Do you have an Almond Cow? What's your fav thing to make? If not, what would you make first? *Discount code linked in description*
I would like to see you make oatmilk with it, taste it, and see what you do with the pulp
I actually told my kids that's what I wanted for Mothers Day. Can you process dates with the nuts and it not hurt the machine?
@@lavetawillis9092 You can! Almond Cow has a recipe using dates here: almondcow.co/blogs/milk-recipes/how-to-make-cashew-milk#:~:text=Place%20cashews%20in%20the%20filter,the%20close%20arrow%20to%20secure.&text=Plug%20in%20the%20Almond%20Cow,run%20through%203%20automatic%20stages.
They have a coffee milk recipe on their recipe that is *chefs kiss*!
What about the added nutrients that are in regular plant based milk vs the almond cow plant milks? Is this a concern health wise of missing nutrients?
So excited to see y’all getting more sponsors! You deserve it. Love your videos
Thank you so much!! It's definitely helping to bring even more and better content! We appreciate your support
We bought this around a year or so ago... nice product! When we bought, it came with a sticker with a cow and an almond talking to each other...
Cow- "But where does the milk come from?"
Almond- (pointing at himself) "Dezz Nuts!"
Lol! Great video, guys!
HAHAHHA
😅🤣😂
The collector cup is used when making creamers which uses less water but does go inside the unit and holds the water. Check the creamer recipes on the website!! Love it. And I freeze the pulp in ice trays and use in my smoothies.
Thanks and great idea with the freezer!
You can actually put the plastic thing inside! There's a tip on the Almond Cow YT channel where you can fill the plastic container up with water instead of the metal base and that way, the basket "reaches" the water level but you're using less water, so generally get a thicker milk. It's a good tip!
:)
Mine just came in a couple days ago! Stoked to try it!
I love seeing fun new innovative products from y’all!
Glad you like them!
I’ve been thinking of buying this machine for quite some time, then I happened across your video. I am buying it and you now have a new subscriber! I wish you blessings and much success!
I've been looking at getting this forever. Thanks for the review.
Glad we could help
Thank you both and the sponsor of this video....I was on the fence about the product. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
I just got my almond cow deliver to me Saturday, May 1 . I was so excited when I got it I used it the first day . I had decided to finally buy it because for years I had used a nut milk bag . I just got tired of squeezing out the nut milk . This is so much easier and less mess to clean up too . I love it. It’s worth the price
So glad you are enjoying
Love you guys! Love the whole vibe of the video and aesthetic! :) Keep it up you guys!!!
Thank you! Will do!
Just came across your channel! Love it, definitely going to try this product.
Hope you like it!
I love my Almond Cow! I’ve been using it 1 to 2 times a week since January 2021 :) I press the cow button twice, so run two full cycles. I find I get a nicer milk that way. The pulp freezes well (I use silicone mold with little wells - then I pop them in a silicone freezer bag). This way you don’t have to use it right away.
Love that!
This seems so much easier than straining with the cheesecloth mesh bags!
Yes! My (Larisha) hands always break out after using the mesh bag a lot, so I'm happy with this option!
especially with arthritic hands like mine, also both my thumbs have been surgically reconstructed bc of arthritis, so it was a WIN/WIN for me when I purchased last year.
Thank you for this review! I’ve been thinking about getting an almond cow.
Hope it helped!
I was just about to make some coconut cashew milk when your video popped up. I love my Almond Cow!
HAHA, that's awesome.
I love, Love, LOVE the Almond Cow!!!!!!!
yay, what do you make with it
@@MakeItDairyFree I usually do cashew milk. Although I have to admit, ever since I discovered NotMilk, I haven't done the standard plant based milk.
Health is wealth 🍊!
:)
Thanks for the insight on this product..I'm gonna invest in this..💐💐😘😘👌🏾👌🏾💞
Hope you like it!
Best of ALL, you know WHAT is in your milk!!
I subscribed because of the rap. 😂 I also just got my Almond Cow. I made cashew creamer last night. It was delish! I’ll have in my Ninja Creami coffee this morning. 😊
I became very sick from a dairy allergy. Thus began my dairy free existance! Well time after time i was so disappointed with store bought milk and creamers. I was a 18% cream in my coffee girl i was sure i was giving up coffee. I bought mhself an Almond Cow for Cnristmas and OMG i love it! You can make so much more than milk. You make creamer in the collector cup. It tells you on that sticker with the cow on how to do it.
Just purchased one becuase of you guys ^_^
Hope you enjoy it!
I've been wanting this since 2019, so if I still want it at this point and there's a discount, I guess it's meant to be. 😀
hahaha, I hope you enjoy it
I have a SoyaJoy G4 which I use to make soymilk. Soy milk has to be heated which the SoyaJoy does for you. I do have to strain through a nut milk bag when done. Good thing about the SoyaJoy is that you can make all kinds of nut milks, it has different buttons to select, also porridge . I think the Almond Cow is great for those who don't want to make soy milk but the SoyaJoy is more versatile at a cheaper price. Both of these products make a fresher and superior product than store bought at a great price
3:48 So great even the bags are paper! I think some time ago they were not (maybe am I wrong) so this is amazing :)
oh nice
In 2023, the coconut shreds come in plastic, although it may be compostable.
I was looking at this too a while back. Might get more of a industrial soya maker. And i too use my pulp for cookies or dry for making flour. Will try the energy balls next time
Enjoy the recipe!
Y'all too cute❤️ Thee Almond Cow never heard of this til now.
Thank you!
This is so cool!
Glad you like it!
This is so cool. I don't drink dairy milk and it's nice to see how I can make my own plant based milk at home. I'm think I would invest in this.
Hope you love it
I saw this product. Was confusing so glad to see this.
Glad you found it helpful!
Just ordered. Thanks for the coupon code for $15 off. Also for creamer 🥛 soak your almonds first!!!
Hope you love it!
I spend $7 on a vegan coffee creamer and $5 on plant based milk. We are a family of 5 so we use plant based milk daily for everything. I think this definitely would save us a lot! I’ll check out the site! Thank you!
I bought some vegan creamer and milk too. Also got cash back for it from Ibotta app 💸🥳
You're so welcome!
Ever since seeing the Almond Cow for the first time, I am dreaming about it. Still, cannot justify the price for now (similarly to a Vitamix) but I really love the concept - it would be SO SO helpful in limiting the amount of plant-milk cartons my fam goes through... Plus, I have heard only good things about the taste and texture of the milks from the Almond Cow so I am pretty much sure it is worth the money!
.
Happy for your sponsorship guys! A really amazing brand to partner with :)
Lots and lots of love for the whole fam!
Anyways, sending you all the love guys!
thank you so much!
I think it is cool in concept and looks really easy to clean. I've made almond milk in my Vitamix filtering with cheese cloth. I'd rather put $200 towards a high speed blender (if I didn't have one already) then a single use appliance.
We understand
Yup. For the price point, it doesn't do enough.
I've had a blend Tec for nearly 20 years and I can make milk in that.
But I did recently purchase a small nut milk maker that is a knock off of the nutr.
It was less than 100. And it has multiple functions and can make rice, oat and soy milk, along with other nut and seed milks. It has a clean setting and delay start and keep warm.
It makes smaller batches but that means I can make a variety of nut and seed milks.
I still could use my blender but I seem to make milk more with my nut milk maker.
But it's only worth it to me because it has multiple settings/uses AND it was less than 100 (with a coupon).
For 250, I would rather make a down payment on the nutramilk, which is truly amazing but whose size and price tag I can't quite justify. LOL
16:46 it’s actually $245 now just the machine “The milk maker”.
They just talked about this during the Food Revolution Summit. We be getting !
Nice!
Thanks for this video, I'm going to start using my Vitamix though to make cashew milk. I already own it and will reduce waste from cartons.
I also have a Vitamix and it makes awesome nut milk. ;o)
@@whatscooking905 good to know
Enjoy! You'll love the taste
I make strawberry milk, Almond+oat milk and cookies with left over pulp :)
Nice!
I still use my vitamix but I do like their recipients. I bought their jar and I store my almond milk in there.
Great idea!
You can use the plastic as an insert for creamer, which can be used for ice cream.
Thanks
“I say we rap....” Hilarious
LOL
the intro was too cute!!
Thank you!
1:05 Now, this is what I come for on this channel XD Andrew, you are a legend!
HAHAHAH
Yes I have been thinking about this one for a while but not sure if I would get the nutrebullet that you just reviewed it this 🤔 great review
Thanks for watching.
Great video! Another pro could’ve been the small amount of almonds it took to make that much milk.
Very true!
However it isn't magic so using fewer almonds just means a more watery almond milk.
You can always make almond milk in any milk maker or blender and use more water proportionate to the amount of nuts. But it won't be as tasty and it will have less protein.
I bought the starter kit about a year ago. Best investment ever!!! I get a variety of recipes off there Instagram page. I will soon buy a second jug, so I won't have to make milk but once day a week. Loved you guys review.
One* day.
so glad that you love it too!
They do have really great recipes online, don't they?
I think this is a great idea but I wish they offered a way to fortify the mylks. I would love to make my own mylks at home but the main reason I drink them is for the added calcium etc.
Hmm, we definitely aren't dieticians, but I wonder if you could add liquid calcium to it. I'm sure there's a way
I’m not vegan I’m lactose and I prefer planet based milk and I definitely think it’s a great investment.
I love watching your experience with new gadgets. I recently bought the soyabella milk maker. It costs half as much as almond milk and the pulp grinds finer, better for dehydrating then grinding into flour. But...enjoy your almond cow machine
Thanks for watching!
Are you guys going to do a review of The Nutr too?
Since this video the prices have changed due to inflation. I'm sure. But it was still 255 for the machine, bottle, and brush. Looks like the nuts and grains don't come in the paper sacks anymore and they are quite pricey. I chose to get those items at my local coop and Costco. I go through a lot of oatmilk which is now almost 6 dollars per carton! I figure, if anything this will save me money on oatmilk, save cartons from being trashed, and maybe keep me from making all those extra purchases I didn't intend to when I'm at the store.
Also! Your discount link took 25 dollars off! Thank you!
So glad to hear that you found something that works for you. I wish the pricing was still the same but I'm glad you still got a discount
Did you soak the nuts first? Should you- did it specify to? I would think that the coconut shreds were a little tougher. Would you recommend soaking those first?
It said recommended, but we did not. We wanted to see how it was without the extra step. The coconut shreds do not say soak ahead
I was actually looking at this just last week... BUT... I discovered I could make nut milk with my juicer. I'd love a comparison (if you guys have a juicer...?) because if the AC is REALLY better, I'd consider swapping them out. (But I couldn't have both because I have no room!)
We actually don't have a juicer, but we have been looking at some, so maybe when we decide
Does it help to soak the almonds to help with pulp reduction.
We didn't notice a difference when we tried
It would have been great if you had made and tasted all four versions of milk. And knowing if other nuts are available cheaper through the company without looking it up would be nice but that’s me being lazy. Now the big ask - can you make a macaron with the leftover almond pulp? You mentioned it could be dried out to make almond flour but I don’t know enough about regular almond flour processing to know if/how much of the oils and liquids are removed vs left in. While I haven’t made a vegan macs yet I’ve seen them successfully made with chickpea specific aquafaba. I’m trying to get there but bean water is still the slimy stuff I rinse off obsessively. It would be great not to waste it. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback
My biggest con is that it’s another appliance and it literally has one use. I can make nut milk in my blender which has a lot of uses
I was thinking the same thing. I have a Vitamix that cost a pretty penny and can make nut milk with ease.
Cool to see what I can make with the pulp though, will have to give that a try. ;o)
I almost bought one a few months ago until I realized that it basically is just a blender that presses and seperarws the pulp.... all of which I can do with existing things in my home. It is a cool product.. but it’s not necessary
@@tnextreme Especially since it really only has one purpose unlike a blender.
We can understand that.
I just wanna know if the milk will froth well with a coffee machine frother or hand frother. Thoughts? Opinions?
It frothed when it came out but we can try again with just the milk
@@MakeItDairyFree oh that would be so helpful! It's the only trepidation I have before purchasing!
Have you heard of Joi? They sell almond, cashew, and now oat milk. Can you give that one a try? Thanks
Heard of it, haven't tried it. Will look into it
They have a nice richness, and really just seems like it's cashew butter I'm putting into the blender. But it's true that it doesn't separate.
@@itsaplantlife9850 would you continue to purchase ?
Can you add dates with the nuts and be able to process without hurting the machine?
Yes
Yes, they have recipes using dates on their site
I have wanted the Almond Cow for a while… I’m curious now that you have owned yours for about a year, do you still love it? Have you completely eliminated store bought milk? I question if I would go back to purchasing milk out of convenience 🙈
We still like it. Honestly, we haven't completely eliminated as we just go through so much with work content, but if not I think we would
I was reading the reviews on Amazon. Quite a few reviews stated that there was a lot of pulp in the finished product. The reviewers also stated that they ran the cycle 3 times to prevent this from occurring. Did you find that to be true when you made your milk? Was there a lot of pulp in the finished product?
Hmm that's weird. We only ran it once and we didn't find that at all. Our kinds would have complained but no one noticed that at all
there is no pulp in mine
I like the milk maker and jugs though after looking at the website i would buy the nut. The say packaged in a facility that also processes tree nuts, peanut, wheat, dairy, soy. So make sure that it's vegan also I would've liked it not to been in a same facility as the rest as well. I'm gluten free and don't do soy at all. But again thank you for showing this a better way to do my nut milks and bigger glass jar are great. I wish that everyone did the same brown paper bag packaging as well so hard to find. Trying to go plastic free as much as possible
Totally understand for allergy purposes! The paper bags are great for sure.
Some people mentioned that, compared to the Vitamix and cheesecloth method, it is a little more watery and doesn't get as much milk out. What do you all think?
If want creamer have to soak the almonds first, will be creamy 😋
Apparently, if you run it through a second cycle, it gets better.
But the reality is, one cup of nuts to 5-6 cups of water is fairly watery.
I always used 1 to 4 in the blender. 1 to 3 if I want it like whole milk or half and half texture.
1 to 5 is gonna give you skim milk equivalent.
Hey super random but can you folks review vegan hot dogs? I’m trying to find some good ones for Memorial Day coming up.
Any recommendations would be great
We got you! Stay tuned :)
Do you think the pulp could be rerun in the Almond Cow?
can you compare this to a nutra milk?
We'll look into it
Is it cheaper or better for the environment than using my blender and milk bag?
You'd have to weigh those costs for you I think depending on what you currently pay since it varies everywhere
is the nuts raw or just organic?
both
Home Improvement was the show.lol
It was !
No one:
Andrew: gimme a beat
😂
LOL!
Do the almonds say “Organic”???
Online they do not say Organic!
The almonds do not
I don't get why the Almond Cow almonds are not organic. Bee-friendly is great, but doesn't the fact that they don't mention it's organic mean it uses pesticides?
I feel that anything you purchase you should wash.
is asking too much for them to make the glass bottle dark to block out light
definitely feedback for the company.
Actually it’s not quite correct what you said about the collector cup. You can put it in the almond cow for really thick and creamy milks and for creamer. Look up the videos on almond cow’s UA-cam channel for more information.
Thanks
Anyone that's a single person have this product? I'm unsure if I want this because all of the pulp and if I'd make enough milk to go with this price tag.
Obviously we aren't single, but you can make half batches and you can dry out the pulp and grind it to make flour and store it that way. Hope that helps
🥰❤😍
:)
Go Andrew haha
LOL
😁🤣😂😃
:)
I would love one of those you guys don’t talk too much lol
hahah thank you
It’s not a starter kit. It is THE kit.
Plus your non organic almonds! 😫
Thanks for this video! I have an Almond Cow and I love it! One suggestion related to your comments about collector cup usage - this can be used inside the pitcher to make a smaller volume of creamier milk (instead of adding water to the pitcher it is added to the collector cup). I think Almond Cow calls this "creamer" style and there are some recipes on their website: almondcow.co/blogs/creamer
Thanks for the info!
for me and my hands, I found it helps to use the cup as a wrench, it's awesome it helps these hands connect the blade to the basket.
can you use it to make other nuts to make milk in that ?
Any nuts, seeds, or grains can be used
