The more you work on this little beast of a motor the more you are going to learn about it and improve little weak spots in its armour.. Truly in awe at the progress you've made with it. 👌
Next time you need to get out sound deadening, use dry ice. I also just wanted to say that I'm soo happy to see the car one step closer to being finished. Good luck and keep up the great work.
Dry ice is quite expensive. If you don't have dry ice try using electronic duster/compressed air in spray, then shake it and flip it upside-down that nozzle is on the bottom of the can and it works in similar way to dry ice. I used this technique on removing sound deadning on my e36 and it works like a charm
@@PrizzaMike Canned compressed electrical cleaner works as well. Hold the can upside down and freeze a spot of the sound deadening. Then strike it with a hammer! Comes off much easier, and is a lot cheaper than dry ice! It's just liquid nitrogen under pressure. Removed all the sound deadening in my rx7 that way 😎
Not enough people on youtube actually show the process, I like how you teach and actually show your doing, dont get me wrong I love the “7minute 240 build” videos, but i feel like this niche of working on cars much more interesting

That "glue stuff" is the factory sound deadening. The eaisty way to remove that is to cool it with dry ice and hit it with a rubber mallet, it pops right off. The second easiest way is to heat it up with a heat gun and scrap it off.
Exactly what i was going to suggest it , I've learned that from another video " rust to a minimum " i think it was something i remember 😅 Love Mike's work and everyone putting effort in restoring old cars

Everytime I watch these videos I’m just in awe at the effort put in. I’ve repaired lesser crashed cars in the past but I’m talking about maybe straightening a rad support, and a new bumper. But this car I just wouldn’t know where to start and it’s mind boggling how you just always seem to know what to do. I’d be so lost trying to repair this, seriously impressive work.

That little Hobart puts in work. Great to see you going to such lengths to put the car together straight, square and true. Wouldn't be impressive to have a twisted up shell.
Thanks for inspiring me to work on my CRX. I've been hesitant to fab and weld my frame but I think it can't be as hard as what you're doing so props to you
I love the snaps when you cut to a clip that is finished. The magic *snap* an the interior was back in. this one was really good, sometimes its super hard to line up the frame in camera to make it look right
Haha thanks! It can definitely be difficult to line up the background, but i love those transitions so much so I try to put a few in each video here and there🙌🔥
@@PrizzaMike it’s probably one of my favorite transitions. Especially good for skipping through things that people have already seen a bunch of or don’t need to see. It’s sick and shows you put as much love into the video editing as you do the car. Keep killing it mane!

Theres a particular good brand of grinding disk made in Germany that you can get at a local Menards. It is called "Pferd", expensive but long lasting and do the job much quicker. Get the flap disk and the disk. Use dry ice to rid of the sound deadening. If you're going to buy steel buy it from a steel shop, saves you more money. They will also sell you welding supplies. Spend the extra cash to get a roll of 30lbs filler wire. It'll last alot longer as well
bro you are such a motivation, if you can do all that, then i can swap a darn engine. i wish you all the best with your project, to all panels line up perfectly :D
I just did sound deadening, and I've gotta throw in my support for the dry ice. I see everyone saying it already, but it's honestly crazy. 30lbs of dry ice and 90% isopropyl alcohol, make it a slurry, spread it on there then after it stops crackling you can pull it off in hugeeee chunks. I got a picture somewhere of the entire passenger front sound deadening in 2 whole pieces. Life changing
Dude i remember seeing the first pic on insta right after the smash and you saying youd rebuild it and I was like yeah nah that's a fucking effort but here you are, most of the puzzle complete, it's so fucking dope to see. I think my bias is the fact im a cressida guy in Australia and I would have to buy a whole car just for cuts. So good to see how these really are just big jigsaw puzzles. Unpick the shit, reweld on the good.
Awwww man - getting so close to putting things back on now!!! Exciting times! Just as a 'hope this helps', if you want to get rid of the sound deadening much quicker, grab some dry-ice bags, leave them on the deadening for a while and it will become really brittle.. Also you need dry ice and a hammer to remove the adhesive i remember it from an old Chris fix video (edit) ah wait that i think is for some sort of sound dampening not adhesive
S You should have used dry ice on the sound deadening adhesive on the trans tunnel. When you freeze it, it becomes very brittle and you can smack it with a mallet and it will break off for the most part!
I don’t know what’s more exciting: Watching the 240 slowly coming together, or constantly watching Mike make everything he needs fit into that Integra
