Honestly mike you saved a car that most people would have junked and moved onto the next. It’s a level of craftsman shift that really inspired me to keep working on my 3.8l 5spd firebird day by day. Stay up man and I hope you find shop space to continue your awesome builds.

@@racer1855 that’s what’s up I’ve put about 13k into my project 1999 firebird. Everything for the engine is finished, I’m running a 00 3.8l I got from a junk yard with 125k. I’m running zzp federal mogul pistons(0.200)over, with h-beams, l67 reconditioned crank, clevite bearings, arp main/head studs and rod connecting bolts. beware of using motor oil on certain O rings. A/C O rings are a really high quality seal so I don't think it will cause a problem. but in the future consider using dielectric grease. to explain more fully oil can soften and deteriorate certain types of rubber over time and one definitely bad application of oil on O rings is on engine cooling system components. they deteriorate over time with the oil on them causing a coolant leak months or years later but if you use a silicone based lubricant instead of petroleum based then it helps your O ring installation without deteriorating the material. I'm not sure what they put in PAG oil so if it's made with a petroleum base then you know for sure oil won't hurt the seals but I always choose the more cautious route and go with some dielectric on most O rings just in case. the S13 is coming along nicely, lookin more and more like a car every day.
