Remember that you can still hit 60-70 damage shots consistently from mid range even in pubs with random bullet spread, so there's really no rush to give up good positioning to jump into a full team to meatshot the medic twice. You can still get the kill easily from mid range without getting killed by splash rockets or pipes. Meatshots are crazy strong, but should only be used in nieche situations like getting the jump on a soldier or meeting a heavy around a corner, or dueling another scout.
Once you get better at scout, your melee weapon is a devastating weapon though. You deal less damage, but once you get good at dodging, you can easily jump around your confused opponent bonking them into the Milky Way. But definitely use your scattergun first as a beginner, I agree.

I like using the force a nature because it boosts my stupidity tenfold. Like scouts are already slippery as is, now imagine a scout that is erratically force a nature jumping. Half of the time I don’t even know what i’m doing or where i’m going, making it hard for an enemy to land a shot on me

Lower sensitivity helps.

Try using your movement speed to close the distance on weaker targets with your scattergun maybe?
