I never realised as a kid how blessed I was until I saw my friends working there ass's off for stuff I already own that my parents bought me I never even asked my parents for a PSP because they were expensive but my parents bought it for me anyways because they saw me looking at it at Walmart I loved that thing and had it for years and someone stole it when I was 17 I had my PSP since I was 9 years old.
The other advantage of the PSP is it still works after 14 years. Your smartphone won't last anywhere near as long. The performance of the PSP doesn't decrease overtime like your phone either, plus it uses user replaceable batteries and parts are easy to find. Your phone doesn't have that either. I think the triggers on the PSP feel solid for a device like this. I have never heard of someone breaking them either.
With custom firmware and emulators it's still the best handheld console. Best thing a retro gamer can have! DON'T TRY TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROMS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO, YOU MAY BRICK THE PSP! Got one yeasterday for 20€ just waiting for the micro SD memory card to pro duo adaptor to put some micro as cards on it. Memory stick pro duos are still expensive as f*** 😉

Great video. I've own the PSP 3000 model for almost a decade and it works just as good as the day I bought it... I definitely got more hours racked up on this, than I ever probably will with the PS Vita.
I love the glossy finish. I love the nub, and I have never noticed any scan-lines while playing. My PSP still works like a dream and I often play my favorite games on it. I also love the black piano finish. I have the 'fat' PSP. By the way, the thing with the original PSP [the piano black fat one which I have] is that they are built like a bloody tank. I have accidentally dropped mine so many times in the past, yet it still works like a dream, nothing cracked, nothing broken.

It was my first game console and I still have it ( now I'm considering to buy another one to play MGS peace walker with my brother through Lan play). PS: at the time I preferred the NDS since Lan party's were much easier when only 1 game cartridge was required; and everyone had a DS back in the day
I would get the PSP-1000, PSP-2000 or the PSP-3000 instead of the PSP Go and PS Vita because you cannot remove the PSP Go and PS Vita's rechargeable battery packs. Sony has to do that for you, which sucks. The UMD drive was a really crappy idea to begin with because the UMD drive makes your PSP games and PSP movies freeze up, which gets really annoying. Like the PSP Go and the PS Vita, I highly recommend downloading and installing your favorite PSP games and movies on to your older PSP models from the PlayStation Store.

Just get a ps vita. You can play almost every single psp game, it literally makes no sense to buy a psp in 2018, unless you are on a budget. I got both the vita and psp. I must say PSP is a great console and dirt cheap. Easy to hack too, I have a lot of UMD but the noise the drive makes drives me nuts. Having the PSP hacked and be able to play your owned games without having to carry them is awesome!

PSP's are built so cheap. Tried to swap to a clear aliexpress shell. killed the membrane pad for the right buttons because sony fucking glued the whole thing down like a son of a bitch. got a replacement membrane pad and of course it wont work because the ribbon cable connection is to small and falls out. Cheap china CRAP replacement parts, dont even work. Oh and had to swap optical drives cuz you know that cheap POS DIED 10 seconds after i bought the psp. So to recap i paid $35 for a haggard psp 2000, spent $20 on new shell, optical drive, and membrane pad. so after $55 what do i have? A PSP that wont turn on, when you juggle the ribbon cable to get it to turn on i have NO right buttons working, and the damn optical drive door wont stay shut. 100% worthless! Threw it in a box and haven't looked at it since. total waste of money.
Two things you didn't mention. 1--The UMD game discs are region-free & will play in any PSP from anywhere in the world. 2--Many PS3 games can be transferred to a PSP & played on the PSP console. Or vice-versa with the proper software.
PSP is the best thing you can do with 50 leva (30 USD) if you are a retro gamer like myself. And yes, I do have a good smartphone and yes I do have a bluetooth controller - it's not the same. It will never be the same. I will not trade my PSP 3004 for any phone out there. Just because touch screen will never be suitable for old school gaming.

I traded a beat up 3ds i bought for 30 dollars i was planning on modding it but i came across a psp in mint condition the guy wanted to trade for it so i did it was a great deal on it on my part. I had the 1000 model and I loved it but i was young and didn't take care of my stuff so yeah.... But now that im grown i miss everything i had as a child which is why the psp will forever be one of my favorite consoles and the most affordable today IMO. Btw the psp was already modded with the latest infinity cfw all i did was order the sd card for it and add games it works amazing and looks new so yeah just look around anywhere and you should find a cheap one in fairly decent shape.

Playing PSP games in android using emulators are hard . Like the other buttons at the edges of PSP . If you are already holding some buttons with your both hand , then it becomes hard to press the edge buttons . But in the original it is simply easy

Psp is the best handheld gaming console ever created.. From the games to the classics to modifying, emulators, umd movies. Com on who else agrees??
I traded a beat up 3ds i bought for 30 dollars i was planning on modding it but i came across a psp in mint condition the guy wanted to trade for it so i did it was a great deal on it on my part. I had the 1000 model and I loved it but i was young and didn't take care of my stuff so yeah.... But now that im grown i miss everything i had as a child which is why the psp will forever be one of my favorite consoles and the most affordable today IMO. Btw the psp was already modded with the latest infinity cfw all i did was order the sd card for it and add games it works amazing and looks new so yeah just look around anywhere and you should find a cheap one in fairly decent shape.
Actually, I seem to be the only one who likes emulating psp on my phone...which is a shame, because a psp game at 5x resolution looks fucking good
Ye pk, i just bought one cause i loved mine few years ago. But seriously ... my phone is really better :/ graphism or size of screen.. Its pretty ugly on the psp im desapointed its not as i remembered xD

Playing PSP games in android using emulators are hard . Like the other buttons at the edges of PSP . If you are already holding some buttons with your both hand , then it becomes hard to press the edge buttons . But in the original it is simply easy

Used to own one but lost it to pawn. I have gotten one on layaway a series 2000. Just gotta pay the rest and get it. I know a game store that sells the accessories like mem stick duos to even the games. Sad to hear psp psn store is dead but eh shit changes least my purchases of ps1 and psp games digitally carry over to psp via download list thanks to still owning a ps3 and ps vita
Just so everyone knows, they have finally cracked the ps vita memory cards and have come out witha micro sd adapter, so they are way cheaper now! If you have the money get the vita and you can hack it!

I love my ds lite no doubt but damn the psp is just a emulating powerhouse. Not to mention a lot of good games like monster hunter and god of war.
Maybe had mine sunce 2008 and just recentlly my lcd screen is going bad cause i didnt buy a hard case for it but its okay,anew screen is on the way so i can enjoy it for many more years!
Is it like the game systems? Like how u can play a ps 1 game on a ps2 system ?Like the higher game system u go the lower game system game you can play on it?
