  • If you've ever wanted to make almond milk at home without the mess, The Almond Cow plant-based milk maker is worth checking out.
    I've had the Almond Cow for about 8 months and it works really really well to make plant-based milks (I've made both oat and pecan milk easily).
    I'll walk you through how to use the Almond Cow, some of the best features, and show you how to make almond milk in less than 2 minutes.

    Thanks for the review. To me, the main reason for making your own is strictly for the delicious taste and texture you get VS the store bought. Also, no added fillers and chemicals. However, you’re using only 1 cup of almonds to 6 cups of water is not going to get the real good taste; it will taste like store bought. What I’ve done is followed you example BUT then threw out the almond debris and added another cup of almonds and put it back using the same just made almond milk and ran it again. This time you have the milk from a 2nd cup of almonds and the flavor and texture are outstanding. Just my opinion.

      I’ll have to try that! I do prefer the taste of thicker plant-based milks. That’s a great idea.

    Its hard to explain it all, you should search the internet they are explaining it better but to make it short this is why you should always soak your almonds if you want the full benefit of it ...
    Why you should always soaked almonds. The reason is simple, the skin of almonds has tannin, which inhibits the absorption of nutrients.
    Almonds also harbor antinutrients, which impair the digestion and absorption of good nutrients, such as calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin E, omega-3 and magnesium. Soaking them break down the skin and also significantly reduce antinutrient levels releasing enzymes that are essential for the digestion and the absorption of the good nutrients, this is very useful, especially if you are planning to make almond milk.

    • @TheHangryWoman
      @TheHangryWoman  3 роки тому +5

      Yes definitely! The less water you use, the creamier it gets and the best part is that you can add your own flavorings to it like vanilla or dates for sweetness. The biggest benefit to me was being able to adjust the sweetness, or just make it plain for cooking. I think it's better than store bought tbh.

    You never want to use dry almond, you always need to soak them all night. If you dont then all the toxine contain in the almond are gonna go in your milk. The soaking is NOT just to make them softer its to remove all the toxine in the nuts.
