Aye tip on the headlight resto kit when you do the sanding you can just do horizontal strokes. The tiny scratches in the plastic will project light more side to side rather than up and down
Just when I feel like giving up on my build you drop another video. Ty man, you really inspire me dude. Your positive attitude towards everything really gives me hope.
Mike I know this idea may seem out of question but maybe u can get the frame dipped in that rust acid killer they dip old classics in just so u can have a 100% rust free shell! Just and idea!! Keep up the amazing work!!
Wish I could've had this video a month ago before I used a hole saw and mangling the inside of my hatch when mounting my wing. The step bit seems so obvious now. Why you shouldn't do things like that at 4am lol. Enjoyed the video as always!
Don’t mind me, just casually binged the last three months of work in a day😅 Seriously amazing progress, and incredibly informative! Can’t wait to see what you tackle next!
Very very rarely do you see a channel getting views so close to its sub count man if I was you I would be super hyped on the progress your channel is making and honestly I can see 1 mil in your future I don't ever comment once in a blue moon maybe.... Maybe but man your style and channel have aton of potential
Mike keep up the good work, I’m almost in the same boat as you on my 03 E500 Benz I’m just too attached to that car so after I got tboned I too have been slaving away to get it back to how it looked prior to the accident. That car is my dedicated VIP build. Also chi city homies yoooo
The wing looks great man. Might wanna add some rubber gasket material to the under side or rtv around the bolt holes to help make it water tight so rain doesnt seep in
Great job Mike the wing looks awesome I was gonna say need double sided tape but you also said your going to be taking it apart again so nevermind lol...also just wanted to say I think what your doing to your car is AWESOME I wish I had half of your skills and drive and motivation I also think it's cool that you have good friends to help when you need it...I don't have any friends so not sure what that's like lol...but keep up the great work you do my dude you seem like a great guy who also has a very cool and beautiful girlfriend... wishing you all the best brother.
So many ppl sleeping on this channel . Bros hard works is gonna pay off big specially as this gets closer to being done people who doubt this is not gonna stop talking . Same with DIY gang and motiontv
Looks so good! I wanted a Type X wing but never bought it because I wanted to be financially responsible. Boy, what a dumb decision that was!! Also, put UV protectant on your headlights. If you don't, they will yellow pretty fast. I recommend Sanding them down with either 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper and getting then getting them clearcoated. Then you will never have to worry about them yellowing.
New VIDEO hell yeah! You got me buying new headlights! But since my e46 new headlights cover are 20$ each I have decide to go with the new instead of renovation. I am watching and this idea came to my mind, can I buy your steering wheel from integra 🤣? Srsl I love it and I guess I need a different once since next week I will install new bucket seats in my trash car. Btw car.abusing brand new Instagram of it! Cheers from Poland!!
You earned my sub, keep it by finishing this car 🤘should have a live stream party when its welded together to fund raise to have the chassis acid dipped and treated. Not saying you are doing anything wrong and it may be better then weld though primer. I figure the car deserves it after what its been through
I found it a lot easier to weld through Upol Copper Weld through Primer than the 3M Zinc based stuff...both came recommended by several people. And if you scratch the primer off the bare surface un the holes for your rosette welds, it worked even better. YMMV.
For mounting the new wing, would RTV or some sort of silicone/gasket be needed around the four mounting holes to prevent water leaks or is that not really necessary since it's a snug fit? The car is really coming along nicely! 👍 Can't wait to see the roof go on next (or "MacGyver" a Z32 t-top... just kidding 😁)
You may want to brush some Corroseal inside the rusty frame while it's exposed and then spray paint it or just some type of rust converter with like phosphoric acid(klean strip at HD), there are others but I forget. Think weld through primer has some phosphoric acid in it.
I used toothpaste on my daily ('02 Honda Jazz). They were yuck Used #2000 grit and paper and a polisher, came up mint. Also blue wing to match Fran's hair! I know i'm watching like 8 months later lol
We just can't wait to see your progress each week, can I ask what made you believe you could do this, had you seen it done by someone before, or just had faith you could do it? Either way I give you my total respect!
what is the name of the lamp glass cleaner? This really amazing..in Indonesia there is nothing like pasta it's only in the form of a liquid but it can't be that clean..
Is your 240 originally a US left hand drive car? Also, for headlights a sanding from 1000-3000 at least, then cutting compound and polish. I just did my e46 lenses that way. I also got some lenses from the junkyard that were completely yellowed and matte. I worked from 220 up to 3000, then 2k cleared, and sanded/polished them. That's more of a permanent solution. 2k urethane won't turn yellow and shouldnt oxidize like bare plastic will or the compound alone will.
This is really making me want to work on cars more, its amazing to see the progress
You got this 💪🔥
And thank homie 🙌

Interesting! Thanks for the tip!
I love swatching these videos. They’re so cool.

Your Integra and Civic you paired up with at the meet make a great duo!

You are my favourite UA-camr ✌🏼
Like the lego Process keep Up
😅 haha thanks man!
Don't open the gas all the way. Open until it stops then turn back a quarter turn or so. It can cause the valve to leak. Just a good practice.
Interesting! I never knew that! Thanks for the tip!

Something i was thinking about you should get is some cleco pins to help you keep everything in place when you go to weld stuff together
Good idea!
Keep it up legend
Man there is nothing like the JDM front on a DC. Cleaning those lights up did so much! :)
Right! Now you can see all the flakey chrome on the inside 😅💀

The FC guy is a friend! We've been busy recently :(
But dont worry, we're on the same drift team, he'll definitely be in a future vid
love your progress, keep working buddy
Clean video….great job as always bro

Hell yea!!
Aye my man Mike is the mistro 👍💪

This man never disappoints me
Hahah after youre finished you should put the interga in a big red garage where the garage door reads "Break im case of emergancy" 😅

Man, this is amazing.
pet’s go dude a new video
Damn I was asleep when this came out and didn't think to check till now sorry
The rear frame rail u took off gktek sells a replacement and I have one for sale here in des plaines
This just goes to show, you can repair nearly any car, and is the reason i refuse to scrap my bonneville
That’s head light cleaner 😯

I'll have to look into that! Thanks for the info!
Make sure you spray all the grinded spots with weld through primer before you weld the parts together so they don’t rust out from the inside

OH GOD MIKE DRILLING INTO AN OEM TRUNK HOW DARE YOU
I'm so sorry 😭
We just can't wait to see your progress each week, can I ask what made you believe you could do this, had you seen it done by someone before, or just had faith you could do it? Either way I give you my total respect!
If you sand your headlight you need to code it because you took the old one out and it will get faded again quicker
Thanks for the tip!
what is the name of the lamp glass cleaner? This really amazing..in Indonesia there is nothing like pasta it's only in the form of a liquid but it can't be that clean..
Your doing a great job man, this would be way to overwhelming for most lmao
So where I work at we do head light restoration and its a 500 grit sanding an 800 sanding and then a wet sand 3000 with a glass clear coat
My man get yourself a cleco tool kit all ready if you don't have one all ready
Follow it up with plastiX and then turtle wax trim restorer, headlights will look mint.
Thanks for the tip!
Yessssssssssss
Got a question when you get the roof on the car how are you gonna remove the scratches
Which scratches? I think in the video I show the top of the roof but that's just clear coat flaking off
@@PrizzaMike o h
999 all the way!
🔥999🔥
What kit did you use that was so god damn good😂I need to know
You have no gasket between the wing and the trunk?? You need to put some wing gasket.
I use bug spray it works pretty good
Interesting!
That intro tho
Nice work! What material is the 180sx wing made of? Abs or Frp?
Thanks homie!
And its plastic! Super great quality
As much as I liked the wing, I think I liked the no wing better but still nice either way
I feel ya, I really was a tough choice haha i literally put that off for a whole year lol
@@PrizzaMike well none the less it looks good. I wonder what the final color will be 🤔💙
