This is something I recommend everyone does. I used to get so annoyed with how much of my screen got taken up by the Spartan Laser in previous games. When MCC let you adjust the offset it literally changed how I approached fights since I was far more confident using it in battle since I could see so much more.
Absolutely, my confidence with the Skewer and rockets grew and now I actually stop to pickup skewer where before I would run right by it unless on empty.
I gotta say, the replacement of the Spartan Laser with the Skewer as an insta-kill anti-vehicle weapon is brilliant. All the cooldown is placed at the end, instead of the beginning of the shot. You have to find time to reload still, but when you miss you feel like it was fair. When you miss with a Laser it feels like you got cheated after tracking the target for so long just to miss.

I try to make mine resemble the Halo CE offset as much as possible, which is a little bit advantageous since most of the weapons in CE don't take up that much screen space

I would have never thought to change these settings until Standard Ace began his video posts. I swear a lot of the small tricks from this guys channel really affected how i play Infinite. Honestly these small short videos with just the easiest tips really pays off in Ranked play. You feel a lot better at the game as well. This channel is seriously underrated.
For the other three weapon types I like to go +100%, -100% and +100%, with the logic being to shift the weapons to the bottom right as much as possible, and then away from the screen to make them smaller, and gain a little bit more space to the right of the weapons. Try it out! Heavy is the same as you (+100%, -100%, -100%) to get as much off the screen as possible.
For the rifles you don’t want horizontal turned all the way up and depth turned all the way down or else the BR scope will block your peripheral field of view on the right edge of the screen. Instead just turn horizontal up a little bit past half and the depth a little below half. Vertical is the one that makes the biggest difference in freeing up screen real estate anyway. You can crank that one all the way down to lower the weapon model as much as possible.
Damn I'm so glad you made this because I definitely felt like I couldnt see shit with these weapons at launch but I never bothered going through the settings
Now here's one I did pretty much instantly during the first flight. I'm the type of person to get lost in the menus playing around with the options for 2 hours before ever playing the dang game. And yeah, all I could think was "man its really cool the game lets you do this, time to find what gives the most viewing space" lmao

@@Mntan halo has more height and depth with the combat then a lot of other games so if someone is above you, it’s a lot easier to see. Also, in the previous halo games they essentially had the best skyboxes in any video game and you really soak up the atmosphere and get a feel of being in the game just by looking up a few degrees more

Of course I think that option should still be there for people. But middle reticle all the way for me baby
The LNG video does have some good points, but I think he fails to realize that all the positives of a lowered reticle are eclipsed when you use over 100 FOV. LNG uses 120, so it's pointless to have a lowered reticle when you already have that much peripheral vision.
I did this in mcc but to the opposite effect and I love this setting so much. I felt like some of the games made the weapons look weak as they looked tiny but changing the weapon offset really made them look more scale in mcc and for me that is exactly what I wanted
As another useful point, a lot of people find it helps their aim if the weapon appears to be pointing towards the crosshair, this provides another visual cue to help line up shots that may work better than only moving the weapon model out of the way.
Yep, did that already. Skewer took too much space, however I lowered even basic rifles, I didn't like the BR scope being higher than my crosshair. It's just better now
Ive done that with everything except pistols because I never really use them, so at least I get a bit of comedy out of a sidekick in the middle of my screen
I prefer immersion over tactical advantage. So I'd make the heavy weapons look as though I'm carrying them from my POV, which just so happens to take up the most FOV.

For pros, it's probably awesome how there seems to be sooo many little things that can speed up traversal, and give more screen real estate, etc, but I fear that for older gamers like me, all these little things just further widen the gulf between my casual skill and those of a pro, and might make it all the more inevitable that the game will only be accessible to pro gamers in the future. I already get pretty crushed, and I think it'll actually happen more in the future, not less :P Not to diss the content though, or the skills of peeps that are finding these hacks and improvements for playing, or anything! I think it'll make pro matches even tighter. I just think I've been pushed outta this Halo, is all, and I'm a bit bummed.
Play ranked man - you'll get paired against people of similar skill, especially if you're losing a lot. Also play big team/most social playlists - there are plenty of casual players there. Don't give up man Halo is for everyone
It's almost like just making good default choices for everyone is the most fair way to go about things. The amount of customization in games is just stupid. If there is an optimal customizable aspect (like weapon offset) just make that the default for all players.
The moment the game launched, I've used low and center offsets, something akin to Modern Warfare's. I like being able to see more on my right, it helped in a lot of situations
I have not adjusted any of my settings aside from sensitivity, and I'm playing on controller with programmable paddle buttons (built in, it's a cheap Scuf knockoff from PowerA) I've placed Gold 5 out the gate in cross platform play on ranked. Makes me wonder if changing these would make me any better or if I can just willpower my way through these subtle inconveniences 😂

A great starting point for consistent movement and aiming is this; Movement: Center 15 Max input 0 Axial 15 Look: Center 6 Max input 0 Axial 12 These settings are a great starting point to adjust from. I play on these settings: Movement: Center 15 Max input 0 Axial 15 Look: Center 12 Max input 0 Axial 0 I also recommend adjusting your FOV in the video settings. If you play really close to your 20-30 inch monitor on your desk, you want 100-120 FOV. If you play 6-12 feet away from your big 50-80 inch tv on your couch, then you want 78-100 FOV. Just remember this rule of thumb; the more the screen takes up your vision of your own eyes, the more FOV you need in game.

This offset stuff shouldnt have made implemented in my opinion. It added tradeoffs to using specific weapons, especially the more powerful ones. Thus demanding more awareness.
Looks extremely useful but I have to say I don't really like it, here's why. Heavy weapons usually kill in one or two rounds so given the firepower they carry you should expect drawbacks such as lower ammo counts, slower reloads and yes, larger more bulky weapons that take up more screen space making it just a little harder to use them. To me it just seems to help balance them out a bit. It is a good feature though and very useful, can't blame anyone for using it lol it does give you an advantage when using bulky weapons.
Could you make a video on how to boost FPS? I don’t think it is possible, considering a read an article that the original Xbox and the One S are capped at 30 FPS, but it is unplayable.
I'm afraid of this messing with my aim or crosshair you know I'll leave it as it is as the change isn't so significant for me to change it and I'm not risking losing some accuracy or something
@@ZER-cr4dm I don't think it's too difficult to understand what view model adjustments do. You can change them in a custom game and see for yourself. does this video have a good point? Yes. but view models can be entirely for looks if you want. It still doesn't change the fact that the view models sliders are just aesthetic changes, they don't change gameplay at all.

Screenspace never bothered me, id split the beam and hit 2 spartans but i guess if this improves vision it only gets better

It's a one shot machine, easiest gun to use it's okay if it takes up a quarter of your screen, I think of it as an even trade

Yeah. But in high levels of play with everyone able to 360 by tapping their joystick. It won't make to much of a difference.

one issue you lose your gun charm is off set it too much but i'll take being able to see a dude of seeing my charms tbh
I'm afraid of this messing with my aim or crosshair you know I'll leave it as it is as the change isn't so significant for me to change it and I'm not risking losing some accuracy or something
It doesn't change your crosshair, it literally just affects the position of the weapon view model.

I don't think it's too difficult to understand what view model adjustments do. You can change them in a custom game and see for yourself.
does this video have a good point? Yes. but view models can be entirely for looks if you want. It still doesn't change the fact that the view models sliders are just aesthetic changes, they don't change gameplay at all.
