoyed your very thorough review. I wonder if soaking the almonds first would leave less pulp in the end. When I've made pecan milk (using soaked pecans and coconut) and soy milk (just soy beans) in the MioMat, I've ended up with much less pulp. I was surprised to see how full your strainer was.

Thank you so much! We did try soaking the almonds once and they didn't blend enough and the consistency was really weird. Not sure what we did wrong, but It's been working out better for us just to do them raw. It sounds like maybe we are using too many almonds?

How much milk will this make with one cup of almonds? The reason I ask is because nuts are very expensive.

He already said you can’t make soups in the almond cow. I had it and no you can’t! There is an annoying little basket you are suppose to put everything into. Plus it doesn’t heat up. Almond Cow is a waste! Don’t waste your money! Best

Almond cow sux and it’s overpriced! Mine died after 2 yrs of minimal usage. I followed their recipe so it wasn’t because I over filled the dumb useless pain in the neck basket thing. I think a machine should have a cold and hot option not just one or the other. Yes the almond cow machine gives very watery and tasteless results, which was one of the reasons why I didn’t use it that much. I don’t recommend the Almond Cow! Don’t waste your $ plus their customer service sux too. Best
P.S. oatmilk is never going to be like the store bought one that everyone seems to like. The process is different, it’s more than just blending and straining oats. But gooey oatmilk 🤢.
