I’d just like to have my 100-4 back. Unfortunately I sold it to a dmas who thought he had learned how to drive it in the month he had possession. That was in 1965 and I still haven’t forgiven him. Zody.
I think ( sometimes ) it is because of the sudden RPM rise when they shift down in manual before hitting the corner causes the rear wheels to lose traction especially in wet road condition which makes it easier to spin.
Damn ! Thats the most fun I ever had watching races. That corner seems to be a good place to sit, too. The speed is sufficient to provide excitement to the drivers and for the fans to be able to see everything, unlike formula 1, where they go 200 mph, you cant hardly see the cars before theyre gone and they constantly risk their lives. This is as much a race as any and nobody dies or loses limbs . F1 needs to be slowed down. The speeds are ridiculous. It proves nothing .
3:00 I wonder how many crashes were caused by drivers laughing whilst passing a baby blue 4-cylinder econo-box with, "WARRIOR" written across the back?
You don't know, clearly, that I couldn't care less,@@NearCry91 The Mercedes-Benz 300SL was one of the most successful race cars of all time, which brings me back to your post........so what?
I do have footage from those races however most of it wasn’t worth using. I know you had 2 rather sideways moments through Quarry but sadly I missed them both.
@@lewisbirdmotorsport8405 That's very unfortunate, pretty scary stuff actually watching that onboard. Did a good job to pull it over without issue mind. Hopefully see the car back out again soon!
These things are hilarious most of them can't spin the tyres on wet pavement . I wish I could have a couple of my cars back in the day to joust with them like my two 67 Pontiac Catalina 290 HP 340 pds Torque or my 68 Executive 330 HP 370 pds Torque I will not mention my 70 Charger R/T 375 HP 490 pds Torque . Yes they are certainly lighter and more nimble in the corners, and using modern tires and optional sway bars and heavy duty suspension on the big Pontiacs would improve them it does not make them 1000 pounds lighter . But Back in the day ran into some Euro fans with MG's BMW 2002's, Porsche 914' and 16's , Triumph TR7 V8's you get the idea but on American roads we clobbered them with our American V8's . And it didn't take a exotic V8 to do this , any Ford 390- Pontiac 400 , Chevy 327 - 396 , Chrysler 383 , AMC 390 - 401 would do fine A high output version just made it worse . In Europe cars in the 425 to 540 HP class were considerd exoctics in America they were produced as albeitly production engines made by both Chrysler and Chevy . This is not to say that Euro models have no value they do , this is to point out the different view between me and my Euro counterparts .
Is it just me or do the English applaud people's failures. It seemed to me that every slide, spin, Collison, and off track incident got a round of applause from audience and spectators. It's like Hi, we're the English, we're bunch of dicks. You fail we rejoice.
You'll hear the same thing on clips at the nürburgring (look up auto addiction channel for any number of examples of that). Also this camera was at one corner, so you're hearing the same nearby spectators - bit of a stretch to characterise an entire nation based on that, isn't it? I think people in general watch sports for the spectacle (hence 'spectator') - this includes the highs and the lows. There were quite a few slides and spins in this clip that showed considerable skill in the save/recovery - perhaps that may have been what the applause/cheers were in appreciation of?
I SAW A LOT SWEET BEAUTY IN THERE, MOST BY CLASSICS 60'S MG AND A LOT CLASSICS BRITISH CAR, SOME DRIVER FOR SPEED RIDE AND FUN, BUT SOME DRIVER DOESN'T! ( MAY BE DRINKING TOO MUCH SCOTCH ? OR....THAT CAR IS TAKING FROM HIS DADDY? TOOK AWAY AND PUNISH HIS DADDY'S CAR? )☝😕💫
Unbelievably positioned positions, this film is a pure connection to the past
I love the way the camera operator zooms right in, so that you can't see the car in relation to the road, or in relation to the other cars.
Love #20, would buy her in a second. Beautiful Austin Healey
Wish there was more of the red BMW E21
Love seeing so many MGs out, makes me want to take my GT to the track here in the US
Why not? Racing old(er) cars is the most fun you can have with your trousers on! Except racing old motorcycles.
I would love to take my Healey 100 for a "spin" on that track someday. Cheers
@Trevor Parker .......LOL - they are very 'tail-twitchy' to be fair.

Just thinking- don't know a better test of driving in motorsport. ;-) thanks always.

I especially think that none of them know how to drive on the circuit !!!
They are all Sunday pilots who come to break their 50M€ toys !!!

Do you have to repair the grass or pay for your tyre marks, when you slide off the course?
If you're in total control of your Car, You're not going fast enough.
"Mario Andretti"
As a young boy castle Combe was a big event with Ron Fry
I can't remember what car it was having a right ding dong with the red mk2 fiesta was it the sky blue mk1 escort.
The fiesta retired in that race

TBF those cars can be pretty quick... Just not in this instance.
Pretty quick? In relation to a Beetle,@@simtalkayak ? (The bug or the car, take your choice)
You have less than NO idea what your talking about.
You do know that is a Ford Escort? One of the most succesful rally cars of all time.

Too many trying to show off and power slide thru the corner. Some beautiful cars out there.
Did it ever occur to you to stop playing with the zoom lens so that we could watch the race?
There are a good half-dozen people out there that I would black-flag and suggest that they find other hobbies...
No footage of the touring cars on the Sunday evening?
I do have footage from those races however most of it wasn’t worth using. I know you had 2 rather sideways moments through Quarry but sadly I missed them both.
@@CarsAreRacing They were purposely for this channel!😭
@@Jamesibbotson875 I'm sorry! Hopefully I will see you racing again somewhen soon and I'll try not to miss you this time.
One might think that all who races, and lives, in the UK are rain-meisters..but such is NOT the case.
I was in that red Citroen Saxo, it scared the be Jesus out of me
I bet!
I'm not surprised! Where abouts did the bonnet come up? Folly or just after?
@@CarsAreRacing about 50 metres after folly when I ducked out of a slipstream at 115mph

Good job.
All the zoom lens does is cut out material that the viewer wants to see. And all the zoom lens does is make the camera operator feel important.
A lot of morons on here that would be really dangerous in a pedal car,,,let alone a race course
Nice

Why are all the loonies driving on the outside? No wonder they crash... ;-) It's wet. It's greasy. And you get gravel and rubber bits...
I was thinking the same thing. They looked like a bunch of amateurs.
Some good and not so good driving
Definitely evidence of bigger cheque books than driving talent in some instances.
@@daviddou1408 we all have at some stage but one can feel nervous about driving standards sometimes .
At 0.30 jeremy Clarkson would say MANIAC lol
Henley 20 and mg 49 should have been black flagged
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe .
Too many dollars not enough cents
I just got my UK race licence. But after watching this I'll be sticking to track days, 'cos clearly they'll give a race licence to any idiot. Whoops.
